I love The Search For Grog because it's a very silly side adventure, but at several points, you are horribly, viscerally reminded that Vax died 24 hours ago and that all of these characters are somewhere between starting to grieve and adrenaline-fueled shock.

@@Direwolf181 Marisha said on Talks that Keyleth was in the deny stage of grief. She focused on finding Grog in that moment so she didn't have to deal with it. And she played it so well even though it was about year after the C1 ending.

Presented incredibly well, the motions, all of it is just perfect for the end to Gilmore's arc. I love the character, and think Matt played this perfectly.

What really makes me sad (and a tiny bit angry) is Vax never got to say a proper goodbye to anyone outside of Vox Machina. Would it really have hurt for the RQ to give Vax the rest of the day at least to say goodbye to everyone? Gilmore, Allura, Kima, Kiki's father (I'm sure they could summon him to Vasselheim somehow) and maybe some others? I feel like they got cheated, especially Gilmore given Matt said in the Campaign wrap-up that he was heartbroken.
True. I didn’t get to say goodbye to my mother but that was because I was out of the house when she passed. I sort of had this feeling and needed to escape from everything going on. The ones beside her when she passed were her siblings.
Revanents (sp?) don't really work that way. As soon as your mission is complete, you're done. If anything, The Ravem Queen was very nice letting him say goodbye to VM.
I haven't even started on Campaign 1 yet, and only know bits and pieces and some of the tragic things to come-- but watching this scene still made me cry hard 😭😭😭
I have watched this scene multiple times since it went live..... and I tear up EVERY time. That shows what a great story they all told and how connected we got to them.
Vax when GGG was destroyed: "I Will Garat you with your own organs, get out." Gilmore when he finds about Vax: Keep up the facade, we have a performance.
Props to Matt Mercer who used one of my favorite musical pieces from World of Warcraft (he uses alot of their music for background ambiance). It really added to the scene.

The story between Gilmore and Vax is so similar to my story with my straight best friend whom I'm in love with. I showed him many clips of the story and he agrees.

I just finished Campaign 2. I came to CR through the Vox Machina Amazon show. I decided to go with Campaign 2 and enjoy Campaign 1 through Amazon. I am glad I did. The depth of emotion in Mighty Nein is incredible. I recommend you start there

EXU spoilers I’m so nervous for ep3 and the return of Gilmore under Aabriya. I love her as a DM but Gilmore just lives through Matt and I think I’ll be a little sad seeing someone else play him. Gilmore and Allura were never really NPCs, they were Matt’s PCs in the story.
Better just wait till ep 3. I’m actually excited to see her take on old fabulous Gilmore. Yes it’s going to be strange seeing them not speaking through Matt but we’ll see.

The problem is, if RQ gave them that one day, Scanlan would have his 9th level spell back and could use wish to break the bindings she had to Vax
