@@ry5551 I mean if someone's only reason for siding with a political party is believing that certain minority groups don't deserve rights then their opinion deserves to be disrespected. However some people may believe those groups should have rights but just have a different opinion on how the government should operate. When the arguments have nothing to do with basic human rights and someone's opinion is disregarded simply because it is associated with people who are against those groups is when I think the line has been crossed. I feel like it's come to a point where someone could say they generally lean right and many people would automatically assume that they're racist or homophobic, when the two things have more of an unfortunate correlation than causation. Same goes for assumptions on people who lean left. Extremes and generalizations on both sides are an issue.

@@CaitMcKi Sleep feels good because you're still alive to feel it. The act of slipping into sleep, the act of waking up refreshed, rely on continuity of self to experience it. The body isn't 'micro-dead', it's still very active and attending to self care. The process of dying itself isn't the scary part, it might be peaceful or exhilarating to experience. It's afterwards that is horrifying. The not feeling. The not being. Forever. A concept so uncomfortable the mind runs away from it, or wraps it up in all sorts of more palatable alternatives. (I think the real reason all cultures have ghost stories, and also concepts of religion and afterlives - because death is ubiquitous and inevitable and it's just not a good survival strategy to drown in anxiety about it - those who can cope with faith or fable can live happier and possibly longer lives)
So I don't classify myself as either a skeptic nor a believer, but Ryan's powerpoint somehow made me believe in ghost less

shane’s powerpoint is literally me telling any story: starts at point A, wanders of to completely unrelated points that are related in my head, forgets the point and then somehow concludes the story
I’m in college rn and Ryan’s college presentation hit a little too close to home that shit was WAY too accurate omg and he really nailed the part where u look at something u wrote and have no clue what u were thinking when u wrote it so u just kinda stare at it for 10 seconds 💀💀

1. The light leaving Ryan's eyes when Shane won realizing that even when the puppet is gone he still loses
2. Shane's pie metaphor because of course it has to be pie
3. the holding hands where Shane is so excited and Ryan wants to die

Really confused by the takes on Ryans powerpoint in the comment section. It was obvious that Ryans powerpoint was supposed to be humorous. As a current uni student I though Ryans acting as an exhausted, burnt out, possibly hungover uni student who didn't care about their presentation was really funny and relatable. Shanes powerpoint also had a lot of humorous elements to it. I thought it was overall a great and entertaining video, and I don't get how people are upset it wasn't serious. It was supposed to be humorous and it was. I think people need to take the video for what it was and not what they wanted it to be.
I get the sense they went with the humor route because I suspect Ryan and Shane have had serious arguments over the topic and didn't want to bring any negativity to it.
Besides, Shane and Ryan know they can't change the others mind.
So they went for the funny route.
I think people are just so used to the double act they've been doing since Unsolved that it's missed that they're doing a bit

He could've presented possible sightings etc and used those to try to convince her, but tbh I don't think that would've been very interesting. It being more of a bit show was more enjoyable imo

Being able to watch this legitimately reminds me of being in college classes with a bunch of tired students who half-assed their PPTs. Shane is the professor who sits and watches with the other students and grades your PPT as you present it. Ryan is the student who didn't even try. The rest of us are the other students watching the train wreck go down.

i have done very little this week other than go through the emails and documents of a corporate client of the law firm where I work, and many of those documents included power points by very well compensated corporate professionals who regularly give presentations as part of their job

This is such a transformation from the Ryan Bergara that we were introduced to when he first started Buzzfeed, who had the vibes of a half-crazed college student who kept a color-coded binder of conspiracy theories in his backpack at all times. Now he has the vibes of someone who dumps barely intelligible thoughts about conspiracy theories into a personal discord server that has only one channel.

@@bdaarmy9736 He could've brought up various cultures and their folklore; usually ties into ghosts, cryptids, and other strange phenomena alike. Yeah, spiritual beliefs are wonky and shouldn't be automatically trusted, but having various cultures around the world having their own strange occurrences, experiences, and stories makes it seem like it's plausible that ghost, or whatever it is, may exist. Including, that Ryan could've included studies/statistics of ghost sightings and people who are 100% believers/non-believers and those in-between being agnostic-like.
However, that was my hopeful expectation of what Ryan could've presented but sadly didn't.

Jokes aside and I love the jokes of their presentation, Ryan actually had a pretty good arguments points like "ghost had exist in all culture", I had to stop the video and argued with myself about this XD I know its part of the bit where he's the tired college student" vibe but he truly had SOME good points that would bring out very interesting CONVERSATIONS if we're elaborated more
Yeah, because humans were and still are generally afraid of death, so they made up undead souls, and also, because they didn't have science back when the cultures formed
They aren't really points, every culture has ghosts and every culture produced no evidence. If everyone votes for a politician it doesn't mean he's the right option.

Comparing Ryan's absolutely petrified state during BU Ep1: Sallie House, and his behavior on the very last BU episode (also at the Sallie House) where he actually laid down on the basement pentagram and somewhat mocked the "demons" that he was so terrified of at the start of the series makes me wonder if Ryan also no longer believes in spooks after his 100-some-odd investigations during the course of the BU series. His half-ass ppt really supports that theory IMO lmaooo. Can't wait for Ghost Files!!!!

This reminds me of an interview I once saw with Kiera Knightley where the host asked her if she believed in ghosts, and she goes, "No!.....But I've seen one." Lol. Kind of the same thing where she saw a guy who vanished before her eyes, and she doesn't believe in ghosts but she doesn't know what it was that happened if it wasn't a ghost.

Long time fan, seemingly unpopular opinion: Ryan’s part in the video made it kind of hard to watch-bit or not. I think his excitement about the paranormal vs Shane’s indifference is what always makes it so funny. Ryan not giving a crap about this plus Shane not believing made this whole thing seem… pointless? Maybe had the “bit” gone to Shane that would have made some sense seeing as how he actually doesn’t care about ghosts.
