  • Singapore's three local banks -- DBS, OCBC and UOB -- have rolled out new anti-scam features to protect customer funds from scammers. One feature will allow bank customers to lock their money, so that it cannot be used for bank transfers or online transactions. To access these funds, customers must verify their identity at a bank branch. The banks said the additional measures will help prevent customers from reacting impulsively to scammers' demands.

Stricter punishments are needed to punish criminals involved in scamming and hacking.

The CEO of DBS, OCBC and UOB each earns about 7 times the salary of PM lee. The poor PM is terribly underpaid.

These are Pro Profit and Revenue, Not Pro Customers' Banks. Its interest rates were pathetic n unworthy. Wonder why people still place their hard earned saving there?

Banks as a rule should compensate 50% or more as they r all supposed to have KYC in place. An untrusted customer should have his privileges restricted and if the bank fails to detect a scammer, then a bank is equally liable for his misdeeds. Banks should also scrutinize the KYC practices if the counterparty banks they deal with.

Other than enforcing, the law should increase the penalty against the scammer

Not all MPs whom I believe are overpaid with so many governing a tiny state. I could still vividly remember a VVIP in the 1960/70s saying that ministers should be paid highly to prevent them from corruption. Why were they selected for election???? Corrupt People are not suitable to be ministers.I was a former bank manager and swore to the General Manager that I did not cheat the bank or any customers a single cent and proposed to him to call a meeting for all managers to swear a statutory declaration that they were corrupt free, but the GM did not adhered to my request. I do not know why.
