The first car I ever drove. My dad bought one in Malta in 1958 (Reg 13440) and brought it back to the UK in 1961. I've always preferred column change, and have owned a Wolseley 4/44 (TPX848) and an Austin A50 (TSY998).

Good little car! I am putting back together my Oxford series 3, 1957 half tonne utility. It will have a new tray and rebuilt 1500. I got rust removed from sills and some chassis rust and now its 100% rust free. Bought a spare oxford parts car for 100 dollars. Gonna be GREAT when I get her back on the road...

Fantastic solid engineering! It's no wonder the Indians adopted it as their national car. The contemporary Ford's and Vauxhall's were rusty and weak in comparison! Cresta or Victor, Consul or Zephyr were not a patch on the Morris Oxford.

Other than in comfort, ride quality.

Vauxhall later took hold in India with the Hindustan Contessa (Victor FE). Fiat also did well there with the 1100, which were very common as taxi`s there, as well as the Uno later on, which they built under licence there (albeit not to European standards)..

Probably these cars were known to be as Landmaster in India - great cars - very nostalgic.

It's the immediate ancestor of the so-called "Queen of the Indian road" - the Hindustan Ambassador which was in production between 1957 and 2014 with only minimal external changes; this model was launched as the Hindustan Landmaster in India but was relatively short-lived, replaced soon by the Ambassador based on the Oxford Series III.
The Morris Oxford series must've sold many more units in India over its long production run in India than in the UK.

Those were the days, no one believed in closing doors or boots back then...

Yes. I can't understand why, at 2:16, they show the boot too full to close
      properly.

False. Morris oxford, invented in 1912 by United Kingdom. The Hindustan Ambassador was off the Morris Oxford Series 3
