    Actually mggamit mo pa rin ang nlalaman mo sa arnis kahit wlang sandata..The stick is just an extension of the arms even w/out stick you can still use combinations... you can substitute the stick with anything like a knife or any stick that you can find if nothing there really is nothing else then you better hope that you can run faster than your opponent hahahaha..

      Maybe you don't know but in DAS we also apply arnis techniques in hand to hand combat it's effective in hand to hand fight(weaponless fight of course).

    You're right! In fact Filipino Martial Arts are far more appreciated by foreigners compared to Filipinos. Mahilig kasi mga pinoy sa IMPORTED na martial arts. Even if they take it negatively, it's the truth...

    The demo shows 3+ stick movements for a single attacking movement with no footwork. Apply this to a free attack... tell me if the stick or the person would still be there past the first movement...

    Arnis can be used without the stick.
    Arnis treats weapons only as extensions of the body.
    The stick is primarily a training tool.
    Also muscle memory is what counts in a fight. Even if kinakabahan ka, if you did enough training, your body should move on its own.

    On second look they are slightly different.
    Whether an art is popular or even known in a country has nothing to do with anything. Japanese Jujutsu was supposedly influenced by Chin Na, a Shaolin art that used grappling. Even today, that art is neither known or trained much outside of China. People trade and countries meet. Obviously, knowledge is exchanged.
    And history is usually very distorted. Like the history of Ninjutsu, Shaolin Wushu, Kalari Payat and Muay Boran

    @lordtains Man.. please.. study more on history of the art than the techniques of the art... I mean,,, this art has its OWN techniques before the Filipinos have studied SOME jujitsu.. and besides... How can you say arnis / escrima was influenced by jujitsu. while Japanese jujitsu arent that popular in our country

  • @lordtains
    @lordtains 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm saying it was influenced at the time it was created. Don't say it wasn't because there's no way to know that for sure.
