Awesome professional singer/coach reaction and thanks for the English subtitles. I’m a AIC super fan and check everyday for a reaction to them, but for some reason your reaction to this song didn’t come up when I did my search. Your other ones did though
@@leannavocalsI think you will enjoy reacting to Pearl Jam-Black live MTV Unplugged, it’s another Seattle band like AIC/Nirvana and they kill it live. Much better than the studio version
Yeah. A lot of us feel like we know Layne. In truth, what we know is his pain. Layne brings his out in his performance, we hear it and relate to it in our own way. That's what made him special.
Great reaction. I recommend Mad Season 'Wake Up' with Layne Staley at The Moore Theater 1995. Layne was sober that year, and the band was formed with members from Pearl Jam and The Screaming Trees.
Layne was in pretty bad shape here really. They went on tour not long after that had to be cut short. He was high during this set and Jerry had food poisoning. This was I think 6 years before Layne died.
Layne was one of the greats. One of the few that made you feel like what he was singing was coming right from his soul and not just from words on a piece of paper. RIP
i like your reaction. most of what you said were exactly what i was thinking, minus the vocal parts. i couldnt sing😅 i hope you would do more alice in chains.
Thanks so much again for sharing your analysis and reaction with us, as well as taking the time to add subtitles. Jerry Cantrell, the lead guitarist, does have a great voice himself, and has talked about how Layne encouraged him to sing on Alice in Chains songs. You were right on when you said Layne didn't seem like a guy who wanted fame. Their song "Nutshell" has some lyrics that express his feelings about it.
This show is great, but his appearance was scary and he had declined ALOT. VERY SAD, IT WAS SHORTLY AFTER THIS PERFORMANCE HE WENT INTO SECLUSION until he passed away about 6 years later
Jerry Cantrell is the lead Guitarist/backup vocalist, You heard him before in Man in a Box he sings the "Deny your maker" part. He sings backup in alot of AIC songs & even sings lead on a few Layne era songs(he sings lead on most of the post Layne stuff). Jerry also wrote most of AIC's music & half the lyrics with Layne. Yea Layne was in bad shape here, this was in 1996 which was the last year Layne did a live performance. After his ex fiance died later that year Layne became a recluse for the last 6 years of his life until in 2002 where his body was found 2 weeks after he died of a OD(that's how lonely he was).
I love that you are translating for Mexicans, and non English speakers. Jerry Cantrell, and Layne Staley (aka Alice in Chains) meant so much to my generation. Why isn't Mexican music as good as this?
Layne was in another band named Madseason. Jerry has had a handful of solo albums too. He was just on tour think he has another tour coming up as well and his latest album just came out a few weeks ago.
8:34 to answer this ? I've copied & pasted from the internet because, firstly, it's just easier and, second, the explanation i ended up finding was far more succinctly stated than i feel i could have expresed myself anyway so... "what does that mean?" ↓ * Symbolic meaning: "Inside of you" is not meant literally, but represents a yearning to be fully enveloped and absorbed by someone else, potentially signifying a need for emotional support or a sense of being lost within a relationship. * Dark undertones: Given the song's overall theme of despair and addiction, this lyric can be seen as expressing a desire to be completely consumed by something negative or self-destructive. * Context of the song: "Down in a Hole" is widely considered to be about the struggles of addiction and the isolation that comes with it, so this lyric could be interpreted as a plea for connection, even if it's within a destructive relationship dynamic.

And what you were saying about from what you were saying about Layne Staley and you kept saying how you look so depressed he's on heroin in the entire unplugged performance and within I don't know how long but pretty soon after that he ended up dying of accidental drug overdose
Enjoying your contents a lot. Especially the Alice in Chains ones. Thanks for the quality reactions/analyses channel. Take care.
Thank you so much, appreciate it!!
Nutshell from same concert
Jerry and Layne always switch up singing in their songs, sometimes it's hard to tell, they blend GREAT TOGETHER
That switch up to her speaking English for a few seconds caught me off guard 😂
I thought I was tripping at first lol
I think there’s another reactor that does that too 😂
Wait till I start throwing some spanish in the mix aswell 😂

Layne and jerry..is the best duo in music history

I love how the people who actually know about singing love Layne as soon as he opens his mouth
Nutshell unplugged
Yes, please!
Nice reaction. From deaths doorstep Lane paints a masterpiece. This concert would become a tribute to his talent. imo
LOVE HATE LOVE live at the Moore is a MUST watch. Layne in all his power and glory.
These unplugged versions are bittersweet to say the least. Try "Would" and "I Stay Away" if you get the time

Check out Layne's other band mad season - wake up,live at the Moore theatre 🔥🔥

❤❤❤
What does it mean? " All I want to be is inside of you".
I'm sure you can figure it out
He was painting his own death......RIP Lane
Info: This song was written by Jerry Cantrell (lead guitarist) about/for his girlfriend at the time. Certainly can be fitting to Layne's life, though.
Layne was very sick here. Because of his addiction he lost some teeth.
The song isn’t about Layne. Jerry (the guitarist) wrote the song about a girl
To be inside the womb again. To start over

Alot of us feel we know him?
Its called heroin. You make it seem so mysterious. I heard they had to drag him on stage. He needed a, "fix" during most of this show.
What language do you speak? I couldnt identify
He's missing most of he teeth at this point from drug use so enunciation isn't what it used to be. You can year it when he says any "S" in the song.
