I like guitars so much, I just watched an eight minute review in a language I don't understand.
I have a feeling those who left negative comments did not watch this through to the end when he finally opens it up... WOW! That's the tone most only dream of getting through their rig!

These old-school-type Marshalls have so much "mojo" to them, when you use a distortion pedal with it, it integrates so well into the amp's "tubeness" it makes it sound like a natural dirty channel...Even a Metal Zone sounds orgasmic thru one of these, no joke.
it's for plugging your guitar into multiple channels at once, and you have the option to blend the channels with the volume controls.
That is the baddest tone ever at the end!!! Wow!!!

Hallo,
Ich bin seit etwa schon seit 2 Jahren glücklicher Besitzer eines JTM 45. Dazu nehme ich allerdings nicht wie im Video Die 1960 AV (?), sondern ganz klassisch eine 1960 AX. Mit diesem Stack *und den richtigen Nachbarn* zu rocken / bluesn ist genial und wird nie langweilig. Er klingt halt wirklich ca halb aufgedreht (bzw noch darüber) am geilsten, weswegen es sehr laut wird. Werde mir deshalb evtl irgendwann noch den Rock Crusher kaufen. Momentan bespiele ich den Amp mit einer Fender Strat und bald kommt noch ne Gibson SG dazu. Trotzdessen dass ich erst 15 Jahre alt bin, wird dieser Amp glaub ich ein Amp sein, der mich mein Leben lang begleiten wird.
Ich sollte evtl noch ein negativen Punkt sagen: vor etwa einem halben Jahr hat der Amp plötzlich ein knall von sich gegeben und danach hat es etwas verbrannt gerochen. Bin direkt mit ihm zum session "gerannt" und sie haben ihn dann zur Reparatur geschickt. Glück im Unglück: es war ein Garantiefall! Danach habe ich ihn funktionsfähig zurück bekommen und (!!!!) sehr sauber, wenn nicht sogar an manchen stellen poliert - sehr geil!!
***** Hallo, ich finde, der Amp arbeitet hervorragend mit Verzerrern, nehme hauptsächlich die Box of Rock. Allerdings wenn man bei dem Amp einen recht spitzen Sound hat (High Regler weit aufgedreht) und dann die BoR anschaltet, kann man manchmal den Sound nicht ertragen, da er (mit einer Strat) viel zu spitz und höhenlastig ist - meine Meinung. Wenn man aber weniger High und mehr Normal hat, ist der Verstärker mit einer 4x12er recht basslastig und er klingt göttlich mit verzerrern. Allerdings sollte man dann seinen Raum mit Steinwolle oä absorbern, da sonst (ist zumindest bei mir der Fall gewesen) die Bässe durch den Raum "schwirren". Kann aber den Amp nur empfehlen! In wenigen Tagen erweitere ich meinen Bericht, da ich dann noch eine Gibson Sg besitze und dann noch mehr in Richtung ACDC und co gehen kann. Freue mich auf diese schon sehr!! Andere 15 jährige legen das Geld in Ballerspiele - ich in Musikequipment ;-)
***** Hehe, geil! 13 und Interesse an einem JTM! Habe ihn auch mit (ah ne halt, doch mit) Anfang 14 gekauft. Ja, die BoR ist ein "JTM Simulator", allerdings ist der JTM voll aufgedreht (wie Olli auch im Video sagt) sehr laut, aber erst halb aufgedreht verzerrt dieser. Deshalb kann man per Box of Rock "die Sachen die später kommen auch schaltbar [leiser] machen" (Zitat von Olli). Olli sagt in dem Box of Rock Video auch, dass er diese bei fast jedem Video heimlich benutzt :-) Wenn du willst und du hier in der Umgebung wohnst, können wir uns mal im session walldorf treffen. Allerdings weiß ich nicht, wie ich dir meine Kontaktdaten weiter geben könnte, da dies in einem Videokommentar sicherlich nicht so toll ist :-) Aber du findest mich sicher bei Facebook ;-)
Geil zu hören das es auch Leute in meinem Alter gibt die sich auch so gerne für die Musik interessieren :)
Ich bin auch 15 und investiere zur Zeit mein Geld auch sehr viel in Musikequipment, leider reicht mein Geld nicht für so einen teuren Marshall. Da muss ich eben noch ein wenig sparen und einen Teil von meinem alten Equipment verkaufen ;)
The days of Vintage $100 Les pauls and Strats are sadly over. I have an ST80, 1978 model.The most maligned guitars of my childhood (70's) were jaguars. By the advent of early 80's metal you could not give one away. As far as the frets go, the magic is in our fingers, the guitar is just an end to a means. The best player I know has a JC Woolworth Tele copy he bought in 1976 for $20, plays nothing else.
a friend of mine had an engl, i think it was a fireball, i only played it once but i really liked it. and what do you use for a lead boost? like volume wise? because i wanna be able to do a clean solo if i can.

the screamer has a feature called vls, it's an adjustable, footswitchable master volume boost. blackmore and fireball have 2 footswitchable master volumes. no pedals needed except for the engl footswitch. if you want a fireball, i recommend you to get the fireball 100 cause of seperate gain controls. the fireball 60 has only one globally acting gain control, this can be a bit of a problem if you want ultra clean on the clean channel and slam death sound on the lead channel.

if you have a JTM 45, the Tonebone® Classic adds a solo boost and however much gain you need or don't need without changing the tone of the JTM45
@joelg125 No. It looks to be either a Roadworn '50s Strat or a Custom Shop Relic. The American Special has a high gloss finish and '70s style headstock.

i just checked out the blackstar ht-distx. I might go with that if i dont get like a mesa or something. I have an Orange Tiny Terror right now, and it isnt bad, i just want something that can be a little louder if it has to be, and that i can get a volume boost on for a lead.

Two channels... one is a bit bright and one is a bit darker sounding.
Put a patch cable between the two (there are two inputs per channel), then you get to mix the two... it's really the way to work these amps.
yeah they are pretty damn awesome. they feel and sound like amps, not like pedals. i'll get a ht dual + an ehx magnum 44 poweramp as the most compact backup ever soon. btw, the new ht metal pedal is out very soon too. i'd wait and compare them all before buying one.

@Sancho670 das ist eine alte Matthias Jabs Signature (500 mal in Japan gebaut). Olli & Olli benutzen die schon ewig als Demostrat. Penetrant brummende Singlecoils aber wirklich geiler Sound...

Für GnR oder Motörhead ist ein 2203 (JCM800), 2266 (Vintage Modern) oder halt ein AFD100 besser. 2245 ist halt ein Blues-Amp.

I like Jumbo frets and No one can afford pre CBS strats. Post-Cbs the Springy sounds are the best.
DAT. TONE. You can play whatever you want with this amp. Metal, Rock, Blues, Jazz... Get a distortion box and play more harder Metal. Best amp EVER.

i have this amp and a start, it sounds good! but was hoping it would be a little dirtier. Is this clean type tone normal for jtm 45 and single coils? any tips anyone? like a good pedal? or would it distort better with a humbucking pickup? thanks everyone
Yes, it is normal for the jtm45 to be relatively clean when using single coil pickups unless you crank the amp; at that point your jtm45 will be loud. For my preference, this clean headroom is a good thing, the jtm45 will respond very well to most clean boosts, overdrive, distortion, and fuzz pedals! This is the way many players used them to get the classic sounds that made so many wonderful records!😜
You must go till the limit! When the Amp is very loud, it will be dirty!!

distortion pedals sound like crap usually. if you mainly play metal, get a serious metal amp. if you just play metal from time to time and really want this amp, at least dont throw some transistor shitpedal like a metalzone in front of it: blackstar ht dual and blackstar ht distx would be my reccommendations, these guys have tubes and sound pretty decent.
i can higly recommend you the engl screamer. the lead channel is amazing as usual on engl, and the clean and cruch are too. people say that engls cant do clean, but that is complete bullshit (i own one, i know it!) probably impossible to believe for a lot of people that an amp with such an awesome metal amp has good clean tones too. if you have a bit more bucks to spend, check out the ritchie blackmore engl. it's my current amp, and i think it's my amp for life.

dont get the zvex. despite it's extremely high price it sounds like a vst plugin without cab simulation. andertosmusic here on youtube (not chappers, andertons without chappers!) made a very helpful video comparing hi gain pedals, including the ht dual, the ox of metal, the metalzone, the metal muff and some others. check that one out.

@RexSimplex Erträglich vielleicht, aber auf dauer (und es wurden schon sooo viel Amps getestet) sicherlich alles andere als gesund. Ausserdem isses die 45 Watt version... Ich kann nur sagen, wenn ich meinen 50 Watt H&K voll aufreiß, blutem mir die Ohren...

Eigentlich mag ich endweder sparkly cleans, oder crunchy overdrive, hier habe ich keine von beiden Sachen gehört. Das war nicht richtig crunchy und auch nicht clean, sonder einfach nur stumpf und TROCKEN (hängt teilweise mit dem fehlenden Reverb zusammen, aber dann zumindest einen vernünftigen crunch sound daraus machen!). Kann man sicherlich mit einem overdrive pedal gut hinbekommen. Frage ist dann aber ob nicht ein Fender Tweed amp besser geeignet wäre.

Der Amp hat 30 Watt, nicht 45. Er ist auch nicht die ganze Zeit voll aufgerissen. Der 1987 ist z.B. deutlich lauter.
Die Lautstärke hängt aber auch stark von den Speakern ab - "ineffiziente" Speaker wie Greenbacks oder G12H sind deutlich leiser als die üblichen Vintage 30. Setzt das Top mal auf ne 2061CX!! Der transparente, dynamische Sound ist halt nur auf die Art zu erreichen. Ist halt ne spartanische Bluesmaschine ohne Hall und nix für Anfänger. Man liebt ihn richtig oder gar nicht! :o)

Der kleine Jim bringt alle Sounds die das 100w Teil bringt bei ertäglichen Lautstärkepegel zwar nix für ne Mietwohnung wohl aber für nen proberaum ohne allen die Trommelfelle zu demolieren,Ich spiel meinen uber zwei alte abgeschrägte Marshall Boxen 2x12,150w, 8 Ohm mit 2 greedings von celestion 30watt made inUk. Effekte benutze ich keine und oft denke ich bei dem Sound den der kleine bringt an den grossen Paul Kossoff
the JTM-45 has only 30 Watt not 100
