    Dude, that was a damn fine review and it covered everything that I was curious about, as I'm going to be looking at a 2012 with 80,000 mi on it tomorrow.
    I'm sure without even looking (and I'm not going to) that there probably isn't a more definitive review on TH-cam. Very nice vehicle, even better review!!
    And I was digging the "How Great Thou Art" as sung by Elvis Presley in the background.
    Its' good to hear him and a pleasure to see your review. Two Thumbs Up!!

      Thanks so much for the great feedback! Sorry for the late reply. Did you end up purchasing that xB?

    • @MichaelJohnson-by1tv
      @MichaelJohnson-by1tv 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No.. It was an issue of the financing, they weren't too keen on financing for a loan term of less than two years - I wanted to pay off in like eleven months but since they wouldn't really make much from finance charging if I did that I got denied. But no worries', I found a really well taken care of Honda Accord and although I'm in my mid forties, I'm going to do what I wanted when I was a kid - turn it into a Kalifornia car. Audio by J.B.L. and Nakamichi and two touch screens, fresh interior, no repaint but graphics applied with 3M wrap so it can evolve every season, rims and tires upscaled but not raised or slammed. Good, fun stuff thats easy on the budget but if you look really close all tasty to the saliva glands as well as tastefully done. Keep pumping out the videos, you really did the best one out there and I really valued your efforts!! How about Elvis singing "He gave me a mountain" next time? Oh well.. your style was just fine anyway!!

    I wish I could listen to this review, but whatever sound your camera was making the whole time made me go nuts. Still love your reviews as this is one of my favorite cars and hoping the next reviews wont' have the camera issue!

    There are not a lot of people aware that there is a place under the back seat for laptops, ipads or portable dvd players.

      i must apologize for my ignorance but where in the back seat is the storage?

    • @bknisley22
      @bknisley22 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +David Lyday It's right under the seat. I actually have my gloves in there now. You don't have to lift the seat or anything. Just a thin gap between the seat and the carpet.

    I had an 2008 XB. To this day, it was still my most favorite car I ever owned. Car had so much personality, and just felt unique. Wish I never gotten rid of it. Yours looks wicked nice, Im debating about trading my Prius in for a 2015 XB, same color as yours.

    • @Eliyourcarguy
      @Eliyourcarguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome! We just sold this great little car this past December and it is dearly missed! It was with us for 117,000 absolutely trouble free miles and just under 6 years. I would trade the Prius for the 2015 xB!! I love the Sizzling Crimson Mica. It is a gorgeous color!

    I was devastated to hear that Scion is discontinuing the xB altogether after 2015... I know the iM is supposed to replace it and all it is, is just a Corolla hatchback and it doesn't have half the character that this car has. The xB is the original Scion car that made the brand, along with the xA, which turned into the xD, which is another nice car also gone. Mom's 2014 xB has grown on me and even though I have my own car, a 2015 Nissan Micra SV, I still like driving mom's car as it turns heads and looks unique. The iM won't have that same feeling as the xB, even though I'd still like to test drive one, as it has independent rear suspension which is a huge upgrade to the Corolla chassis. I hope Scion or Toyota resurrects the xB in a couple years, or the xD. With the more modern chassis, and interior, and 2.5L powertrain it would do very well!

      They discontinued the XB because it was too damn reliable.Company was losing money on repairs they could've made if they didn't make it that reliable.

    Hi Eli, is the XB still going strong? I just bought a 2012 same color that an elderly couple owned. They put 5k miles a year on it. So far I love this car.

    • @Eliyourcarguy
      @Eliyourcarguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hi there MikeyMacky! It is doing fantastic. Currently sitting at 107,000 miles and no issues at all. Holding up very well. Sounds like yours has low mileage! I’d driven mine up to 25,000 highway miles a year for the first few years and over the last 2 years I’ve been putting average annual mileage on it. . Easily the best car I’ve ever owned. Never given me any fuss. Congrats on yours!

      Thanks! It is still holding up very well. I am not a fan of the steelies with hubs either. I've thought about upgrading to some factory Scion 16" Alloys. They would really make it look like a different car. Ideally, I'd like to get the 16" alloys and use them in spring, summer and fall, and then use the steelies in the snowy winter months.

    • @Eliyourcarguy
      @Eliyourcarguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! I wipe it down and clean it every time I wash it. The car gets washed once a week at the least. After wiping it down and washing it, I wipe the plastic parts with Armorall extreme shine wipes and clean the aluminum / metal parts with WD40.

    You can always spice up bland wheel covers (like these) by accenting them with body-color paint for a two-toned look. Or even just darker silver paint.

    Hi, liked the review. I’m eyeing a local 2013 xb for sale, great like new condition with 60k miles, too! I love the cargo, larger interior and reliability of Toyota, As it will be a work car and will be doing long distances on a daily basis. I need to consider every review and liked the details of your review.

    Great to see someone treating their car like a lady. I've been doing online research for a new vehicle and was leaning towards a Kia Soul (my son has a Soul so I've had the luxury of driving it on more than one occasion) but the xB is creeping up my list. Anyway, you've got a great looking ride there. Thanks for sharing your video!

      I'll reply for him as I live in the same area and have the same car. These cars go great in the snow. I use all season tires and it goes so well in the snow that sometimes I'm passing SUV's and trucks that are having trouble and they have 4wd.

    Hey Eli, I just bought a 2010 xB and I love it but the mpg has me questioning. I filled up just two days ago and now after 150 miles I’m slightly under half tank. Is that typical or is that a sign of an underlying problem?

    I had good year assurance on my C from the factory. They were alright tires got 28k on before I replaced them with Bridgestone Ecopias. Much happier with the ecopias.

    • @Eliyourcarguy
      @Eliyourcarguy  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are okay tires, but they aren't great. They slowly leak air. If I didn't check the pressure and add air once a week, they would get pretty low. Not sure there is much I can do about it except keep adding air. :/

    • @TJC450
      @TJC450 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well all tires leak a little bit of air. But these seemed to leak more than others. Every couple of days I would be putting air into them it was quite annoying. But just keep adding the air and when it's time for new ones see if Ecopias come in that cars size. They help with road noise, MPG and ride quality. They also aren't that bad in the snow. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8X3GCK?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title

    • @toyotabrony
      @toyotabrony ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For 2011-2015. The 2013-2015 is more high chance of not gettin oil consumption.
      Mines a 2015. With almost 75k miles. No burning oil. Change my oil every 5k miles.

    I bought a 2012 scion xd last year but man i think i made the wrong choice lol. Being about 6 feet tall, I'm a little too big for the xd. Also i could use the extra cargo room. Honestly might see if i can swap it out

    • @nickvanelzen4630
      @nickvanelzen4630 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cdf8821 nope but tbh the xd has grown on me a lot. After doing a little research I found out that 2nd gen xbs are known to burn oil, which the xd does not. I also get much better gas mileage. The lack of interior room doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore. Plus I installed a hitch for a cargo carrier when I do need extra space. Overall I'm happy with my choice now
