You HAVE to go down the Alice In Chains rabbit hole...one of the greatest bands ever! Layne and Jerry singing together was always like heaven. We unfortunately lost Layne some time back, which is still heartbreaking, and I think it wouldn't take long for you to see why. See "Love Hate Love" live at the Moore for one of the greatest vocal performances ever caught on film. A legend gone way, way too soon.
I saw Layne in a three piece suit at the start of their set on Lollapolooza in 93 and it was like 95 degrees that day! Needless to say he took the jacket tie vest and shirt off after playing Would the first song to start the show! Very charismatic singer and great stage presence! His voice very unique and an unbelievable range! RIP Layne! Layne’s mom said it best regarding his voice: it’s like Nails surrounded by marshmallows! I agree👍🏻 RIP LAYNE❤️
So glad that you've started your Alice In Chains journey. Love Hate Love(live @ the Moore), Nutshell (unplugged) and the official videos for Rooster or Angry Chair are some great songs to check out too. Love your reactions. 🤘👌
The Man in the Box was a man named Doc who lived in a cardboard box in downtown Seattle. He managed to get a job at a local club setting up for shows. One weekend they were setting up a showcase for labels to see the local music scene. Doc got to talking to a lady from a label. They hit it off and she offered him a job. The last they saw of Doc was him heading to LA to work for the label. True story my husband knew Doc very well.
Yes! This is Grunge!! If you ever clean your gutters, that black stuff in the bottom is called “grunge” too. There were many other Seattle Grunge bands who turned the Rock scene upside down in the early 1990s. But other than AiC, the biggest three were: Nirvana Soundgarden Pearl Jam Please check them all out. Never had a single area completely revolutionized the music scene, since MoTown/Detroit in the late 1950s.
ALICE IN CHAINS " LOVE HATE LOVE " IS AN INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE BY LAYNE STALEY ( SINGER) WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. GRUNGE YES WITH ALITTLE METAL. CHECK OUT PEARL JAM MTV UNPLUGGED!! AWESOME REACTION MY DEAR!! 😊💓🔥🤘✌️
Listen them live, they are even better. Layne, oh Layne my sweet, haunted angel. He passed over 20 years ago and his voice still can to grab you by the heart and cute guitarist is Jerry mother f**king Cantrell. Try Love Hate Love at Moore.
Audio from album=no edit. Hes not buried in his pit and his nose does not get shoved in dpit , but , it's ok. Badass band and all their songs are great. Try Hate To Feel or Dirt.

Alice In Chains was the one grunge band that the metal kids would grudgingly accept.
It's OK cause us Alt and PUNKS didn't accept metal either!
