    These techniques MUST BE DONE OVER AND OVER, like tieing your shoes since you were age 3. These techniques must be done over a thousand times just to get it into muscle memory, because in a real fight, you don't have to THINK. So please put these techniques down on a DVD or a flash drive so we can perform these techniques OVER AND OVER until such time that a technique is committed into muscle memory. So please, please put these techniques on a DVD or flash drive. Thanks

      Totally agree. focus, repetition and dedication is the base of all martial arts and combat sports. Unfortunately DVD's are a dying format, everything is going the way of digital streaming.

      GM Rodel definitely has a sense of humor when you are training with him. And if you're cool enough, you'll get to sing karaoke with him too.

      Yes, we are slowly getting to the content that Jessie recorded in the Philippines earlier in the year. Content that will last till the end of 2023. Stay tuned.

    When I was 16 YO I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to martial arts. I moved to a Korean and Filipino neighborhood and all the Flips practiced Escrima or Arnis they called it. I saw them drilling so I made some sticks and started practicing. I never heard it referred to as Kali until I got internet!

      Yeah, there's a big debate on the origins of the name Kali. But the term was coined when the art grew in the States within the Fil-Am community.

    All these style will be extinct in no time. Bobby Toboada balintawak is very clean and natural. It is the epitom conclusion of Arnis.

    • @BarryMcConnell
      @BarryMcConnell ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hate to burst your bubble but balintawak has been around since the 1950s and Bobby isn't the only one teaching it. I haven't seen any extinction yet; in fact FMA keeps growing and advancing.

      Balintawak or modern ARNIS the evolution is constant. Gm RODEL is one of the most energetic masters who is still with us teaching us molding us I just feel grateful and blessed to be able to learn. O po

      GM Dagooc is a student of Modern Arnis under GM Remy Presas. GM Presas also once studied Balintawak.

    • @FMAPulse
      @FMAPulse  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How did you come up with that assumption? The styles of the Philippines are alive and well. Balintawak and Modern Arnis are thriving in and outside of the Philippines. There is no conclusion to FMA, it will evolve and continue to grow into the next generation.

    • @FMAPulse
      @FMAPulse  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. It's too bad people only go on general information without researching it further. It's going to continue to thrive in the Philippines and other countries.
