So nice to actually see video of Puerta Viejo instead of just being told about it on TH-cam. I want to visit soon maybe eventually live there. Can anyone suggest how I can set up a trip and lodging thats not too complicated? I'm bringing myself and a family member who uses a wheelchair but gets around pretty good!

Came across your channel on a search for a potential retirement hideaway. Thanks for the live drive. Now I need to get boots on the ground to experience the vibe.
I hope to go back to Puerto Viejo soon. Banana Azul has the best sangria 🤤. I usually stay at the Hidden Jungle Beach House just before town by the brewery (aka Kayas place). The sand on playa negra I just call hot as f**k. I've been many times last year 3 months off and on. You still point out places I don't pay attention to and regret. In Cocles usually stop on weekends for Take It Easy. Christin is so nice and the Caribbean chicken, I could eat every day. I then skip everything else until Playa Chiquita where I spend the most of my time.
Adding on to my comment as a vegetarian have you tried out Port Vell? The vegan Gallo Pinto OMG. I'm primarily a meat eater but I could live off this. The vegan place above the meat market is so ironic. Is that the chill co-working location? I'm sad that I'm not there and freezing my butt off at home.
Nice drive-by video.. I've traveling to Costa Rica several decades and finally made it to Puerto Viejo last December, and immediately fell in love with that zone. We loved and stayed at a villa in Playa Negra and have booked a house in Punta Uva for this October, as I understand the water is clearer and best time to go. As an aside - you have amazing beautiful skin.
I came across Saranda Boutique while on a search of places to stay. I was totally inpressed with the pods style and can't wait to visit. I pray the good reviews keep up by the time I get there 🙏. Edit: I paused the video to comment on Saranda then googled the La Tribu Hostel and was like hold up, wait a minute...😂
@@sagemonroe5801 any tips on some facebook groups where it could be possible to find accommodation (for one month),and if that's safe option? Or better airbnb it and to pay more?
What’s the average cost to get transportation from Playa Negro to the main part of Puerto Viejo. I found a cute apartment in Playa Negro, and, will not have my own transportation for a while, so, I’ll be biking it, taxi/uber, and walking. Thank you for this very informative video!
It was absolutely my pleasure. Thank you for your support. I would love if you joined the tribe by subscribing. I have so much more cotton on the way for you. I look forward to welcoming you to Costa Rica.
@@Lilthis_n_that Peace!! Yay Congrats I’m excited for you! I actually created a full guide with loads of information on traveling to puerto the link is actually in the bio of this video! Safe travels!
There are two airports, one in Liberia and one in San Jose. It truly depends on where you’re staying that would determine where you should fly into. If you’re going to be on the Pacific coast then I recommend Liberia airport, but if you are coming to the Caribbean coast, where all the Black people are then I recommend San Jose, but keep in mind There is still a five hour shuttle to get you down to Puerto Viejo or the Limon province or you could also take a one hour flight to a non-international airport in Limon. Good luck.
@@sagemonroe5801 wow, is 5 hour the true transit Goddess ? From San Jose … cuz I’ve been told my bus ride would be only 2 hours 🫣… I wanna mk sure I’m prepared for a 5 hour ride after a 9 he flight🧡
@@Sacredalgebra hey I actually haven’t! But I’ve heard it’s a rather smooth process. Also, it’ll only take you far as the city of Limon. You will then have to arrange transportation from limon center to Puerto, which may be like an hour and a half drive. Good luck
Love it here! Wish the tour could’ve been slowed down a bit, the video breezed by a lot of things we could’ve glanced more at. Great video though!

Beautiful video! Do you think we can just ask an instructor on the beach if we can ride horses or should we book ahead of time?
