In my biotechnology class, we are learning how to test for biomolecules. The method we were taught to test for lipids is by using a "paper bag test". You put the sample you are testing on a paper bag slip and if you can see through it it is a positive result, but if it evaporates and you can't see through it is negative. Now I know this is due to the fact the refractive Indices are similar. I should really be studying for that quiz but here I am watching this 😅
I have a million dollar question to ask. Physics says “Refractive Index (Index of Refraction) is a value calculated from the ratio of the speed of light in a vacuum to that in a second medium of greater density.” I’m asking the physics, “ Why is the light’s speed considered as constant value = 299 792 458 m / s? Why can’t the light become a constant material? What if there is one particular light that has special powers, to exhibit constant speed in any environment? So my last question with regards to these questions is , “ If light is believed to be not changing it’s speed corresponding to environmental factor, the refractive index formula has to be changed right ? “ I’m asking this question to this TH-cam page after watching this single video because, there’s something special about this page’s speaker. I’ve never found a person who is capable enough for answering this question of mine.

Have you done a video on distillation yet? I've been getting into it myself and think it's quite an interesting subject. Separating chemical solutions into simpler components using heat always baffled me until fairly recently. :) Thought it might be an interesting subject for you to cover. Not many people understand how it works, just that it does.
You can also try to exceed the critical angle of the medium with higher refractive index (optical density), thus the light rays will bounce back totally.
small issue, but it's not a big deal: water doesn't really dissolve cellulose, it just sorta replaces the air and causes a structural failure of the material.

to answer your question at the beginning, its because of light refraction when light is traveling through different medians it travels at different speeds so you can see a clear object assuming it is made of a different material that what it is surrounded by
Justo to clarify, light doesn't move with different speeds in different materials. Light always goes at the speed of light. The difference is the propagate velocity.
I think the edges of the media you use for demonstration have as much to do with being able to "see" the air, water, and glass. Of course we don't really see air or transparent materials, we see the shapes if them

Majin Perez ok?
KatieCat Why did you even watch this video?
Majin Perez because I wanted to see how to make things invisible.... this comment was way off topic
Majin Perez plus how did you get all of that from "ok?"
How is that related? Why did YOU even watch this video?
If only I could do this to me skin. I would have so much fun scaring people.
Inxs Chandler watch the whole video, he addressed water
Audrey Olivia and thank you lol
Not invisible, transparent.
BlackCoreTV yeah aw www clickbait!!!! Kinda but it kool
Kapten Jan if something is transparent, you can see through it, but the item itself too, because it reflects light.
Bút if something is invisible, you cannot see it
It's translucent not transparent.
DarkPeter a transparent object does NOT reflect light
Which is real?
Let's make my homework dissapear
Just jordan you will still fail with invisible homework haha
Brad Hay noooooooooooo

Uh just crumple it up throw it in the trash can and prank your teacher

But what if the ink inside top secret envelope reacts with isopropyl alcohol and spreads badly (I want an answer please) am I screwed up after that
random thought it all depends on the ink just write on a paper put the alcohol on it test the reaction with different inks
I thought the same
Pen ink will run. Ink jet and laser will not.
Interesting
My ink has the same refractive index as the paper, HAHA!! You cannot read it now!
... And neither can I....

If you put aerogel into a vaccum chamber you can see it better?
Tresh The Reaper no because the refractive index of air is almost equal to that of vacuum (=1), so not much difference.

Well the product is not available
then if we make a sheet out of iso- propyl alcohol and keep it in contact with paper can we see whats backside of it??
Can you do an experiment with sound?
"But what if we had something that was clear and didn't bend light?"

and pearls dissapear in vinegar
