Hi guys! Checking out something a bit new and different for the Halloween/spooky series we have going on on this channel. I know we have a bit of a theme of listening to metal and rock music - but I also thoroughly enjoy stuff like this as well. How about you guys?

This is Geoff's solo stuff from his channel. He is the bass singer for the acapella group ,VoicePlay. His wife ,Kathy, is the production manager for both, she is the woman in the video. I didn't notice her the first time I watched it either.
Geoff has about a 5 octave range. The jerky movements of the monsters are due to how they filmed it. The movements were made off speed , and then the film playback speed changed. They were made as movements of Dracula, Werewolf, Frankenstein, and The Mummy.

Geoff was one of the founding members of VoicePlay, an a cappella group - and they are kings of halloween. This year they released Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame) - last year Ding Dong and Hall of the Mountain King. They are all fabulous... go ahead, you're going to love jumping down the rabbit hole. They have 4 songs from Nightmare before Christmas, but you can do those after Halloween.
Geoff has a new Halloween release. JACK'S LAMENT from the Nightmare Before Christmas. ❤❤❤❤ also The Headless Horseman, and Ghost Riders In The Sky. Geoff and his wife Kathy did this all on their own.

I'll have to check that one out - it sounds like he has a lot of interesting takes on things! That's cool that him and his wife did it all on their own.
Well, now that you've heard of him, be sure to check out his catalogue. When Covid shut the world down, Voiceplay had to stop touring and he had a little "extra" time on his hands. I always keep the captions on, because sometimes Geoff sneaks in a little humor. I do it with Voiceplay, too. Less humor, but the descriptions are sometimes very descriptive.
It sounds like there's a lot I need to catch up on!

You just saw him in Oogie Boogies Song by Voiceplay 😊
To be fair… Geoff looks quite… unlike himself as Oogie Boogie 😊 He was also much more animated, not to mention how much more of his range is shown when singing Oogie Boogie’s song. Here he stays mostly in his lower register, in sharp contrast to the belting he does as Oogie.

The lady u r referring to is Kathy Castellucci. She is his wife. This may have been said but he did a cover of jack’s lament as his Halloween song this year. He is a member of voiceplay. He is their bass singer. They did a cover of the Oogie biggie’s song from the nightmare before Christmas. They also did a cover of this is Halloween from the same film. They seem to like that film a lot.
I had no idea he was from Voiceplay at the time of recording. 😂 That's cool that's his wife. A little tidbit I almost totally missed in the video! 🙈
Since you watched Voiceplay's cover of Oogie Boogie you actually had seen Geoff Castellucci before. Everything Geoff and Voiceplay do are top tier but for Halloween themed I suggest Geoff Castellucci's cover The Headless Horseman and Voiceplay's cover of Hellfire from the Hunchback of Nortre Dame. Although their covers of Hoist the Colours and Valhalla Calling would also be perfect

Be silly. It makes life good. When you watch Geoff or Voiceplay be sure to have the captions on, and watch until the end. They sometimes have a little extra. Their cover of Halo is dedicated to a friend and gives you a good feeling for their history.

You actually did react to Geoff before, when you did your reaction to VoicePlay's "Oogie Boogie Song". You may not recognize him because he was wearing a lot of makeup. Now you need to checkout his cover of "Jack's Lament" from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Yes that's his wife Kathy who wakes up and most people get surprised to see her. Check out Geoff on the right, doing the floss at the end. Too fun. This way of multiplying himself to sing all th parts is his usual style, though there are exceptions to that. I think older people like me know the lyrics better. :)
I don't know why I never thought of Chelsea Wolfe as an artist for this month, because she has a number of songs with eerie atmospheric music coupled with her haunting vocals which are perfect..."The Culling" official video, Carrion Flowers official video, or "Dragged Out", live or "Survive" live, both at Oya Festival, or if you prefer she does an acoustic cover song called "Night of the Vampire"

If you ever get the chance watch the original black and white by Bobby Pickett on American Bandstand on TH-cam. He makes some of the strangest faces while performing! I think Geoff may have gotten some ideas from the original.
