@@RuizDavid312 From my research this is a fix for the problem if your car has an engine swap. Apparently if you have an aftermarket wiring harness/engine it messes up the engine cont. fuse circuit and that's why the lights stay on. Is your car swapped?
Do you have your OEM charge light (white/red wire in engine bay)hooked to the alternator? If you leave this unhooked it’ll cause this issue. Some sort of ground loop I assume
Thanks for the info Dawson! I believe that wire is hooked up to the alternator but that is a quick and easy thing to check for those experiencing this issue!
Having same issue. Engine and ignition on with key out. I used a test light to check for power at brown relay and getting 12v at terminal side with key out at switch pin causing relay to stay closed. Voltage is back feeding into that w/r wire on terminal side... Should I now trace that wire? Any help appreciated
Hey pumpfake sorry you are having the same issue. Have you looked at the video description? I have posted all known solutions to this issue there along with the main solution that works for most people. Hope this helps!
I’m almost at the point where I’m just going to wire a diode into that w/r wire at brown relay so voltage can only flow in one direction but I don’t want to rig it, I want to fix it. So happy I found this video.
@@TunerFaction wow thx for the quick reply! Yes I’ve tried all your methods. I’ve verified voltage is back feeding into my ignition relay. My problem lies elsewhere.
Hey that isn't a bad Band-Aid fix using a diode, I didn't think of that! I'm hoping that if you pull the "eng cont" relay which I give instructions on in the description, that should fix your issue!@@pumpfake
Hey man thanks for the comment! I'm sorry I'm not very familiar with the Q7, it's possible it could be a sticking power relay but from my understanding I don't think it would be the starter relay. Sorry I can't be much help!
I pulled everything you did and problem still persist, I unplugged ignition pig tail no change, (lights stayed on) pulled the ignition switch relay they go away swapped with another relay, problem is back, pulled Accessories relay and swap with another same (lights remain) pull engine cont 10amp in engine bay light go away but remain when fuse back in, pulled bulb relay same (light go away and come back when re installed… I’m stumped
Hey David, not to worry this problem gave me a headache too! So I see that when you say you pulled the engine cont. 10 amp fuse the problem went away, and then when you reinstalled the fuse the problem came back (lights stay on). Basically what I did was I pulled the engine cont. fuse and never reinstalled it, I just left it out of the fuse box for good. Is there a reason you want to keep that fuse installed? If not, it would be ok to just leave the fuse uninstalled. Let me know, thanks!
@@RuizDavid312 Yes I have a WiringSpecialties harness as well. I had reached out to them to ask about this problem but got no concrete answer unfortunately. My best guess is that by removing the OEM harness the electronics get confused because it thinks something is there that is now removed. Again, I can't give you a 100% solid answer on why pulling that fuse "fixes" the issue or why it is a problem after swapping harnesses, however I have been running my car without that fuse for a few months now and haven't had any ill effects. Hope this helps David!
@@TunerFaction thank you, maybe it’s just the nature of the beast (cross bread swaps lol) I’ll do the same and carry on, I appreciate it tremendously and shot you a subscription.
legend, puled #4 fuse worked like a charm.
LEGENDARY! Glad to hear it worked brother!
let’s gooo I pulled the engine cont fuse and no more dash lights 🙏🏼
God bless you and that amazing JZ 240
YOOOOOO so happy to hear your problem got fixed! Really pumped for you man and thanks for the comment!
Is this the fix to the problem or a bandaid?

this is great information! Thank you for posting this!(and the update) You've definitely helped me with an issue I've had for a long time!!!
Super happy to hear this helped you out brother! Glad you got that problem solved, I know how annoying it was for me!
Thank you!!! My fiance was starting to avoid riding in my car because my battery would die lol
