Soon after, Isaac awoke to see his mother slleping, while father took money out of mother's purse and leave, never coming back. The mother after a waking, realized what had happened and went into a breakdown, she knew her and isaac's life were now tougher, and in her desprit strugle to find peace in her situation clinged onto religion. She became mad, if a christian show said to video games caused violance, she would barge into Isaac's room and take away all his video games, then his toys, then his books, and so on and so on. One day in mothers madness, she heared a voice, was it god, was it her hullicination, was it the tv, no one knows nor did it matter. The vpice told her to kill her son, kill her son then maybe, just maybe everything will be alright. Mother took a knife from the kitchen and went into isaacs room wanting prepared to kill him. In Isaac's panic he struggled and soon found a hidden basement under his carpet and jumped down, her mother reached in trying to get him but she could not fit, and soon gave up. In the basement Isaac had hulicinations of his life story (the game). And when he woke up(the level home) he blamed himself for making his parents fight, his own mother tried to kill him, he had no right to live. As the mother slept with the knife in her hands, passed out in front of the tv, Isaac jumped in the chest his mother keeped all his forbidden toys she taken from him. As the air in the chest decreased, Isaac's body turned blue, and soon he hullucinated again, of his past, his present, and what his happy future could have been. Mother woke up the next day, coming to her senses and throwing away her knife, looking for issac hoping he's ok, only to find his blue corpes in the chest she kept all his happiness locked away from him. Isaac's soul saw all this, and as he quietly watched his mother cry, he slowly accended, losing all his past regrets. Isaac sees nothing but white, he is in heaven. Reason being isaac thought the divorce was all his fault and acted different to avoid upsetting his mother -Isaac crawled inside the toy chest to cope with his situation and not understanding why his father was gone and his mother was so different -It was probably a good 2-4 weeks before his mother finally found his BONES inside the toy chest as missing posters were put up and his body was fully decomposed -The boss fight with mother ingame where you hear mother shout isaac after each phase is literally her screaming out trying to find isaac as he had been missing for some time. The final time she screams isaac is her finding his bones.

Idk man, I think it’s more specific religions and the way people endow there children with it. If you treat religion like a requirement, it’s bad for a kid, but if you treat it like an open book, it isn’t so bad
Nowadays Kids arent confronted with anything and look where it lead us. Dont get me wrong, no Child should endure any kind of Trauma, but facing your Fear and learn to control your dark tendecys isnt a bad thing.

Don't take it literally. Take it biblically. "The Basement" was Isaac's hell for the sin of committing suicide. Each character an aspect of his worst traits, real and imagined. The monsters that inhabited the basement representative of an old game used to play, and things he remembered from other games. The "final bosses" representative of Isaac's sins, real and imagined. By conquering his dogma and confronting The Beast behind the walls of the Basement, Isaac has absolved himself of his sins and has been granted passage into heaven. What is heaven to a five year old child who has only known a Chaotic household? Isaac and his parent*s* living together in a house on a hill. Happy and together.
This in my opinion what THE BIGGEST TWIST IN GAMING HISTORY!! I’ve literally waited YEARS, playing every Tboi game and dlc to see what the true ending was! This completely threw me off! The fact that it was ALL a story. This is why I will always love this game

A lot of this isn’t even lore accurate. His mom never actually wants to/tries to kill him and his dad doesn’t solely destroy the marriage.
