      @Fine Sin Still, it can be said the border between a social uprising and rallying political hooligans isn't that wide anymore these days. Just see what's happening in Africa this spring: The Algerians and the Sudanese got rid of their military dictators. Who are those people? Political hooligans or is it a social uprising? And what about Venezuela? Do they have a social uprising or do they have a massive yellow vest uprising against their socialist government? France loves to strike due to their history and their currently flawed democracy system, but the gilets jaunes can't be just ignored just because they're mainly consisting of political activists these days.
      As a Dutchman I can say this: The yellow vests are only a success in countries with "efficient" political systems that ignore the needs of large minorities like France and Germany. However, these efficient systems need to have solved division from a two-party system like that one in the UK, because in two-party system the right and left are fighting each other instead of the elected elite versus the people. I admit the Anglo-Saxon system is extremely stable and gives the people the feeling of having choice, but is that what democracy really should look like? The solution is lowering the election threshold and to educate both the people and the politicians, because lower election thresholds always means coalitions, a bit more inefficiency at the parliament and giving the people the feeling change is absent, but that really is the way to go. The Netherlands didn't have any revolutions since the Belgians left in 1830. New movements come orderly into parliament when it is time to do so, especially since the 1980s when the _polder model_ broke through. Any revolutionary attempt to take over power just failed, because there never was a radical united front in the first place.

    Emmanuel Macron remains the most popular politician in France, by far. A recent Harris poll found that Macron's approval rating was 38%, compared with Bayrou's 26% (another centrist politician), Hamon's 22%, Le Pen's 21%, and Melenchon's 18%.

    The problem with French politics is that politicians are arrogant and disconnected with the French people. That’s a big problem. They come out of big administration schools, they never were middle-class and a lot of them have never been in contact with normal “real” people, with the 95% of the country, the working people with daily problems, pay the bills, etc. They may have good ideas that’s possible, but they are disconnected from the reality, they’re moving in a theoretical, not practical world, in the select and comfy world of the National School of Administration.

  • @jameswhiteley6843
    @jameswhiteley6843 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    There will come a time in the near future where it's not about whether you're left-wing or right-wing, but whether you're a nationalist or a globalist. We often hear about how awful nationalism is. Was it awful when former colonies wanted independence and self-determination from European powers? No. Was it awful when European powers wanted freedom from Papal rule? No. Is it awful that both Palestinians and the Tibetans want a nation of their own? No. Is it awful when Europeans want to be free from globalist rule? No. Is it awful that some Scottish nationalists want independence? No.
    There is nothing wrong with a group of people wishing to be a majority in their own homeland and to maintain their culture, traditions, customs self-determination and secure a future for the next generation. Many of the conflicts in history have been due to different groups of people wishing to establish a homeland of their own against empires with global ambitions.
    This globalist multicultural agenda (in mostly white countries) is doomed to fail. We are often told diversity is our strength rather than unity? Multiculturalism has turned us into a low trust society where we're constantly walking on egg shells. Multiculturalism means that different groups of people are going to compete for dominance. It will also mean that the native majority will start to feel disenfranchised. Why should we accept FGM, child marriage, polygamy and other norms from cultures incompatible to our own? How does this make us stronger? We can live in a global world where people simply cooperate and trade without having open borders. In Japan, which is more or less an homogeneous society, crime is virtually non-existent and you often see people wearing masks when outdoors. They wear masks when they have a cold to avoid other people catching the virus. This is a perfect example of a high trust society. Japan is hugely successful and is looking at ways to combat their low birth rate without having to import people into their country. Not to mention the fact that Tokyo is one of the world most successful global cities.
    Look at the recent comments made by the Dalai Lama when he said that "Europe belongs to the Europeans". That's upset a lot of lefties and unfortunately they can't call him a Nazi for making that comment. Especially when he's been a hero to so many such as the likes of champagne socialists such as Russell Brand.
    As for liberalism, it is doomed to fail also. Liberalism brings decadence, decadence weakens societies, and weak societies get taken over by more cohesive and organised groups of people. The Persians, Greeks and Romans became decadent in the end.
