As someone who is a recent convert to Critical Role content (watched a bunch of clips, not the actual show yet……sooo many episodes) this is a legit thing.

Oh, believe me, there were plenty of player circles trying to manifest that for C3. My personal ideal version would have been a married couple, possibly fighting or estranged (kinda like a certain relationship in Calamity).
But hey, there's still hope for campaign 4, hahaha!

Man, that ending made me cry. I've known these two for a couple of years now and I love them alot and I'm so grateful that through all the jokes and irony they do show their love for each other so openly.

I only just recently discovered those legacy eps of the podcast (they are available on spotify btw) and it has become comfort food to my bad days, because its legit just two fun, messy dudes who genuinely love each other while raising families and finding success and still staying just lovely dads being dads ... sometimes casually getting shitfaced and crying about how much they love each other

Oh god, these two are so precious. Its so rare to see men expressing love and vulnerability to anyone, but SPECIALY to other guys. Not even father and son, way less friends. Theyre so afraid to feel, to show emotion, to touch, is sad, honestly. And nowadays it seems like everybody is, honestly. Finding love is hard. Friendship or romantic. @@tyleredwards9799 Because Liam was going through a lot of personal stuff around that time and was dealing with depression and usually when people with depression go around doing grand gestures like this (or more often they throw a party) and telling all their friends they love them and how much they mean to them is often a precursor to that person commiting suicide and later on Liam himself stated that people like Sam were the ones who helped him keep going

no, its not sad at all, their relationship is one of the most beautiful things in the world and our sensibilities of affection being reserved for a romantic partner is stupid. Humans are social creatures, we need others and touch to thrive, there is little as valuable as having a relationship like this!

I love these two so much! I thought it was so interesting that Liam was the one who didn't want to "waste any time" if they were on a desert island and Sam was the one who got emotional as he hoped others had what they had. These are two very deep men. 🖤💜
