This is the ultimate example of lack of self awareness. He's made a big part of his identity that he can teach you to expand your upper range regardless of age or natural voice pitch. He's a natural baritone that could hit some tenor range when he was younger, but as he got older and his voice darkened he refuses to accept some songs are just out of his range in their original key. A good vocal coach can teach you how to both expand you're range within reason, but also better understand your natural strengths and select songs that suit your natural range or at least sing them in a key that suits your voice.
