After my last episodes I missed coast, I missed ocean, I missed my friends seagulls and that's why I had a mission to find beautiful, calm coastal town. And you know what? I found Vila Nova de Milfontes 🇵🇹🧡
Vila Nova de Milfontes is a Portuguese town in the municipality of Odemira with an area of 75.88 km² and 5660 inhabitants. It is also located on Alentejo coast in Beja district.
Vila Nova de Milfontes is located on the north bank of the mouth of the Mira River . It is inserted in the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina.
Considered one of the best natural ports on the south coast of the country, the early occupation of this stretch of coast dates back to the Iron age.
The role of the location is as an ancient and important seaport, whose main objective would be the exchange and sale of minerals and other materials and food goods with other countries.
Just like other coastal towns in Portugal
between 16th and 18th century it was heavily attacked by pirates who robbed population and ships. Today all is good.
If you want to live here then real estate price average is 2 to 3k/m2.

@millionplacesoneworld there's alot more tourists there now , where back than it was mostly people from Lisbon coming down for weekends and holidays, I didn't really meet many other Europeans. There's more people living in the town now in general with more houses and apartments being built . Accommodation was great value back than , I could rent an apartment for as little as €15 euros a night , now the same apartment is €70 a night minimum. The Dutch have purchased so many of the hotels and rental properties and have driven the prices sky high. And recently in the last 4/5 years there have been many immigrants in the town. It seemed a big more chilled when it was just old Portuguese gentleman chatting and drinking coffee. It's still a great town , my favourite, and medicine for the soul. Everything changes with time, I guess. There's some fantastic restaurants in the town too , I have enjoyed watching one in particular grow over the years. Tasca de Celso, give it a go if you ever visit again . Peace ✌️

The ocean is always cold even in August. All little villages in Alentejo are clean and the almost the walls are white yellow and blue.
Well...about ocean it is subjective, this day it was warm for me, I loved it, but usually I'm only one swimming 😁 I've seen yellow, blue and white, but this was the first place where paint and condition of the buildings was so fresh 💯 Thank you for a comment, appreciate 🙂

It was very average, nothing special and comparing what other places are like in Portugal, I gave 5.5 👌

No, I was born in Latvia and we moved to Portugal 2+ years ago and since that day - Portugal is my home and I hope it will be forever🤎🇵🇹
