“Sri M.D. Ramanathan’s Carnatic Music renderings are always praiseworthy. This ‘Facebook’ members are happy to congratulate him for all his contributions to our holy ‘Carnatic Sangeetham’. - “M.K.Subramanian.”
🙏🙏🙏 To the Three Greatest Maestros and Legends of Karnataka Sangitam. To experience their class and mastery, this rare recording cannot be missed. Neither Lalgudi Mama or Mani Iyer Mama exhibited any kind of unnecessary mannerisms on the stage of concerts. But, MDR Mama developed both mannerisms and idiosyncrasies on the stage of concerts. This recording is one of the rare because it is without those two.
A legend in his own rights . Like the flow of Ganges mesmerises with his depth of versatility and dedication with devotion par excellence. A rare breed not known when another genius of his like will ever appear again.
The beauty is MDR was not a man to show thalam always, as he is more focussed on the manodharma aspects and the accompanists may not require it. Still, layam is kept intact...Wonders of these legends.
Mani Iyer's mridangam was just fantastic, whether it was GNB's briskness or MDR's languid flow. Nobody else used the pause to greater effect than he did. He knew not only when to play, but when not to.
This concert's recording is very old vintage .

Yes true . Sri Palghat Mani iyer is one and only. The great legends, MDR and LGJ ,if they come together, it is definitely outstanding.
