    This doesn't seem to work anymore? Setting the vertex maps doesn't work with hot4D? Tried it about 10 times now. Using R21

    • @JonathanWinbush

      I know they updated the r21 version i haven't checked it out yet though. I believe on the download page he explained the updated version somewhere.

      @@JonathanWinbush Running into this as well, r21 version only uses vertex color tags, and the vertex color tag doesn't work with the redshift vertex map node, it just reads as all white. Not sure theres a way in redshift to drive opacity by the vertex color tag at all.

    Noticed you seem to get fast viewport playback here.
    What kind of specs was this run on at the time?

    Hi! I am using the R21 and i am a beginner/intermediate user. I am stuck at 7.12 min with the vertex map. If you could help. it would be great! Your tutorials are awesome..a great help!

      Thanks for the support on my channel. I meant to look into this before but totally forgot but with R21 there where sine changes I need to look into still. I'll be able to look at it after CES this week.

    Thank you for the tutorial , i'm currently creating a realistic scene and i need to make an ocean with very realistic results, any ideas on the direction, i should take to do it?

    • @JonathanWinbush
      @JonathanWinbush  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would all come down to your materials and lighting. You can cheat it using my other tutorial maybe the results are good for you. I also have my project file available for you to download and see th-cam.com/video/c9gSb_1Fo7c/w-d-xo.html

    I don't have X-particles but instead of the particles sinking just to get deleted with your kill tag, can't you have the particles of foam stick to the surface until you kill them by age? Seems that would be more realistic.

  • @steilvorlageDE
    @steilvorlageDE 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another option would be to stick the particles to the surface and let them go smaller and transparent after a few frames. So you don't have to calculate gravity - it is faster.

    The Foam is super pixalated. On your Map and on my as well. How can we sharpen up the Vertex or rather soften it?

    • @JonathanWinbush
      @JonathanWinbush  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Motion blur would help maybe

    • @kimoh7067
      @kimoh7067 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JonathanWinbush I'd wich it would be possible to just soften the vertex color tag this is based on in R21

      @JonathanWinbush  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimoh7067 in this video I was using R20 but honestly haven't been using Hot4D for awhile now so I'm not sure. Xparticles has their version of Hot4D built-in now which works better with the foam system.
