I've never used ribbonfish, but I would imagine they would work well. Might be a little tricky to rig, but I say give it a shot! Capt Mike

Swims beautifully and is extremely durable due to tough skin on snakehead. - Capt Mike

Very cool. So do you add and lights or glow sticks to that rig or basically the fish smell the Bonita strip?

Blake Hunter We add three flashing lights spread intermitantly 15, 30, 45 feet from bait. Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike

When daytime sword fishing, we typically fish 1600-2000 ft and baits are presented 50 to 200 ft off the bottom.

When daytime sword fishing we use a large sash weight, usually 10 pounds, sometimes as heavy as 12. - Capt Mike

what is the difference between that and a mackerel or some other baitfish? is it purely about durability?

I'm no genius but boy am I confused. Why is the goal to save as much tail meat as possible then next step is cut off all the tail meat?

just seams a long time and a waste of a whole tuna, when it could have been used for swords as a drift bait..
