They turned him into a buffoon, which he obviously wasn't just by watching this brief interview, the show turned into a Black minstrel show, that's why John Amos left the show, Norman Lear was the cause of the show demise, yes he's definitely a legend for creating some of the best shows in television history, but he also stole a lot of people ideas that never got the credit that they deserved!
