Just found you and so glad about that. Have enjoyed watching a few of your quilts and its so refreshing to see another quilter who thinks outside the box. Love your video/editing process and enjoyed the background music too. Look forward to watching more.
I learned bias tape from mom, maybe 50 years ago. Last year I bought bias tape maker tools, never used them! I want to make a celtic knot quilt one of these days.
You crack me up! Confidence is the name of the game. Also, you're not afraid to be creative and you don't sweat the details. You show how to make bias binding, even though you don't know how to use the tool. Hold the little do-hickey handle as you pull it away from the iron. You're less likely to burn yourself that way.
Love this! I too pieced a strippy quilt from my scraps and then 'wrote' on it with bias tape in a swirly design and it was so much fun! Asymmetrical use of bias tape is perfect here!
I’m so glad you showed us how to add bias tape. I have a quilt that is completely finished, but needs something…this design just may be what it needs. Love it!
Denim also makes fun rag-style quilts where the seams are out. I like to use up old torn towels and bits of flannel as the batting. You can mix traditional and rag-style elements. Like when I saw your columns, I thought that would be a great place to put a rag style seam! Subtly create that visual column.
I don't know when you made this quilt, but I have been making denim quilts for a few years now. I started during covid and I made 36 in two years! Had so much fun too! I never thought about using bias tape as a design so thanks. I just put people names on them but will try your idea! Thanks again
I love this - the pattern, your take on it, using the design board is something I am open to learning how to do that. I have the rulers to do this, and they might get used now!
Dear Dave, I cannot help but wonder if your freestyle modern quilting style has bumped up your Momma’s quilting skills and decisions. You are an Inspiration!!🧡🥸
I feel it has some Boro inspired aspects to it, with the indigo colors from the denim. The bias tape adds the twist to modern. Nicely done. I'm curious about your quilting journey and how you got started. I'm trying to self teach atm.
Love the finish!!!! I cut oodles of denim squares this summer but have hesitated on process, so help please! Appears you used .5 seam allowance and pressed open, thanks for that. Did you use denim, upholstery or other thread? Already bought jeans needles in 16 and 18 so I could experiment. Any pointers are appreciated!
Really finding you to be a breath of fresh air, Dave. 🌻 Every week I get together with a bunch of gals over Zoom and I shared your channel with them. I proposed we do a block-swap with your cyan-a-whatever blocks you did because it was stinkin’ amazing! Anyway, Love love love this one. Especially loved the texture/gradient-look of the different denims. Beginning to end, how long did this one take?
@@stitchpenniesofficial thank you! block swap with cyanotypes would be cool!! Tbh I don't remember :-/ by the time the video comes out, the quilt is already a few months old, but I do the majority of the work on the weekends... I wanna say two weekends? :P
I love where your creative mind goes! I totally get you. I'm @formersupermodel if you want to see my quilts. I'm not a stalker, just a cosmetologist lol
Amazing

When I watch your videos, I always say "I never would've thought of that." Thanks for the inspiration.
A nice one!
I love your designing ideas they are refreshing😊
Gorgeous! The different shades of denim and your random piecing make the fabric look luminous in places. Love it!
I love your videos...they inspire me! Your quilts are unusual and gorgeous. You need to enter some quilt shows!
Very nice quilt. Thank you for sharing.

I bought quarter inch bias tape that is fusible. I’m going to make a Celtic knot design for a pillow.
@@cathynuytten798 good idea!
Never sure where you are going when you start but always love the end results..keep it up 😊

I've been saving jeans for a long time. I'm planning to make a jean quilt for my grandsons. Love what you did with this one 💓

I really like this, and just look what u saved potentially from the landfill! Awesome job!
I think I would applique a school of fish swimming down the middle of the stream. Cool quilt.
Love your style!
I've been quilting since 1990....
Thanks for your
Idea!
Bonnie Ohio 😊
I love it! You did a great job! Love the bias tape addition!
I admire your creativity and look forward to more videos.
Awesome!
I think the loop at the broad side lets you pull the bias maker without getting burned from iron steam. Love the demo...so awesome!
Yes!! The loop is the puller
I use a straight pin to secure to the ironing board so I can have more freedom with both hands to assist an$ municipality the bias and then iron

Love the Quilt. I would call it if I make one parting of the waters.
Love this! Haven’t finished reading comments but the loop thingy is actually an puller - to prevent burns when ironing.
Absolutely Fabulous!!!!
I really enjoy your editing style! You do such a great job showing your process:)
I love your perspective, this is very unique!
I like it a lot
That looks great, I love the modern art look of it.
It seems to glow! Bravo!
Just found you! Awesome work! I have to say your mix of denim is the best I’ve ever seen ❤
So creative and the shades of denim are beautiful!
Inspiring creation ✂️🧵🪡 truly a work of art. Thank you!
That looks great. I'm sure it's a lot of hard work but you look like you have fun doing it.
Your videos are refreshing. Limited dialogue so we can concentrate on your sewing.
Looks great Dave! You are very creative.
You can bend it like Beckham!😂🤣😅🤣😂

Love the stache
First time I've come across you and I've subscribed. X
I use quarter inch steam a seam to stick my bias tape down and find it helps to starch my fabric before I cut it. Love your denim quilt!
So cute with that mustache!😉
Crystal Heart sent me. 😊
did she give me a shoutout or something ? I missed it ! 😅😜
@@davescraftroom yes, during her Friday live.

So the hook is to hold onto while pulling the bias tape maker so you keep your hands away from the iron.
What seM allowance do you use with denim?
I think I did a quarter inch although I don't really remember 😅👨🏻
You amaze me, and I feel so inspired after watching your videos. How many pairs of jeans did this take?
I think I cut up about ~six pairs of jeans but I didn't use all the denim, I still have leftovers for another quilt 😜👨🏻
