I have seen this car ultimately maintained n owned by dairy owner in bengalore I used to see this car interior amazingly n wished I would have this car one day about 50 yrs ago
A very nice specimen there. Many cars of the day had a 6 volt electrical system (battery), but with the 12 volt system, with a negative earth, an alternator could be fitted easily. Built at a time when petrol (gas) was still on rations, so a small 4 cylinder engine was the most popular choice, even for a large family...
The Oxford was an upscale Minor. All but the grille and front fenders were identical on either car. Because of the Oxford's more substantial looking front fenders and grille styling many wrongly assumed it was larger than the Minor. People have occasionally put Oxford grilles on their Minors over the years.
Nah. Hindustan built these from 1954 until 1959 as Hindustan 14. They were replaced by the Ambassador, which was adapted from the Oxford Series III and ran, with some improvements, up to 2014.

My first car, 1500cc side valve engine, the reg number was TVT 360 , It was a great car.

How did they squeeze the MO's 11 inch longer wheel base into a standard MM, then? And where did the extra 4 inches of height come from?
The Oxford is definitely significantly larger than the minor and it would surprise me if any body parts were identical

Typical of Lord Nuffield, This one uses the cheaper to produce side valve power unit. 😑 No OHV here.
