    Welcome to the Channel! This channel is about motorcycle track days!
    This video was inspired by you. Out of the questions and comments this was one of the most brushed upon topics. How to determine corner entry speed.How to build confidence in corner entry.
    Besides the external variables as you enter a corner such as
    1. Skill Level (and what I mean by this is as you approach said turn you have brought all the skill you know into the turn. At this moment in time you can not change this variable, until you exit the corner perhaps.
    2. Type of turn (tight, long, cambered)
    3. Conditions (temps, surface grip, weather
    4. Equipment (type of bike, tires)
    What I mean by these 4. At this moment in Time these variables are out of your control. Unless you choose to do something prior to ending said corner.
    No matter what is happening around us we have control of our own internal variables and how we act and conduct ourselves. Mentally and physically.
    Confidence is what helps me in corner entry so be confidence. See you next week! Okay Consistency and Comfort bring Confidence for me. How to I achieve consistency and comfort not he machine.
    1. Identical fundamental controls and body position for that particular corner
    2. Having reference at the point of input. (BP, Pop Up, Roll off and Brakes, Turn in Point, Apex, Throttle Point.
    3. Look at the corner in reverse. Exit, Apex, and Entry. When is the soonest you can get on the throttle. After all the more you’re on the gas the faster you will go. Less brakes more Gas !
    These are the tips I would start of trying out. I would try them one at a time so you know what works and what doesn’t work for you. I am not a fan of making a lot of Changes bc I don’t know what worked and what didn’t work.
    I hope these tips can bring you some confidence the next corners you approach in life. Ride safe, be safe and have fun!

    Thanks for the video. Subscribed! Ill use this info next time im on the track. Corner entry is a big learning point for me. Im trailbraking but i need to go faster into the corners. And like you said, if i have to brake to hard into it, it feels like im going to die. Better to ease off the brakes earlier than brake harder

    • @dabosch11
      @dabosch11  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Corner entry and corner speed is a difficult one. Someone once told me instead of thinking of it as hard braking, think of it as setting your entry speed.
      Once you have some reference points for braking it really starts to build confidence. Thank you for the sub 🙏

    2:19 - Holy Cow, the last time I was on a track I've noticed that I was using my middle finger (the FU finger) to break and I felt guilty for that - I though this is some bad habit. But here we go.

    • @dabosch11
      @dabosch11  ปีที่แล้ว

      the FU finger 😂 I made a recent video titled track day questions that talks about fingers. MotoGP riders use anywhere from 1-4 so I believe it comes down to preference.

    Having braking and turn in reference points are the key. Once you have them then it's just a matter of connecting the dots around the track and your confidence builds from there.

    great video Dean. how about a video to help getting into VIR turn one north, I have a hard time going deep enough on the brakes there. I need to stay on the gas and brake latter, but I find it hard to do in my old age. Years ago it was brake at the 4 or 3 and carry the rear wheel in the air, not anymore :(

    • @dabosch11

      Thank you 🙏 I love the idea! T1 is tricky. This year I will link up with some pros and ask for their advice and tips and ask about T1. I got to ride with CJ Crosslin and Calvin a little this year and gave me some great tips.
      Do you think conditioning could help? Trying to put on a little more strength in legs, arms, core and even fingers to help with the braking force?
      Versrah brake pads have a nice mean bite to them!
      Nothing like the rear tire in the air feeling.

    Is cornering technique for fast corners the same as for slow ones? 180-190+ km/h scares the hell out of me lol. I only have done one trackday though.

    • @dabosch11
      @dabosch11  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heck yea on the one track day! Most never get to experience it. I change it up for corners. With slower corners I don't find myself hanging off the bike as much.I might trail harder into a slower corner where as longer corners I may trail brake just a little. Some factors would be camber/off camber and radius of turn that would change my approach to them.

    Do you have turn-in markers for most corners? I usually only have break markers and trying to apex later in most corners...

    • @dabosch11
      @dabosch11  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I try my best to have an idea of reference points Brake marker, turn in, apex, accelerating out. I don't have them for every single turns. I notice for the ones I feel most comfortable in I do. Like Road Atlanta T5. I should know all turns like I know that one. It will inspire confidence to have points around the track to hold you accountable.
