The focus on this game definitely seems to be story , Jedi survivor esque. Don’t expect to be able to travel anywhere you want in this game. Atmospheric flight doesn’t seem to be something included unless it’s a scripted event or specific area. Just like Jedi expect to be playing on the highest or second highest difficulty if you want any real gameplay challenge. Seems really solid so far. Doesn’t look groundbreaking gameplay wise but if you’re a fan of Star Wars I think there’s very little to complain about looks wise.
Yeah it seems like it's just the Jedi Survivor engine and gameplay loop with the lightsaber and Force mechanics stripped out. Even the whole having a sidekick who can do things with the environment seems like it's straight from that game. But hey, I liked the Jedi Survivor games so I'm sure this will be fun too!
Does it make it fun, or interesting. Not really though. Helmeted enemies should be fundamentally different vs unhelmeted enemies in this instance. For game play, immersion, and fun.
I don't care if this is the best Star Wars game ever made, I ain't paying $70 for a game that is hiding launch missions behind a $130 paywall. Good video though.
It's 110$, and also it's the seasons pass for future DLCs not just a couple missions. Spider-Man did a similar thing where the seasons pass was 30$ more.
I think TIE Interceptors show up as early as Jedi: Fallen Order used by an Inquisitor. I guess that could have been in the early stages of its development. But they use them sparingly in Rebels as well. I guess they just aren’t extremely widespread until after A New Hope.
I really liked the gameplay footage and I hope it gets even better when you play the game yourself and get into the later missions. I like the commando droid

If I had to guess, I'd think the incentive for stealth and not coming in blasting could have something to do with your presence being reported. Since there is a reputation/wanted system. If a firefight takes > 30 seconds (or whatever), maybe your wanted level goes up or reinforcements are called. Or they were showing off mechanics. Regardless, I am mildly hopeful. Feels weird from what I've seen is her knocking out troopers left and right. It's just weird to see her punching them. I think they ahould change the Animations to her stabbing them with a vibroblade, a taser, and but of her gun. Would believe those so much more.
Looks like space watch dogs which I’m excited about, and those space transitions like they did in the lego game is something I love in a Star Wars game, will it be fallen order? Probably not but it’ll be an enjoyable and (hopefully) working game
Man I hope the third Jedi part will have some of this game's features. I really hope for a bigger open world and a longer story with many bosses to fight that have a bigger variety of movesets.
The guess the code mini games likely works off of showing different states of the solution for each code icon, Not used light gray, Part of code but in the wrong spot Yellow, correctly used blue. Let' say the Solution is DBA. First attempt you put in ABC, the result you would get is Yellow A, Blue B, Gray C. So with that bit of info you know 2 of the three code pieces.
I don’t understand the big deal about this. It’s better than having the game stop and show a different screen with a loading bar. Be happy that they didn’t decide do that.
Given that Kay is an outlaw, she probablt isnt at full stock of her gear. They may have her at max stock of her gear and fully upgraded all antttthat can be upgraded for this demo footage. 1:25 ... ... I'm not entire sure, but puching the helmet with noodle arms and barehanded should probably yield no meaningful harm. Try to do that your friend wearing and motorcycle helmet and you'll only have broken fingers. 😂
Stormtrooper helmet are significantly less powerful than bike helmets. In endor they failed to stop rocks thrown by ewoks with the power of a 6year old. So yeah. They can't stop an actual punch from an adult.
This looks just about as "open-world" as the Jedi Survivor/Fallen Order games. Where you can choose where you want to go, but once you're there the mission is pretty linear. Idk, my standard for open-world games is Breath of the Wild. Where even in the dungeons you can choose your own path (sometimes) on how to get to the boss. I would've much preferred the "first Star Wars open-wold game" to be a Mandolorian type thing where you're a bounty hunter choosing your missions.
That isn't what this is. If you watch the other gameplay videos they released, you can see how open world it is. In the other video, she lands on Tatooine in Mos Eisley and takes her speeder bike out of town and into the desert. The game has multiple planets you can travel to, each with a few different locations that each act as miniature open worlds. The linear content will most likely be just certain areas of those worlds, like dungeons, tied to quests.
@@thewatcher7940 That's good to know. I missed the other footage you're talking about. If each planet is like a mini open world I'll totally change my mind about it.
I’m not pre-ordering, for many reasons (usually buggy release, not going to reward the price jacking, waiting to see how much bs is in it), and depending on reviews after release, I may or may not buy it right away, if at all. I might even wait for a deep discount, we’ll see.
Random nit for me is having regular Stormtroopers and not Snowtroopers on Kijimi. Like we see everyone bundled up in winter clothing bc it’s frigid there, the Empire should be too. Just glad Kay at least has a winter outfit, it was so weird seeing Cal walk around Ilum in JFO with just a poncho (or not even depending on your preference). I’m guessing difficulty was scaled down, we all know how good devs are at video games lol. Combat looked a little clunky at times, hopefully that’s more the player and not reflective of how it actually feels. Environments look amazing, and I love the ability to pick up different enemy weapons. Choosing loyalty to different syndicates and pitting them against each other. For those saying Kay shouldn’t be able to just punch helmeted enemies, I agree, but this is something we see in even the best Star Wars media.
I mean... Sure, these kinds of games share a lot of similarities and are relatively formulaic. But when it comes to immersing players in a world and allowing them to fulfill a specific character fantasy, this is as good as it gets.
Massive is doing this and they did Ghost Recon Wildlands. Wasn’t an amazing 10/10 game but it was a lot of fun and the AI could definitely be bumped up to a level where you really had to use all your resources. Could be another fun one with this one
I'm getting huge "The Day Before" vibes with the obviously scripted gameplay combined with the massive scale/quality being promised with this. Gamer's level of trust is at an all-time low. We need this, Star Wars, don't let us down.
I'm personally not holding out for this one. It's Disney filtered through Ubisoft, not exactly the right conditions for a passion project. If it's good and goes on sale, I may pick it up. I just hope Star Wars makes a really good game in the next 10 years
Saying the day before is pretty ridiculous lol. I agree it looks like every other Ubisoft game, but it's not the day before lol. It's not going to not function and be an unreal engine asset flip that's just a wild assessment
Looking forward to this game industry is dry lately and this looks fun. Nothing really wow but something you can sink hours in and play and come out having that itch scratched.. this definitely a game people will call top easy when they've played it on story mode and read guides or watched playthroughs
no AAA game will ever be 20 dollars you can keep crying about it but thats how economics work, btw the game that costs $40 10 years ago would technically be more expensive now because the value has changed... I find this argument so stupid XD
Looks like fallen order/survivor but with blasters, they should have took a different creative and play style to separate the two from feeling too similar
Seems like it could be an interesting game. I definitely won’t be pre ordering it, but I may give it a fair shot. I’m personally more interested in the upcoming Indiana Jones game.
Sadly I'm still not going to support a CEO who used his power to protect sexual predators from consequences. The lion's share of profits will go into his pocket, and the developers would be fired on a good day, so there's no sense in "supporting the devs". I can live without a Star Wars game.
I feel like the animations could’ve been a little better, but this is very early and I hope that they do improvements before final over release. I would like the NPC to act a little bit more human than Bethesda NPC’s. On an edit note, I also think the graphics are not my taste when you look at battlefront and battlefront 2 from EA. You can definitely see the movie aspect to the video game, but this seems like a fan made Star Wars game. But I do like the planets/citys they feel lived in
I hope players will have the option of disabling all the hints and on screen prompts like both the Division 1 & 2. I'm sure they'll be helpful in the beginning, but they are really distracting.
The game takes place between ESB and ROTJ, so I don’t think it’s too early for Interceptors

5-6 months for every game, no exceptions. Last game I bought early was the most recent Battlefront. Glad I could refund that.
@@michaelbread5906Just look at Starfield. I feel bad for everyone that bought it at release and played through it, because now it seems it got big good updates.
I'm starting to notice that reviews aren't really a good indicator for me anymore.
@@michaelbread5906…but they updated battlefront 2 and improved it significantly?? It’s like the one game that actually made a huge turnaround and became the game they promised, lol.
@Anonymous_User93 bro where were you? They "remastered" the og 2004/5 Battlefront like 2 months ago and it was a shit show. I enjoyed the EA BF2 while it didn't have hackers.
Honestly half of this is what Starfield should have been
This. I'm looking forward to Outlaws with the money I saved from not buying Starfield (but still won't buy it on day 1 just in case)
Eh, just the same as you wouldn't expect a Spielberg film from Tarantino, and vice versa... I agree in terms of starfield underwhelmed in areas this doesn't... but it would have been absurd to expect something like this from Bethesda.
- I love elder scrolls, but I'm not expecting them to evolve, and wasn't caught off guard by starfield... I'll just not expect anything innovative from them in future.
The Tie Fighters are so durable... I would have loved that kind of armor in the "Tie Fighter" game... 😆
Or her laser cannons just aren't very powerful.
Looks like the Jedi games and BF2 had an unholy Ubisoft baby
Honestly happy sw fans are getting more games but I agree this feels like it could have been a fallen order reskin/ continuation. Don’t understand why they refuse to give someone a license for online multiplayer/open world game. Either battlefront 3 or a GTA/Red Dead style game would be guaranteed hits as long as they’re not botched on release. Oh well, a guy can dream.
@@angelm7396 I'd rather we get no new games rather than slop. People who are desperate will buy it just for the Star Wars coat of paint slapped onto what is otherwise an incredibly generic and boring game, making this kind of trash, unfortunately, profitable, which means we'll get more slop. Yay... yuck~
That also just plainly steals mechanics from other games

Not to mention the awesome feature of loading screens for landing on planets, like a very wise dumbass once said "it just works 😀👍"
But hey, I liked the Jedi Survivor games so I'm sure this will be fun too!
transitioning and landing looks like a scripted loading screen
Still better than Starfield
Rather a fancy loading screen than a actual loading screen

I think TIE Interceptors show up as early as Jedi: Fallen Order used by an Inquisitor.
I guess that could have been in the early stages of its development. But they use them sparingly in Rebels as well. I guess they just aren’t extremely widespread until after A New Hope.

Ubisoft always has to have the assassin creed wall climbing
It's more like Uncharted. Mechanically doesn't look like it functions at all like Assassin's Creed.
Star Wars survivor and fallen order had that too. It seems more like a Star Wars thing, because you can only climb on certain things.
The sets are beautiful and they're trying to do something a little different- I'm here for it.

Why is the Thermal Detonator so huge? its like 3x the size of what Leia used in RotJ

I will say, as a tac shooter fan, i actually like the slower move speed and heavier weapon handling. Just have to up the lethality.
Kinda makes me want an RC game in the style of Wildlands
Honestly, this just looks like every 3rd person action adventure game we've had over the past 15 years, with all the minimal improvements and gameplay changes over the years tossed in, spray painted in Star Wars.
It was an easy pass before when that price point was revealed, but now it's just forgettable to me.

Feels weird from what I've seen is her knocking out troopers left and right. It's just weird to see her punching them. I think they ahould change the Animations to her stabbing them with a vibroblade, a taser, and but of her gun. Would believe those so much more.

Is the entire planet map traversable via speeder bike or will there be loading screens going from zone to zone? any sources about this info?
The guess the code mini games likely works off of showing different states of the solution for each code icon, Not used light gray, Part of code but in the wrong spot Yellow, correctly used blue.
Let' say the Solution is DBA. First attempt you put in ABC, the result you would get is Yellow A, Blue B, Gray C. So with that bit of info you know 2 of the three code pieces.
"close your eyes, what do you see?"

Flying through the clouds to land looked like a loading screen to me.
I prefer when games do this though, keeps immersion.
I don’t understand the big deal about this. It’s better than having the game stop and show a different screen with a loading bar. Be happy that they didn’t decide do that.
By that logic, every door or hallway is a loading screen too…

Every Destiny player knows that's a loading screen. Only the simple people are fooled
The ship really does look Old Republic. That yellow and orange color scheme is straight out of KOTOR/SWTOR.

So stoked to back in the Star Wars universe! 😊
In Star Wars rebels, they have the T interceptors

I'm getting huge "The Day Before" vibes with the obviously scripted gameplay combined with the massive scale/quality being promised with this. Gamer's level of trust is at an all-time low. We need this, Star Wars, don't let us down.
I think it's just cuz there the demo missions. Demo missions are usually pretty dull looking lol.
The day before vibes ? Seriously ?? I mean this game still has a chance to flop but I think you went too far with that.
