It may just be a coincidence, however, when Caitlyn climbed the ladder, and Vi was left alone on her knees, crying, I saw it as a pattern back to episode three, with Vi and Powder. Now, Vi is the one getting left behind by the person she thought would be the last to leave her, and that just breaks my heart internally. Sobbed so hard during this scene, ‘cause they the only lesbians I know who can go through a break up twice, and only kiss once. I hope they can patch it up at the end of Act 2, or the start of Act 3.
This scene is pure HORROR for my CaitVi ship 😱 I feel sorry for both 😭 Cait doesn't know how to deal with her moms loss, being manipulated by Ambessa and Vi being punched (mentaly and physicaly) by someone she loves and shared so much but blinded by hatred. I just hope somewhere in the end they do end up together happy as a couple and not as colleagues 😱
Im with Vi on this. Caitlin says she wouldnt have missed when we know full well the kind of power that rifle packs. She wouldve hit her target. But that shot wouldve torn through the kid and Jinx. She really was willing to kill a child just to get Jinx and thats a terrifying mindset. And once that kill is made it changes you for the worse. Most of the worst bad guys across fiction have standards. They dont go after kids. The ones that do are considered the worst of the worst that even guys like Joker and Goblin spit on.

I love the inversion of dynamics from last season. Jinx and Sevika getting along without Silco wedging them apart is such a breath of fresh air, and I'm excited to see how well they work together. On the other hand, Zaun's hit Piltover where it hurts bad, three times over, in the span of probably less than a month. So how can the sister of Jinx, who protected her in the moment of truth, still hold trust with Caitlyn with all these horrors fresh in her mind? Especially after Caitlyn stood before the Council itself to appeal on their behalf. Caitlyn was not oblivious like Heimerdinger, or a self-interested politician like her mother. She genuinely tried to help the Undercity as soon as she was able, but the problem was too unwieldy because of the sheer amount of anger and resentment. Not to excuse the shift to full-on dictator, but you can only be pushed so far before you snap. What's right stops being important after that snap. She's playing along with Ambessa's game without realizing that she's a piece instead of a player. Her real test of character will surround finding that out and breaking from the hawk screeching in her ear.
It's interesting just comparing how much it took Caitlyn to snap vs powder. Powder was getting crazy with all the drugs and disassociation surrounding her but was still grounded to an extent. Her psychosis builds on stress and it really took till killing Silco to break her despite all the loss this far. Caitlyn loses her mom and immediately goes on a warpath, doubting people who do care about her and can see she is struggling. Goes to show that those living in piltover had it pretty smooth living in a bubble where the loss of a loved one and terrorism just causes them to snap whereas it's such a daily occurrence in Zaun
@s3nsation646 she watched a terrorist who happened to be Vi's sister use her friend's philanthropic tech to kill her mom. Even then she was trying to talk down the council and used her inheritance to target her mom's killer specifically. Even after Renni's attack, Jinx was her only goal to kill. It want until Isha pointed a gun at Vi that she broke and saw red at more than just Jinx. Jinx was the victim of an uncaring system. Caitlyn was the victim of terror attacks and a military takeover that pushed fear and paranoia on purpose. It doesn't excuse her actions, but you're downplaying how much worse pain is when you know the inflictor enjoys hurting you. All in an incredibly short time, no less
The creators made a very interesting parallel in the third episode of the second season. But there is one difference. In the first season, Vi was purely emotional. When she cooled down a little, Vi immediately tried to return to her sister, but did not have time. In the second season, Caitlyn was also emotional, but at that moment she chose revenge and decided that Vi would be in the way. Caitlyn did not return to Vi.
Yeah you're right about that but if you look closely at this scene right before Cait leaves, her eyebrows soften and lips quiver showing an obvious sign of regret for what she just did and I think Act 2 is gonna show Cait regretting what she did a lot.
Violet hit Jinx in the first season out of pain, frustration and anger, here Cait does the same. They will recover for sure... in the meantime I feel sorry for Violet right now, she is in the middle of all this, on one hand the woman she loves and her sister who she also loves on the other, it is a very conflictive situation that is difficult to handle and solve so that all three parties are happy... very complex! Violet breaking down later on with this problem is very real, this is unbearable.

I am... unable to look at Caitlyn the same way after this... and her becoming general. I am just so horrified. This is not the Caitlyn we've grown accustomed to, this is a cold-blooded, calculating woman who will stop at nothing to get what she wants... It's going to take A LOT to redeem her now. Also, I don't know who did the score for Appointing a General, but they need an award like, RIGHT NOW. Every time I hear that music I get chills.

Cait is right. Vi is always acting based on her feelings, never using her brain. Oposite of what Vander tried to teach her. In result she ruins everything she touches - s1 and s2 as well. Much like her sister. She betrayed Cait and in result another terrorist act with civilian casualties was perfomed by Jinx.
Vi was right, Caitlyn was not in a good position to shoot at that moment, when she was approaching to shoot she could not stay standing, when she tried to shoot Jinx in the head she missed and shot Vi in the gauntlet, Caitlyn was the one who got carried away by her feelings at that moment, it is understandable but she was not right.
I do see the comparison you're trying to make but it think the circumstances are a bit different. It's more like VI is in Powders position now where she goes with the best of intentions, but the ones she cares about are driven by emotions, and right now rage. In essence Caitlyn is treating her somewhat the same to how she treated powder last season
