I really like how the updated guard models look but I hate painting them. They are just way too damned detailed with all their belts, buckles, straps, buttons, insignias etc.
The problem with the blood angels is that they only got 4 new kits, and 3 of them were characters plus they didn’t even receive a new unit they didn’t already have
@@keyanklupacs6333 I get that there’s a lot of units already but it couldn’t hurt to add one for blood angels.Inner circle companions are essentially just another flavour of bladeguard for dark angels and nobody was shouting “rules bloat” when they released
I've really liked the newer Templar and Dark Angels sculpts as well as the Guard refresh. Blood Angels were my first army though and I'd considered buying the new box but the sculpts completely put me off of it. I think some of the new Nid stuff has been pretty cool looking too though I've never got them and I don't want another horde army... not again
Im honestly just disappointed there was nothing for the Ravenwing, since that was the side of the army that imo looked bad because other than scale the old Deathwing stuff holds up well while I think newrly every ravenwing mini is way too goofy. Was hoping for bikes with lances or at least an upgrade sprue because as it is they play too similarly to how white scars should for me.
@@gstellar96 that's a fair point. I'd honestly forgot about that side of Dark Angels. I completely agree they should've been refreshed too and I really hope they got something soon
just wait for the second legion release, they just gonna use normal marine spue and make half a upgrade spue for the noise marine so they all look the same
Happy to hear that you are looking at AoS mini's too. I don't game, just hobby, so can pick whatever I like and in general I tend to favour AoS because I like their sculpts more. The new Skaven range is really good, so great pick!
The Blood Angels fomo box matched the vibe of the model releases, I get they're supposed to be new player friendly but as someone with an army wtf am I supposed to do with 20 assault Intercessors(i refuse to accept that those are dc) when all I want is two models
I was ready to purchase new Sanguinary Guard and Death Company for the past 2 years, yet when they showed the new models, I decided to completely ignore them. I didn't purchase any jump assault intercessors when they came out - why would I purchase them now?! I'm loving the new sculpts for the Skaven, though. And I'm also not too upset with the Geonosian Vespid...
The new Sanguinor is a pretty good model on its own, but when you put it next to the new winged stormcast you’re kinda just left wondering why they put so little effort into 40K
This may be a hot take: but I much prefer how the old Ardboyz for Ironjawz look compared to the new ones. I actually LIKE how they're more squat and distinct compared to the other orcs. Also I'm not a fan of shields on any of my orcs.
I like the new characters for the BA. The head of the sanguinor seems kinda goofy but overall the characters look great and have a présence on the table. The death company lost a lot of flair. I am fortunate that i have some old DC kits. So i use bits to spice up my new DC jumps.i even upgrade some of the assault intercessors with the old DC jumppacks, for extra flavour and have more jumpnits :) however without those old sprues the "new" DC look kinda dull. Atleast gave us some crosses on the shoulders GW!
I quite like the new Lemartes, I gotta be honest the 'too aggressive pose' criticism is a bit funny for a character who's entire existence is RAGE, the ball gag is weird though. In general I take updates on a individual basis, I like Primaris infantry (for the most part), but the floaty vehicles don't work for me and there's too many guns (the one on top of the Brutalis ruins the silhouette for me), and I can't be the only one that thinks that flying stands were finneee, not amazing, but none of the alternatives really work for me. One range that I think (so far) has been done absolutely perfectly is the Eldar, they are the exact same with a couple minor tweaks and a resize, really a testament to Jes Goodwin's designs.
@Skelebob-sp7pn Now that I think about it, I would probably like lemartes use more if he was on the corpse of something, then the aggressive pose would work better
Your wrong about Lemarties, and Asterath. His legs are fine, and while obviously skinnier than the OG, he still absolutely has a killer model. And then Lemartes……. _what do you mean his pose is too aggressive?! He is a chaplain for the death company! And his old mini just looks like a generic Blood Angels Jump Chaplain!
It seems GW keeps messing up non stop ha more and more people are just printing stuff off seems to have gotten way bigger the last 2-3 years as well. I am a Blood Angels fan myself and wow just wow ha
GW feels like they have their remedial designers on 40k team. Because most of the new imperium models have been boring to outright bad. Its why i dont look forward to them uodating okder plastic Sculpts. Its all overdesigned and fragile now.
I’m just so tired of rules and points updates, it feels like homework.
This is why I stopped at 7th.

giving all the grunts backpacks was a dumb design choice, would be way easier to paint without them and the straps to hold them on
@@gopdrifto Gotta go Tanith, whack a cloak on and paint the base black. easiest scheme. Victoria or Anvil make resin capes for cheap.
I prefer the old guard minis, not because the new ones don't look great, but because I prefer the slightly goofy heroic scale
@@brotheroftitans6000 the older ones look more si-fi with the old ridiculous helmets.i think gw made the new ones look too much like generic army guys
Old ones were much easier to paint too
Blood Angels aren't Blood Angels unless they have their Power-Abs and Twin-linked Melta Nips.
Make Karsaro Khan.....no bike......call it an update.

The problem with the blood angels is that they only got 4 new kits, and 3 of them were characters plus they didn’t even receive a new unit they didn’t already have
Why would they recieve a new unit? The have access to the entire space marine catalog.
Don’t need new units there already to many

Agree a Blood angels standard bearer/ company ancient in MK7 armour at primaris scale would be good.
I'd say Illuminor Szeras probably had the biggest glowup of any old model

I love the new guard minis, painting them takes a bit more but at the end they look so much better in a unit. Really didn‘t like the big bobbleheads
