@The Clay Way. lol, Clay I have a 2010 Patriot. I've mentioned this issue before on a video you posted where you talked about Jeep Patriots or Compass issues. My ''4WD! Warning Light'' comes on every time I start the vehicle & travel more than 1 mile. I popped off the TIPM from it's ''Hold-Down'' Brackets, oh yea the TIPM. (TIPM-''Fuse Block'' to all who do not know what the TIPM is). At any rate, the lite stopped coming on over the course of a week, so it has to be one or more harness's, that plug into the bottom of it with corrosion issues. I do know which Harness it probably is but I just wanted to mention it to you and any folks who are here & have any of the Jeep Lines made after 2003, because you are about the only technician here on TH-cam that address's all those Jeep Patriot, Liberty, or Compass ''Wiring Issues''... I don’t remember reading this question Monty, so I’m very sorry about not answering it . If I’m understanding correctly you’re wondering where TPIM is The TPIM is the fuse box. I’m assuming you already checked the wires down by the driver side floorboard and made sure they were not broken and corroded and you’ve also checked the little fuse box down there on the driver side front near the headlights to make sure the relays were not corroded? Did you check them? If so did it certainly a possibility your TPIM as bad But I’ve never had to change one of them before. @@sharpcarco Hi, thanks for the reply. I think it was over a year ago when you mentioned some of the fixes. I've checked the door jam, fixed the relay issues and fixed two grounding lugs inside the engine compartment. Lifting up on the TIPM was an idea I had about a month ago. It did work. All the warning lights that were on went off, the 4WD! light would stay off, so I pushed the TIPM back down on the 4-fastener posts & the warning lights started to come back on whenever I'd start our Patriot. Since the issue is there in the harness's, I'll tackle that maybe this coming weekend. I actually just told my Wife that I might just contact you & ship the Patriot to you out in Grand Rapids from here in Pontiac simply because you're like the only guy I know whose got a handle on these Chrysler Vehicles & their wiring issues... You're the best... MD...

I have a 2016 Jeep Patriot Latitude 2.0 and ive been having issues with all my dash lights coming on periodically like a damn X-mas tree! I've repaired MULTIPLE things trying to fix this issue the dealership told me first it was the battery, so replaced it and it ran fine for 3 to 4 days and then the issue came back so took it to the dealership and this time they told me they where a 100% sure that the issue was my TIPM which was a very expensive repair it costs me $1850 to replace the Tipm so after replacing the TIPM it drove fine for about a month then the issue came back so took it to the dealership snd they acted as if they didnt believe me that the issue had came back so i had to leave my vehicle with them for almost 2 weeks while they tried to recreate the issue ( cuz I could never tell when the xmas tree light issue would come back it happened when ever it wanted to) it took them driving my vehicle for over a wk and 1/2 b4 they where able to see the issue. They called me saying that they where going to send it to another local Jeep Dealership that had more experience diagnosing electrical shorts or problems, the mechanic there said they tried tracing all the wires to see if they could find a loose connection or a wire that had shorted out or something. They weren't able to find any so they recommended that i change the whole dash cluster which i approved this $425 repair not to mention the $379 they charged me to check all the wires. That was about 4 months ago and i finally thought the issue was fixed, until last night when all the lights came back on AGAIN! I am so aggravated with this vehicle and i wish to God I could just trade it on for another vehicle something other than a Jeep, Chrysler or Dodge but i still owe almost $4,000 to my bank on this damn P.O.S and my credit score isn't as good as it was when i firsf purchased this vehicle because of having to borrow so much $ on my credit cards in order to attempt to "fix" this issue. As well as multiple late payments to the bank because i wasn't prepared to pay all this money to try to fix it so there has been times that i had to pay mu truck payment late go be able to pay the dealership to work on it, so now if i even tried to trade this in for another vehicle l will never get approved for auto loan with the at the same low interest rate like I received on this jeep. Plus ill be going into high interest auto loan upside down with the $4,000 i still owe on this literal P.O.S which tbh as a single mother of 6 kids i can't afford to do...All i want is to be able to fix it long enough for me to pay it off so i can work on paying off some of my credit card debt so i can improve my credit good enough to be able to get another lower interest auto loan ( I know I will never be able to get a auto loan at the 2.9% interest rate i received when i bought this vehicle but I know I don't want to attempt to buy a new car with my credit at the low side of 600's) sorry to rant so much but ive been dealing with this same issue for over the last 4 years off and on and tbh I think Jeep should investigate this issue cuz I've seen alot of others on the Jeep Patriot forums with the same exact issue and Noone that I've seen as fully fixed their issue, they might think what ever repair they did on their vehicle fixed it but then a few days, weeks, or even months later the issue comes back. I've already made multiple attempts at requesting that Jeep figures out what is causing this issue on so many Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge vehicles and doing a Manufacturer recall. I'm wondering how we all could band together and force them to recognize that it is something they did wrong when making these crappy vehicles that is causing all these issues for all of us...
Oh and i also failed to mention i also had the dealership replace the other fuse box on the drivers side by the headlight back years ago when the issue first started

Thank you so much. Im going out to my Chevy Astro and check fuses and for anything loose right now. I can't keep a charge and this prdnl light stays on after I shut off my van. Eventually the light goes off but not all the time. And it's dim and light a cloudy white color.
I would say more than likely you’re going to find that the instrument cluster needs to be rebuilt. Just a guess but a possibility with these vehicles because they are defective quite often
I'm trying all this.. all my dash lights are on.. everything works .. it's been 2 years . Have a new battery. At first it was intermittent.. can't find anything loose..

I have 2009 Toyota RAV4, yesterday it started pouring rain while I was in Walmart. I did leave my dog in car , when I came out to leave All lights were on, on dashboard.. I don't know if dog stepped on buttons since he's a big guy and loves to sit in drivers seat when I get out.. I will ck all wire connections like you said. TY my friend have a Blessed Day. For Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country 5th Generation: I got rid of the code. No fooling with TIPM or wires. Not sure how i did it, but i let the car sit for at least 4 or 5 hours without messing with it. Then i sat in the drivers seat and turned it on. The radio started to light up and finally came back on...then went off...i turned the car off and put the key in accessory mode. Playing with the reset button on the steering wheel...i also pressed on the gas pedal....then i kept going back and forth with key in ignition without turning the car on. All the lights that were on the dash started clearing away. Then i turned the car on again..and all came back on....i repeated what i did before....then my windows were able to go up and down by me pressing on button...and my passenger back doors started to open by me pressing on it's buttons. We had a heavy rain here in Texas. And i went through some puddles. I believe that set off the sensors. When everything went back to normal...the DASH said DONE. Which meant no more error faults. Hope this helps someone. Btw a few days ago i did get a new alternator put in, i needed one and i needed a new battery as well. There was no way i was going to get a new TIPM or have wire work done. 5th generation DGC and CHRYSLER T&C are possessed.
Having the same issue on my 2007 Mazda cx-9. All warning lights are on. Turn signals not working, key fob not recognized. Hope it's something simple like this.
Right now I’m dealing with my Jeep Compass and electrical issues. All the dash indicators popped on, engine stalled, and the mechanic at the shop so far today says his computer won’t chat with the car.
It’s either a broken wire down by the drivers seat underneath the plastic or it’s a broken wire down underneath the hood on the driver side where there is a little relay box with fuses in it that’s my best guess off the top of my head
@@sharpcarco yeh the last time it went in, they found corrosion in a lot of the plugs that go in the junction box behind the radiator fan (which was also replaced because one of it motors was burnt out) apparently the junction or control box (I could be saying it wrong) are hard to get replacement for. So my mechanic replaced the bad wire plugs, cleaned up all the corrosion and siliconed sprayed the remaining good wires. I’m sure there’s a short somewhere, it’s just pinpointing the issue. Whenever there’s an electrical issue I cringe because I know the bill won’t be pretty :( Nothing like cutting corners and poor design on these newer vehicles. Don’t even get me started on where the relays are located on my car, someone was definitely high when they said hey- let’s put electrical close to the ground-it won’t ever get damaged or wet.
Ended up being a broken wire in the firewall (which I told him it was acting like there was a short somewheres) ended up with a transmission module that I didn’t need ( he didn’t charge me) but my car was in the shop for a month......
I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Rt. When I turn my high beams on all my dash lights come on and the headlights and radio starts turning on and off. But when I put it back to the low beams it goes away. I was wondering if u had any idea on what it is
That’s crazy I really don’t Experience with that but that would lead me to believe that there’s possibly a bad switch or some kind a bad circuit I don’t want to give you too much advice because I don’t want to see you throw a bunch of parts at it and not fix the problem
I have a 2016 escalade that the display cluster and the milde display is not working they cut off at the same time so I already buy the display console so my question is are they coneted together one's I put the display my cluster should work
I have no accessory mode on my 06 5.7 limited.no acc mode with key I mean to say. I have checked all wires head to toe. Nuts to butts! one suspected wire, under the center counsel leaving the XK box. looks to be design Audio and power for the yaw sensor. Not sure what the box is but has a giant XK on it. im gone patch it up tomorrow. checked all my voltage. I’m Gucci. Everything except my horn was getting Voltage while running. My harness on the crossmemeber was sealed up. Alternator lead had 13-14 volts. Didn’t check stater but she fires up everytime. My head lights stay on when driving. Day or night no light control. I am unable to use my brights, no radio, no lcd tv, no turn signals, hazards come and then won’t go off, no heated seats, cluster lights up but gas Speedo and rpm, don't work. have some dummy lights on. Can’t pull a codes but no check engine light. my darn obd port is corroded. Starter and alternator are legit. Battery cranks @14 when running. 12-13 when off. I just now found out the interior fuse panel had relays on the back. not sure how to tell if a relay is bad. I’ll research that next I did buy a pcm and had some spare relays of both type. I hope I just popped a circuit break located on back of the panel or front. So full disclosure Cause if you ain’t honest, honestly no body can help you! I was parked waiting for my wife. My stock sub wasnt working after I removed the front center consol earlier in the day and was was being impatient. I then, like a dummy, pulled the fuse 30 the 15 while it was running 🤦♂️ this is when my nightmare began! Help a brother out! This is my wife’s daily.
What if it's the belt? Lights on the dash is on during boosting then after an hour of trying to boost it started to smoke and make a sqeeking noise from the belt area and now it wont make any noise but lights are all on the dash
I turn my van on, starts and runs fine for 10 seconds. Then every light comes on, and the wipers keep going. Speedo and tach doesn't work, the lights won't turn on, but aren't flashing.
@The Clay Way it doesn't die! I thought that too, but it has started up, and ran flawlessly four times now... well as flawlessly as it can be with the dash lights on
OK well that’s cool So what you want to do is you wanna start it up and go underneath the hood? You’re gonna wiggle large wiring harnesses until it starts acting funny maybe you could have somebody sit behind the steering wheel and watch the dash lights see if they change my suspicion is you probably just have a loose wire somewhere more than likely it’s gonna be underneath the hood if there was any recent work done I would look in the area where they were working Should be relatively simple to find since it’s actually causing a problem . Ultimately it’s going to boil down to you, wiggling the correct wiring harness, and then narrowing it down to whatever it is… if you thought that then you’ve got a little bit of a brain. Just need a little bit of a direction and I’ll bet you I’m steering you in the right direction . Also, depending on what kind of vehicle it is sometimes windshields leak and you can have wires that gotten moisture in them on the inside of the cab but ultimately it’s pretty close to rearing its ugly head so eventually it’s going to completely fail, would be my guess. Wish I could be more definitive, but hopefully that gives you a couple things to think about and directions to go in

the problem comes and goes, almost last time i tapped under the steering wheel few times, different locations, and it went away, now last time i also did tap nothing happened stayed the same, i wiggled wires below the steering and the fuse box pluges nothing, so i did what i do everyime, i switched off the car, waited few minutes, back on, no problem.. obd2 shows no problem my mechanic tells me it may be can bus harness and he need to open and check all wire and it take a day or 2 which i dont have.. how proceed from here?
please help my honda accord 2006 has problem; while driving at night my dashboard with the rpm and speedometer, headlights, radio turning on and off repeatedly every 2 to 3 seconds eratically. could it be bad ELD? Hey I getting a 2008 Toyota Crown 3.5 V6 for a steal of a price. Guy said they tried to remove the steering wheel for alignment (like old school way) and when they put the wheel back on Master warning, traction control, ABS and AFS light is on but no check engine, low oil or battery light is on. The scanner Autul reported no faults. Think it’s a good buy and cheapesh fix???

Serious question: How can I safely touch wires and connections under the hood without getting myself zapped. I dont know much about cars and engines and just dont know if there will be high voltage going through the connections ends. Thank you!
Without getting too technical you don’t have anything really to worry about, you don’t want the wires to touch each other or the body the ground wire can touch anything that’s the black one . the red wire should never touch anything. But if you’re not holding onto the ground wire and Touch the red wire it won’t hurt you. (even though there’s absolutely no reason for you to be touching both wires at the same time) it’s just good safe practice not to touch them both at the same time. The problem is it’s when the two wires make direct contact with one another or the red wire touches the body which is the ground of the system. In 25 years of working on automobiles I’ve never been electrocuted by an automobile!!!! Except when I grab the spark plug wire when it’s not attached to the spark plug in the engine is running that’s the only time I’ve ever been shocked LOL Basically meaning you’re safe unless you’re working on some kind of hybrid with a super big battery inside it.
I have been working on 07 Ford Edge and the instrument cluster stays light with the high beam indicator even when vehicle is off. I’ve read a lot of things where people have the same issue and dealerships charge them for new ecm or new instrument cluster and the problem always comes back. So when I pulled the gauge cluster out as soon as I touched the plug to it the lights shut off. The plug is just a smaller version of the ecm plugs but I just can’t get it to attach right , where it’s not shorting out unless I push down on the plug.
I just had this happen on a Jeep 2008 it just had the whole fuse box replaced I was driving every light come on ran fine I got home shut it off know it won’t start
What about a 2012 Buick Regal, all the check lights are on, there’s a new engine in it, I tried to take it to get the sensors reset at the Buick car lot. They said they can reset it because it isn’t the original engine.
That’s BS the “new” engine has nothing to do with being able to reset lights,……. A engine is mechanical. Lights are on because things are happening inside the engine from the electrical sensors. The question would be when did the lights come on? If the answer is they were on when you got it back then there is definitely something not plugged in or hooked up correctly
@@sharpcarco my engine light, ABS light, & the one with the car and the squiggly lines are on. They’re all red & orange. I also have 2 messages “service stabilitrak” & “service brake assist”
@@sharpcarco they were on immediately after the new engine was put in, there’s new oil New everything inside the car. And when I start it there’s a quiet quit subtle squeak.

I have a 2008 scion xb and the cluster lights are on brake, abs the speedometer dont work nothing work on the dashboard a mechanic told me could be the computer so i bought a new one didnt work so later told me the cluster or the transmission sensor so i changed both but didnt work but after i did i plugged my scanner light went off but when i took off light came back. The car light go off as soon i connect scanner please let me know What is it wrong

?? I have an 02 Chevy Z71 that I have not driven steady in about 3 years. I just replaced the battery and all the lights on dash stay on. If I bang on dash most lights will go off and every now and then they will all go off. It's been sitting out in the street and has been severely sunburned and I'm wondering would the sun have cause all these lights to be staying on? Thanks!
More than likely just guessing depending on what climate you’re in the sun would’ve melted the wires underneath the dash together and this is the reason that you can hit the dash and things stop working or start working somewhat so my best guess would be yes the sun may have damaged it it could’ve been mice etc. etc.
No mice so I'm guessing that the sun did it. So what would I need to do? Re wire it? I'm just wondering because it's a good truck and want to start driving it as soon as possible well as soon as I get that issue straight/inspected ect.
Well I think you need to take it apart and take a look at it more than likely whatever the problem is should be visible I would think. Give it a little bit of an inspection that would be my best guess at this time
I was driving down the road in my idiot boyfriend's Chevy S10 and the fuel gauge quit, the abs light, security light check gauges light, low fuel light, battery light came on.

Plus ill be going into high interest auto loan upside down with the $4,000 i still owe on this literal P.O.S which tbh as a single mother of 6 kids i can't afford to do...All i want is to be able to fix it long enough for me to pay it off so i can work on paying off some of my credit card debt so i can improve my credit good enough to be able to get another lower interest auto loan ( I know I will never be able to get a auto loan at the 2.9% interest rate i received when i bought this vehicle but I know I don't want to attempt to buy a new car with my credit at the low side of 600's) sorry to rant so much but ive been dealing with this same issue for over the last 4 years off and on and tbh I think Jeep should investigate this issue cuz I've seen alot of others on the Jeep Patriot forums with the same exact issue and Noone that I've seen as fully fixed their issue, they might think what ever repair they did on their vehicle fixed it but then a few days, weeks, or even months later the issue comes back. I've already made multiple attempts at requesting that Jeep figures out what is causing this issue on so many Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge vehicles and doing a Manufacturer recall. I'm wondering how we all could band together and force them to recognize that it is something they did wrong when making these crappy vehicles that is causing all these issues for all of us...
Oh and i also failed to mention i also had the dealership replace the other fuse box on the drivers side by the headlight back years ago when the issue first started

Thank you so much. Im going out to my Chevy Astro and check fuses and for anything loose right now. I can't keep a charge and this prdnl light stays on after I shut off my van. Eventually the light goes off but not all the time. And it's dim and light a cloudy white color.
I would say more than likely you’re going to find that the instrument cluster needs to be rebuilt. Just a guess but a possibility with these vehicles because they are defective quite often

I have 2009 Toyota RAV4, yesterday it started pouring rain while I was in Walmart. I did leave my dog in car , when I came out to leave All lights were on, on dashboard.. I don't know if dog stepped on buttons since he's a big guy and loves to sit in drivers seat when I get out.. I will ck all wire connections like you said. TY my friend have a Blessed Day. Have you ever heard of a vehicles (Jeep) Dash lights and Head and Tail Lights flickering like a short when the key has been remove from the ignition?
For Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country 5th Generation: I got rid of the code. No fooling with TIPM or wires. Not sure how i did it, but i let the car sit for at least 4 or 5 hours without messing with it. Then i sat in the drivers seat and turned it on. The radio started to light up and finally came back on...then went off...i turned the car off and put the key in accessory mode. Playing with the reset button on the steering wheel...i also pressed on the gas pedal....then i kept going back and forth with key in ignition without turning the car on. All the lights that were on the dash started clearing away. Then i turned the car on again..and all came back on....i repeated what i did before....then my windows were able to go up and down by me pressing on button...and my passenger back doors started to open by me pressing on it's buttons. We had a heavy rain here in Texas. And i went through some puddles. I believe that set off the sensors. When everything went back to normal...the DASH said DONE. Which meant no more error faults. Hope this helps someone. Btw a few days ago i did get a new alternator put in, i needed one and i needed a new battery as well. There was no way i was going to get a new TIPM or have wire work done. 5th generation DGC and CHRYSLER T&C are possessed.

Having the same issue on my 2007 Mazda cx-9. All warning lights are on. Turn signals not working, key fob not recognized. Hope it's something simple like this.
Right now I’m dealing with my Jeep Compass and electrical issues. All the dash indicators popped on, engine stalled, and the mechanic at the shop so far today says his computer won’t chat with the car.
It’s either a broken wire down by the drivers seat underneath the plastic or it’s a broken wire down underneath the hood on the driver side where there is a little relay box with fuses in it that’s my best guess off the top of my head
@@sharpcarco yeh the last time it went in, they found corrosion in a lot of the plugs that go in the junction box behind the radiator fan (which was also replaced because one of it motors was burnt out) apparently the junction or control box (I could be saying it wrong) are hard to get replacement for. So my mechanic replaced the bad wire plugs, cleaned up all the corrosion and siliconed sprayed the remaining good wires. I’m sure there’s a short somewhere, it’s just pinpointing the issue. Whenever there’s an electrical issue I cringe because I know the bill won’t be pretty :( Nothing like cutting corners and poor design on these newer vehicles. Don’t even get me started on where the relays are located on my car, someone was definitely high when they said hey- let’s put electrical close to the ground-it won’t ever get damaged or wet.
Ended up being a broken wire in the firewall (which I told him it was acting like there was a short somewheres) ended up with a transmission module that I didn’t need ( he didn’t charge me) but my car was in the shop for a month......

That’s crazy I really don’t Experience with that but that would lead me to believe that there’s possibly a bad switch or some kind a bad circuit I don’t want to give you too much advice because I don’t want to see you throw a bunch of parts at it and not fix the problem

one suspected wire, under the center counsel leaving the XK box. looks to be design Audio and power for the yaw sensor.
Not sure what the box is but has a giant XK on it. im gone patch it up tomorrow. checked all my voltage. I’m Gucci.
Everything except my horn was getting Voltage while running.
My harness on the crossmemeber was sealed up. Alternator lead had 13-14 volts. Didn’t check stater but she fires up everytime.
My head lights stay on when driving.
Day or night no light control.
I am unable to use my brights, no radio, no lcd tv, no turn signals, hazards come and then won’t go off, no heated seats, cluster lights up but gas Speedo and rpm, don't work.
have some dummy lights on.
Can’t pull a codes but no check engine light. my darn obd port is corroded.
Starter and alternator are legit. Battery cranks @14 when running. 12-13 when off.
I just now found out the interior fuse panel had relays on the back. not sure how to tell if a relay is bad. I’ll research that next I did buy a pcm and had some spare relays of both type. I hope I just popped a circuit break located on back of the panel or front.

What if it's the belt? Lights on the dash is on during boosting then after an hour of trying to boost it started to smoke and make a sqeeking noise from the belt area and now it wont make any noise but lights are all on the dash
Well it’s possible that you have a seized pulley take the belt off and see what happens

I turn my van on, starts and runs fine for 10 seconds. Then every light comes on, and the wipers keep going. Speedo and tach doesn't work, the lights won't turn on, but aren't flashing.
Sounds like your alternator might not be charging.. your voltage is going low and it’s killing the engine. Does it start right back up?

So what you want to do is you wanna start it up and go underneath the hood? You’re gonna wiggle large wiring harnesses until it starts acting funny maybe you could have somebody sit behind the steering wheel and watch the dash lights see if they change my suspicion is you probably just have a loose wire somewhere more than likely it’s gonna be underneath the hood if there was any recent work done I would look in the area where they were working
Should be relatively simple to find since it’s actually causing a problem . Ultimately it’s going to boil down to you, wiggling the correct wiring harness, and then narrowing it down to whatever it is… if you thought that then you’ve got a little bit of a brain. Just need a little bit of a direction and I’ll bet you I’m steering you in the right direction . Also, depending on what kind of vehicle it is sometimes windshields leak and you can have wires that gotten moisture in them on the inside of the cab but ultimately it’s pretty close to rearing its ugly head so eventually it’s going to completely fail, would be my guess. Wish I could be more definitive, but hopefully that gives you a couple things to think about and directions to go in

I’m really sorry John I certainly wish I could help you brother but I have not experienced that problem so I don’t have a direction to give you other than the typical directions like checking the fuses and connections etc. etc. sorry
the problem comes and goes, almost last time i tapped under the steering wheel few times, different locations, and it went away, now last time i also did tap nothing happened stayed the same, i wiggled wires below the steering and the fuse box pluges nothing, so i did what i do everyime, i switched off the car, waited few minutes, back on, no problem..
obd2 shows no problem
my mechanic tells me it may be can bus harness and he need to open and check all wire and it take a day or 2 which i dont have..
how proceed from here?

Hey I getting a 2008 Toyota Crown 3.5 V6 for a steal of a price. Guy said they tried to remove the steering wheel for alignment (like old school way) and when they put the wheel back on Master warning, traction control, ABS and AFS light is on but no check engine, low oil or battery light is on. The scanner Autul reported no faults. Think it’s a good buy and cheapesh fix???
More than likely I don’t know what’s wrong with it but that wouldn’t stop me from buying a vehicle like that I’m assuming you meant Corolla or possibly Camry both fairly excellent automobiles

Without getting too technical you don’t have anything really to worry about, you don’t want the wires to touch each other or the body the ground wire can touch anything that’s the black one .
the red wire should never touch anything. But if you’re not holding onto the ground wire and Touch the red wire it won’t hurt you. (even though there’s absolutely no reason for you to be touching both wires at the same time) it’s just good safe practice not to touch them both at the same time.
The problem is it’s when the two wires make direct contact with one another or the red wire touches the body which is the ground of the system.
In 25 years of working on automobiles I’ve never been electrocuted by an automobile!!!!
Except when I grab the spark plug wire when it’s not attached to the spark plug in the engine is running that’s the only time I’ve ever been shocked LOL
Basically meaning you’re safe unless you’re working on some kind of hybrid with a super big battery inside it.

2020 toyota corolla showing up all dash lights and engine power low.
I have been working on 07 Ford Edge and the instrument cluster stays light with the high beam indicator even when vehicle is off. I’ve read a lot of things where people have the same issue and dealerships charge them for new ecm or new instrument cluster and the problem always comes back. So when I pulled the gauge cluster out as soon as I touched the plug to it the lights shut off. The plug is just a smaller version of the ecm plugs but I just can’t get it to attach right , where it’s not shorting out unless I push down on the plug.

What about a 2012 Buick Regal, all the check lights are on, there’s a new engine in it, I tried to take it to get the sensors reset at the Buick car lot. They said they can reset it because it isn’t the original engine.

That’s BS the “new” engine has nothing to do with being able to reset lights,……. A engine is mechanical. Lights are on because things are happening inside the engine from the electrical sensors.
The question would be when did the lights come on? If the answer is they were on when you got it back then there is definitely something not plugged in or hooked up correctly

?? I have an 02 Chevy Z71 that I have not driven steady in about 3 years. I just replaced the battery and all the lights on dash stay on. If I bang on dash most lights will go off and every now and then they will all go off. It's been sitting out in the street and has been severely sunburned and I'm wondering would the sun have cause all these lights to be staying on? Thanks!
More than likely just guessing depending on what climate you’re in the sun would’ve melted the wires underneath the dash together and this is the reason that you can hit the dash and things stop working or start working somewhat so my best guess would be yes the sun may have damaged it it could’ve been mice etc. etc.
No mice so I'm guessing that the sun did it. So what would I need to do? Re wire it? I'm just wondering because it's a good truck and want to start driving it as soon as possible well as soon as I get that issue straight/inspected ect.
Well I think you need to take it apart and take a look at it more than likely whatever the problem is should be visible I would think. Give it a little bit of an inspection that would be my best guess at this time
I was driving down the road in my idiot boyfriend's Chevy S10 and the fuel gauge quit, the abs light, security light check gauges light, low fuel light, battery light came on.
