    Would love to see a third version which is the microwaveable version made is a more optimal way i.e. air fried, pan fried, etc. & seeing how that competes with the homemade/restaurant versions

      Hmm, that's an option but that would definitely be a different kind of show. Most of the point of microwavable foods is convenience, and having to do extra effort and tricks makes it a lot less accessible

    • @noemi_la9329
      @noemi_la9329 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      EXACTLY, it literally says to air fry & she microwaves it 🫠 that’s like putting JUST cold/room temperature water in noodles & being like hhhmmmm the noddles are still hard & not cooked properly 😂

    Maybe the show could be adjusted to become "Homemade vs. PreMade". Pick a frozen meal, then teach us how to use a homemade recipe to make said meal. THEN maybe show us how the premade meal could be altered to taste better/closer to home made. Ask "Is it worth the time and effort to make from scratch OR just doctor up the frozen version?" No restaurant takeout. Also, cook the pre-made in the recommended way. It would be great to see cost and time savings between the two as well. So much potential! Especially with such engaging hosts! Looking forward to seeing this channel and it's shows grow and develop!

    I do understand the samgyetang and the hot dogs are really time intensive, but most people don't have Korean restaurants around them that sell those items. If you had to spend the proper time and money buying all the ingredients you need to make those meals, I think the microwave options might have been more appealing.

    I think the comparisons were a bit off. I mean, of course a microwaved fried food is not going to be as good as a more freshly fried item. Like other people suggested, an airfryer vs. restaurant comparison would be interesting. And I would have been interested in a kimchi fried comparison that did not have the extras like the spam and green onions. How would the microwave version have fared with fried spam and green onion added? Still, this was interesting.

    I feel like watcher has exposed me to so much more Asian culture (words, foods, traditions, etc). I’ve loved hearing and seeing them talk about what foods they love and what is a comfort food. I have to eat while watching these videos because the food always makes me hungry! I’ve been exploring more local Korean restaurants while watching these videos and I just really appreciate these video! :)

    I loved this a bunch! I also looooooove grabbing microwave tteokbokki whenever we run to teso.

  • @marie9567
    @marie9567 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Love Brittney and she's very fun to watch but the planning for this show seems to be an afterthought. I would have loved to actually see all the homemade food - yes I know its time intensive but that's Korean food in general. And the show is based in LA where I know the ingredients are available. It just doesn't feel fair to compare restaurant quality food to microwaved food and a bit of a cop out compared to other Watcher shows.

      @@puglyfe1 Following the advent of the novel coronavirus, hate crimes and racism towards all Asians outside of Asia spiked around the world. That hashtag is what was/is used to try to say that that's unacceptable. (Maybe you knew that part already)
      I think that the poster is trying to say that by getting to know a little bit about a couple of Asian cultures, she's not succumbing to the fearmongering? I'd say it's silly, but Asian restaurants/food industry were among the most heavily targeted over the last years... as if you could catch covid by eating Chinese takeout. That same brand of pre-made tteokbokki has a larger packet that you cook on the stove and it’s soooooo good. The rice cakes are bigger than the microwave version and you can add all the toppings you want. I’m personally a fan of an egg or two, green onions, dumplings, and maybe fish cakes if I’m feeling it. The sauce also gets thicker on the stove than it does in the microwave! Would recommend to those looking for an easy alternative.
