M D Ramanathan was so unique by his style of singing... with extremely deep, booming voice totally different from his appearance and rendered songs at very slow pace, thus the audience can catch every phrase of a composition and gauge its meaning. Class rendition of the Dokshitar kriti - 'budhamaasrayaami satatam' in nattikurinji ragam. Presented a wonderful Charanam, and the swarakalpana . Pranams to the soul of erstwhile maestro MDR. TNK a little bit off , in concentration, when following during raga alapanai. MSG would have been ideal.
