    Bravo to you for actually using a model with Hooded Eyes! So many of these "tutorials" feature models with normal lids! The effect of the socket created was nice. I've also found the shaping and filling in of the eyebrows is so key for the overall look of hooded eyes as well. I would have liked to have seen something done with those.

    I only disagree with the lavender colored eye shadow on the inner part of the eye. Yes you need a lighter color there but nothing with any purple. That part of the eye is the darkest and it needs to be brightened.

    I would LOVE to see how your products look on Asian skin. My mother (68) has given up on makeup since she feels it's all to complicated and many western makeup aren't made to suit Asian skin colouring (yellow tone, but tanned, Japanese) and many of the Asian makeup lines focus so much on "whitening" the skin which is a look she detests. She want simple, affordable, natural looking makeup to ENHANCE the features rather than covering everything up and ending up with a mask look.
    Having seen all of your youtube tutorials, I think she would love your products. You used "real" women who look natural, elegant and easy in their own skin. Your products do enhance their own beauty. I would love to purchase her your products if I was convinced it would work on her skin colouring.
    Areas of concern for my mother: hooded eyes, brows, some age-spots, eye sensitivity which prevents her from wanting to use eye liner/mascara as her eyes water.

    A very well explained video and the makeup created a very nice, finished effect on the model, - but the lighting in the video is terrible!- It is hard to see the three sections mentioned, the colours used,or to really see the result of each step. FRUSTRATING! Much better lighting and some real close ups of the eyes themselves would make this much clearer and much more helpful! Also - if this artist could do a makeup for older women with dark eyes who wear glasses as well as have hooded eyes, I'd like to see it!

    This model has a TON of real estate between her eye and her eyebrow. Most women with hooded eyes are not so lucky. If you want to do a real tutorial, then use a model with a more common hooded eye situation. This makeup technique would not work for a lot of women with hooded eyes.

    Your model is lovely!
    However I believe the choice of using a shimmery eye shadow is incorrect for our age group.. it increases the "appearance of crepe` eyes and of course this is the one thing women in their 50's + wants - also I felt that your artist should have used an upwards sweep of her brush instead of the downwards sweep... this tends to give the allusion of the eyes dropping instead of lifting them
    Also the use of creme` eye shadows creates the same crepe` problem.. better to use flat toned powder based eye shadows!
    Again...your models finished appearance is lovely.. however, I just feel that a few slightly different choices in colour and technique would have made a huge difference.... all for the better.

      @Love-mk8vh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vicki Trewella Didn’t understand your comment about cream eyeshadows. Could you please elaborate?

    Lovely model and skin tone. However, in my professional opinion her brows were in great need of correction, which is where the eye focuses when they are not. And with respect, treating a hooded eye like an Asian eye wins much better results, along with tight-lining the upper lash line for the mature woman. Thank you.

    Nice effort but wondering why the model's half moon shaped eyebrows were not corrected? The shape is way too round, the brows are too light and sparse. I must add the model is a very pretty lady.

  • @doula2010
    @doula2010 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your model's hooded eyes are like mine. The skin under my eyebrows has fat in it and hits my eyelashes. I have alot of area between my eyebrows and where I should have my crease. I do not think I need a browlift, but would love to have the upper eyelid surgery for hooded lids. Mine are pretty severe. I take care of myself and my skin, but am 65 now. When I was 45 I had spent two years recovering my health after an illness. Looked in the mirror and was totally blown away by the horrible bags under my eyes. I decided to have a lower lid lift. If I had anything to tell women if would be this...sometimes cosmetic surgery is the only way to make a difference. I am so glad I did it for myself. I can not image spenting 20 years looking 20 years older than I did. Now that I am 65 I still have no bags under my eyes . However, Botox would not be my thing. Yet I would never get down on another woman because it was something that worked for her. Remember too that good skin is enhanced by good care in all ways. Eat organically, drink good water, no smoking, and make sure to check your vitamin D levels every year and supplement. Vitamin D makes your thyroid and many other things work in your body, but being in the sun every day to get it when you are older may not be good for your skin.

    The Model is so beautiful.. I would have much rather seen a better application on her hooded eyes.. I have eyes like her, I would never put a lavender silver in the corner of my eye it would make it worse as we get older this color is already a purple color, as well as the application of the mid tone color on the hood came down to much making her eyes drag downward instead of up.. check out hotandflashey her applications way better.. just my thoughts

      Hi Cynthia Our Silver Mist Lid Colour is a hero product for us and older women who buy it absolutely love it - it creates a fabulous and subtle effect on the lids and is in now way purple. You are entitled to your opinion - but at least 118 people so far agree that Mary's hooded eyes are much improved!

    The model is lovely, at 54, why does she have no creases on her forehead & why are her brows so high? I'm guessing botox. I wish they had used a model with creased forehead & with a hooded eye, the brow would be lower too.

    • @LookFabForever
      @LookFabForever  9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No Botox - I promise this is how Mary looks - I am 67 and have no lines on my forehead (I introduce the video). I would also NEVER have anything injected into my face (or have it surgically lifted).

    • @carolinet1454
      @carolinet1454 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Tricia Cusden Thanks for clearing that up! I wish I had high brows like you & Mary. You are both lovely women! I'm with you - I'd never have anything injected into my face, nor would I have it surgically lifted, but I will admit to standing in front of the mirror & lifting my brow so see what it "might" look like haha.Love you videos! Thank you.

    • @fallblossom5
      @fallblossom5 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +c thompson The model does have frown lines. I agree her brows are too high and am not sure why. Maybe overplucked? I am 47 and have those frown lines plus hereditary 'number elevens'. My eyes are downturned partially hooded and are difficult to give the illusion that they are not. All I can do is enhance them a bit which does make a difference..

    • @Glamma_Karen
      @Glamma_Karen 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +c thompson I'm about to turn 47. I have no forehead wrinkles and you can only see the lines around my eyes when I smile. Why would anyone who took care of their skin have a bunch of lines and wrinkles?

    • @mfjdv2020
      @mfjdv2020 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +c thompson People don't necessarily have lines or wrinkles at age 54. I didn't have any at that age, I'm now 63 and still hardly have any lines or wrinkles (but unfortunately sagging a bit under the chin now). Everyone ages at different speeds. Key factors are first and foremost your DNA, then a good diet with lots of skin-friendly foods, plenty of sleep, regular outdoor exercise and drinking at least 2-3 litres of water a day (more in cold and warm weather). And of course everyone should start a serious skin care routine morning and evening as early as possible, preferably age 20 or under (I started at age 25). Like Tricia, I wouldn't care to have any surgical face lift or any injections in the face. These things can go horribly wrong.

    Although the video is “attractive” in that it uses a different photographing technique From what one he usually sees, it’s just not good for this type of a demonstration. The white background is too strong, and overwhelms the lighting of the face. And the camera is too far away from the face. The make up itself is lovely.

    camera placement is off - all we see is a hand blocking out the model’s face.

    Yikes, she looks like she has 2 black eyes. I would think this would not look good at all close up.

    Why no mascara? I would think that mascara would open her eyes a little ,more, just my opinion

      Hi Vashti, thank you for your comment! This video is primarily to show and highlight the eyeshadow look we would use to define hooded eyes. We would more than likely go on to apply mascara and a little Instant Bright Highlight on the brow bone to complete the look. If you would like to see full makeup application tutorials, please see the more recent videos on our TH-cam channel which tend to be longer. Many thanks, LFF Team x

    Would have liked to see the model closer and without that "milk glass pane effect".
    And, I feel cheated when the model only laughs in the after picture.
    Moreover, the narrator talks as if having hooded eyes is the worst thing that can happen to humans.
    After all I spy a little positive effect.

    It's impossible to see what is going on as the make up person's hand is between the eye and the camera. Maybe check out the way other people make make up videos? Can't learn anything if we can't actually see what's happening.

    I couldn't watch to the end of this because the makeup artist irritatingly kept pulling the models face over and I wanted to slap her!

    Ditto to what Roxane said! Lovely look I would never have thought to put eye shadow so high up to eyebrow! Thank you so very much for showing us this!😍
