This thrift flip is a dream come true! I made my dream leopard print vest from some jeans for this insane clothing transformation!
thrift flips are my favorite way to update some not so wearable thrifted pieces into ready to wear diy sustainable cuties. today I am taking a secondhand denim pant, chopping them up, and sewing them back together to create a one-of-a-kind work of art modeled after the Damson Madder tilly gilet! it may be my best thrift flip yet, enjoy!

You did a wonderful job recreating your dream vest. I have been sewing since I was 7 years old. I especially loved seeing your little boy happily playing to the hum of your machine. My little boys did the same with me way back in the 80’s. When my firstborn was 3 yrs old, he was walking ahead of me in a very congested fabric store. I directed him to stop at the bobbins. To the amazement of an onlooker, he did just that❣️
Gillet = "zjee-lay" at least over here in the UK! LOVE your leopard obsession! x
thank you for the pronunciation! I was definitely saying it wrong haha
Bar soap can be use instead of chalk to mark fabric
Ok, this is awesome! I can't believe you turned a pair of pants into this awesome vest. It's adorable on you!!!!
Your leopard vest looks amazing! 🐆♥
You did such a wonderful job on this vest, thank you for sharing with us how to re use these items
It looks great. Officially inspired over here. I love how it looks with the oversized button down. It elevates it.
OMG!! This turned out SO CUTE!! I love your thrift flip videos!! Thanks for sharing!
I am so glad you are back. ❤
It’s so nice to have you doing your Thrift Flips again! I see you’ve really come up in the world; I remember when you had to use a curling iron to press things!! 😁 please keep making these videos; you flips are so inspiring! 🥰
Love the vest!!! Was SO excited to see a new video 🥰 missed ya!
Very cute! I love that you are still on TH-cam with your creative expression!
awww thank you!! I am so happy to be here!
Yeah, Craftsy is useful. Glad to see you back.
I’m in such a bad mood. Very glad to see you back ❤
Thanks for being a creative sewer and using what’s available to measure and make your vest. People think they have to buy expensive equipment in order to sew. A straight line is a straight line no matter what you use to make it with.
Well done for making time to do something that you obviously enjoy. Your son could entertain himself for a little while. That makes things a bit less challenging. You definitely define upcycling, and the end result looked great on you with your shirt and leggings making an outfit anyone would be proud to wear. Your thrifting finds were perfect for that project. You live in your own house of fashion. woo hoo.
Arghhhh i love the thought of making clothes like dolly partons song, making your kid a coat of many colours, that would be so cute, only thing, i dont want kids 😂😂😂 i learnt a lot from your videos to alter my clothes though to fit perfectly 😊
That vest looks terrific on you🎉🎉🎉 Good Job! Great inspiration for your viewers😊
thank you!!
Thank you for the diagram showing how you decided where to cut. That made it easy to follow what you were doing.
Hi. Awesome. I love your videos. More, please. Thank you for sharing. I love recycling.
This was a ton of fun to watch. The vest turned out so good and looks fantastic on you. Loved how you used what you had, including the "tools". Proof, that you can make do with what you have around the house. Totally awesome!!!!😍😍😍
It’s fabulous!

Very inspiring! Cute results too.
thank you! I'm so happy with how it turned out!
I love that you show all the steps and details for making all your flips and putting them together. I'm so inspired! He was given authority, glory, and sovereign power; all peoples, nations, and men of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Amen❤🙏
very Nice vest!

Me encantó, y sobre todo que estuviera la traducción en español, genial!!
Long time no see ❤
Just a hint in future if you run out of marking chalk use a sliver of bath bar soap it works great and washes out.
great tip! sadly i rarely have bar soap haha
You did a wonderful job!
Nice job!
Beautiful
thank you!!
You can use a pice of soap to do your markings.
Very cute, you did great!!
thank you!! I’m super proud of how it turned out!
You are so creative!❤
aww thank you!
You can use a piece of soap in place of chalk too, just be sure to wash it off, lol.
wait this is so smart! if only I had bar soap in my house 😂
Came to make the same suggestion 👍😁
If you don’t have chalk to mark fabric use a thin piece of bar soap and it washes right out of fabric
a one-pencil household 😂
we’re really more of a pen family 😂😂
Really cute, I like yours better than your inspiration!
