learning to air dribble despite the mechanic itself not being overly useful lower down it severely helps with air control which follows over to aerials and saves. Otherwise generally just learn car control and flicks

He was just talking about the Fastest way. Not the best... You get up there quick... But then starting with poor mechs so get stuck. Mechs = slower ranking up... But constant ranking up and your always able to improve on those mechs... Game sense can only get you sofatlr before mechs are needed (to get into positions better or for recovering) Just train both brain and skill
When it comes to party up or solo queue, for me, i mainly solo queue simply bc nearly all my friends who play rl are leagues above me in overall skill level. I keep hitting d1 but loose it quickly bc of this. Another part is that my ability to being 'good' is not consistent at all. Although a lot of times its simply because the opponent is simply better. ... connection is not wired so big lag spike happen in every game.
alot of people say rotation is more important, and i agree, but if it comes to not hitting the ball in the air or not being able to half flip IN GC, mechanics or more like the fundamentals are more important, gamesense comes as you play

That is mechanics and that doesn't come efficiently from simply playing the game. Your 1000IQ gamesense doesn't matter if you're just going to choke when it's time to capitalize.
Flakes showed that power shots aren't required to reach SSL even. You need the car control to confidently move across the field and follow the ball and make accurate, intentional touches on the ball. Power shots aren't needed if you avoid mistakes, counter mistakes and outplay your opponents.
A point starting with "always" is probably a myth. More specifics are needed when explaining mechanics. To get to GC, you don't need to know how to dribble, but you do need to know where to be, how to pass and how to shoot pretty well. Those involve a lot of mechanical movement and practice.
I’ve got so much synergy built up with my buddy I cannot solo queue at all I keep over rotating and stuff and not able to play off the solo queue but when I’m with the buddy I play with the most stuff just clicks and it’s insane
i know someone that uses default camera settings. he had his own settings then one day said "these are the settings RL wanted me to have so i'll use them" and has been stuck on them for a while now...maybe minus the camera shake lol
I don’t agree with Wayton on having unlimited boost on free play off because in my opinion free play is a place to practice mechanics. Unless you’re using it to memorize where the boost pads are.
If you're playing a decent amount of 1v1 (as you should be, if you're serious about improving) then turning off unlimited boost in freeplay is actually just totally useless.

You can be a 1's main, and be mechanically skilled out of your a$$ - still won't mean you play ROCKET LEAGUE well, in the other games modes.. I'm C2~ give or take every season, im not the most mechanically skilled player, i never play 1's AT all. But, i know my rotations well, know when Not to double/triple commit, i look at the game and my teammates, and what they are doing and play Way more patiently because of it. Could i score more goals being able to breezy flick/flip reset on command? Probably.. Would that increase my WINRATE in threes? Probably not.
1s is not about mechanics until the very high levels. It can be if you want it to be, but 1s is mostly about making good challenges and being able to shoot on target. And that's the difference between pretty much every rank until around GC2.
Flakes showed in his SSL without mechanics 1v1 series that reaching the top levels in 1v1 isn't about making challenges. Flakes suggests avoiding risky challenges and not making lots of unnecessary challenges. Flakes suggests keeping in position to cover your net over challenges.

I'm a GC who can air dribble okay, I hit slow and ugly double taps every once in a while and I can get a reset on the ball but never actually get anything useful out of it. Half flips I've had down since they first were discovered though. Can't really Musty consistently, but I've hit a breezi once, in freeplay. 😎

In 2's, deep in the net (back side) is always better. More momentum on the ball vs back post. Don't forget the shallow rotatations that cause half of the goals in mid Champ. Watch airchargedrl if you want proof.

Which video was that? I can't remember him ever saying that. Infact I've seen loads of his videos saying people air roll too much and the fastest way from a to b is the minimum air roll movement and then a straight line to the ball. Also heard him saying the best way to correct yourself in blackout moments of air roll is to tornado spin. But I've never heard him say what you say he said...

Depends on what you mean by mechs. If you're talking about shooting, basic aerials and recoveries and stuff you're correct. If you're talking about air dribble flip reset, there are plenty of GC1s who can't do all that. They start to get filtered out in GC2 though

Absolutely, but people overrate getting mechanics. Basic mechanics can get you to Diamond if you're good in other places (SSL for a few people too)

Yea gamesense and making quicker decisions come with experience, so as a newer player you should def focus on the fundamental mechanics
