You haven't lived until you've danced to this one. Best ever.

The people who dislikes this song are the people who wear shorts to a meetin and who's late to a meetin.

I've always seen the group's title simply as "The Satins" sort of like how The Supremes were once The Supremes before they became Diana Ross & The Supremes. I've had this song on several compilation albums in the past and have always enjoyed it. Another one I've enjoyed about as (and from roughly the same era) long is by The Rays titled "Silhouettes On The Shade".

Best 1950's slow dance! Today's generation don't know what they missed!

This is an example of doo wop music. It was 1956 when conformance ruled social circles - just about the time Elvis (that dirty rebel) burst on the scene to shake things up with his new rockabilly (morphed into rock and roll). The ensuing 1960s were all about smashing social norms in every way. I was in Jr High school then, and my sister won a talent show singing and playing (on the piano) this song.

Hi Tysheen, You being a New Yorker, I thought this would be an interesting tidbit of knowledge...You can go to Grand Central Station & take Metro North or to Penn Station & take Amtrak to the actual city/town where this song was recorded. Fred Parris & The Five Satins recorded "In The Still Of The Night" in the Saint Bernadette Catholic School basement in New Haven, Connecticut in February 1956...

I'm listening to music over 60 yrs this is in my top 10 of the best doowop songs ever. Great doowop songs were There's,a Moon out Tonight by the Capri's,. Since I don't Have You by Skyliners, You belong to Me the Dupree's. My True Story by Jive 5. Worth reacting to may increase subscribers with an added genre.

I have no idea who the heck Nate Pruitt is, but this song was written by Fred Parris, the lead singer of the Five Satins in 1955, recorded in the basement of St. Bernadette's church on February 19, 1956 in New Haven, CT.
Please, get the facts straight before you post

Just imagine how it was back then. On the one hand all you want to do is make money by playing music. And on the other hand you have that Jim Crow attitude. You couldn't use the public bathrooms. Lynchings, beatings, arrest and any vile things that they wanted to do to you. Never forget how it was back in the day and in some instances it still is. Always bring your cell phone with you when you travel in any small town in the 'good old boys' USA. Your life or your freedom may depend on it.

I see you react much to Elvis, Beeges. That's fine but I think a part of yr audience would like great music like this brought to life again. I see there's 9 comments here and u never responded to one.🤔

Sorry Mark. My channel is growing a lot these past couple of months, God knows I'm trying to respond to everybody but it's hard.
