No induction kit or better exhaust manifold is why you have not gained no power, all good having the sports exhaust but pointless if it's not expelling no more air than standard

I've just bought one of these. Feels much faster than the mk5 Zetec S I had.
It's a fun little car but soon empties the tank if you have too much fun with it.

Yeah me and my dad fit it. Exhaust system should be the same on yours mate. Although it was very difficult disconnecting the old exhaust from the cat.. Very awkward to get in with a rachet.
Got the same car for my 1st 1.6 petrol and loving it, thinking to swap out the small wheels for the fiesta ST mk6 alloys and painting the grill on the bumper black (front/back)

I would try the Pipercross panel filter rather than the standard K&N filter
Don't have it anymore mate. What's the difference though?
the pipercross is a sponge filter, it has 3 grades/layers of filter better air flow and it is washable as well, you can also buy the RAMAIR diy filter kit and just cut it to size of your filter it looks like the pipercross, this may need a rubber or plastic frame around it though. What do you think about Fiesta Zetec 1.25 2006-2008 vsVauxhall Corsa 1.2 Sxi 2007-2008 for an 18 year old driver? Which is better and cheaper for insurance and running cost? And which is nippier? :P Thanks
Both cars will be about the same power and running costs tbh. Insurance will likely be similar too but check.. Comes down to which you think looks the best / if you want to make any mods to them!

George Austers thanks mate do u remember what make you got on that wiper cause I’ve seen one there from a company called CD plus and it’s says it’s for a 2008 onwards mk 7, but I’ve got a 2008 mk 6 so I don’t know if it will fit

Finally got my zetec s. its the diesel version and this one has part leathers, electric mirrors, factory tinted rear windows, front heated windscreen, steering wheel controls, and a red dashboard. its also been remapped from 89 to 113hp. the last owner did a lot of things on it in terms of maintenance such as new injector seals, clutch etc. he has to post the receipts for all that work so lets hope its genuine.

The reason I found your channel was because of your zetec s. I got the car on Wednesday and yesterday I started it up from cold and it sounded a bit ify when it turned on which I hope will be sorted with new glow plugs. Other than that my dad says the engine runs really good which is a good thing for a 124k car. Am happy but also nervous as I want to make sure the car is running properly

George Austers my dad test drove it and he didn't see any odd smoke or heard any odd noises and the power delivery was expected. I saw one on Monday and that was underpowered so my dad noticed the difference and said to leave that one. My dad also takes a diagnostic kit with him which looks for any error codes and this one only had one error code which I think said canbus. The last ZS I saw had about 7 error codes, was underpowered and bits of the bodywork had been amateurly sprayed so was best to walk away from that one. Other than that just want to make sure this one is working properly and will be reliable. What car are you planning to get
Yeah bodywork is massive man, that along with the engine is what's gonna cost you the money.

+Phil Bridges From Ebay I think mate. It prevents the strut bolts from getting moisture in and getting rusty.. mine were very rusty and caused a massive problem

The crankshaft pulley bolt may be very difficult to undo!

+Joe M Me and my dad changed the cambelt and tensioner and also the waterpump (which doesn't run off the cambelt). Look around on eBay for the parts mate. Get a GATES belt though
Cheers mate, they sell ford oem cambelt and water pump kits for £97 its just id need a garage to fit them as id have no clue haha
also did my cam on 84 i think lol the bolt had to be torched off
+TheLemonaded The engine kept turning with a torque wrench so my dad bought an electric one which still struggled and it's a lot more torque than the air tools mechanics use.. we was considering drilling it out but that was risking the whole block lol

I have a mk6 1.25 16v zetec climate(2006) its 72bhp 😭 but its only done 21 thousand miles. Can I make it about 100bhp ? What would I have to do? Lol
Without spending a lot money, you can't add much power to a N/A engine so the best thing to do is turbo it, but that isn't cheap either lol
very limited intake system air filter is on top of engine

Lol it's a 1.6 Petrol. They do the 1.6 Diesel and 1.6 Petrol for MK6
If its a 1.6 petrol then its not a zetec s.

George Austers Okay thanks! BTW what tools do you use to access the air box to replace the panel filter? I know it's a pain to access on Duratecs.
It's a lot for changing an air filter lol, but it's not hard to do.. You need a torx bit, not sure what size, but there's a lot to unscrew.
Disconnect the air intake pipes, one has a jubilee clip on, then disconnect the breather pipe, then it should inclip with a bit of force off 2 pieces at the back.

George Austers are these pressed plates? The main things to take from this is that the 3D effect cannot obscure the letters. This would mean alteration of font, as well as embossing/raising the letters (such as with pressed plates), would be illegal. Check on DVLA website it's all there mate 😊 drive safe

I've had pressed metal plates (different style, letters only slightly raised, no euro panel) on my car for the last 3 years - used 3 different garages for MOT in that time and always passed (illegal plates would fail you), and I live less than a mile from county police HQ, see at least 5 coppers on the way to work every day and none of them ever given me any shtick.

You can get 200bhp from these sigma engines with headwork, uprated cams, thottle bodies, high compression engine, different engine management etc. They are very good engines.
yes you can, but the power to money you put into it isn't worth it to be honest ;-)
I've done one back in 2004, I've bought it new and did all those changes etc and 7 months later...the ST came out, well ...buying that would have been a better choice then and still is today.
And in my opinion, these 1.6 zetecs were a great budgetfriendly choice, a great engine with a good chassis for everyday driving. The only money I'd put in such a car today are a good set of tires, suspension and bushes and just enjoying it making weekend-trips etc and not too much more.
That's my honest opinion, ofcourse a tuner-enthousiast would say you can change everything, but really...be honest for a normal daily is it really worth all this effort and money?!
An ST is bought for a few thousands and alot better and cheaper tunable from the start ;-)

@@LoveLife-xy9ir wouldn't bother. My son has the exact same car as you as his first car and funnily enough we fitted gaz coilovers today. It has quite a few modifications but not on the engine. Pointless with that size. Not cost effective at all!
In response to the comment from the chap above you, I get what he's saying, and I wouldn't do those modifications to a daily vehicle and would opt for the ST like he said, but for an engine swap, like my brother is doing to his mk2, it's much better to fit and tune the 1.6 sigma than the ST engine. ST engines aren't great and not the most reliable. The sigma is all aluminium and very tunable and fitting a 200bhp one to a mk2 fiesta is a phenomenal power to weight ratio. A friend of a friend had one in his ford anglia and it shifted!

+Sarah Flint I'm going to be honest, the drone is quite loud if you're not used to a straight through exhaust. It's loud when you have the throttle wide open but when you're cruising at 60-70 it's not too bad

At higher revs mate yeah
the hornet does drone but you can buy silencer for the mid section that will reduce this and make it more manageable

Hi guys im Matt ive got a 06 Fiesta ST150 in ford blue with white side decails.I've fitted a big air intake cone which sounds a bit better.And plan to do short video's to show you what you can do to upgrade your ST150 and any problems i get like last week im getting a loud whine in 5th gear when past 50mph +.Anybody had this problem let me no with a reply.

190hp and about 25 torque...cost is more or less 3000euroz(cheaper if u find used parts)...i messed a lot with this car in N/A tune and wasted lots of money to get almost nothing....when i turbo it....it was in another dimension(i got some vids in my channel)
Ahh, yeah the car probably isn't even worth 3000 euros now lol.
Yeah no point trying to increase power on an N/A.. Just keep it well maintained and get visual mods

+George LIFE It's very simple if it's just plug and play mate.
Just take the old one out with the clips.. then plug in the aerial connection and power supply. Then plug in anything else it has, sat nav receiver etc

They were not xenon bulbs... They were just standard bulbs with xenon gas in I believe...
