Another great video Bryan and thanks again for taking us along for the ride. A few things I learned from this video; I don't move as quickly as I used to, I don't look that good in a T-shirt and I could lose some weight. So all up from Rickey's Reef we ended up with about 12 grams of gold. (I have an idea for out next adventure. I will message you.)

This is certainly the right activity for keeping fit though isn't it! 12 grams is fantastic for such a little reef, probably a bit more with some of the smaller samples we did originally. How much gold is in your personal stash now by the way? I'm looking forward to refining it.

That was a fun video. The mine bugs were crazy! If you were to expose more of the reef I’m guessing you’d have to blast, right? Or is there no reason to think that there is anything else in the host rock at all?
Thank you J PH! The mine bugs make up about 30% of my diet 🤣. There is undoubtedly more reef there that would grade well, but the work required to remove the roof around it to be able to get anymore reef would outweigh the reward unfortunately. Originally this reef graded at over 400g/tonne! So it's fizzled out a lot since we started. Hopefully Rick finds us another good reef soon. 🤞🤞🤞
How good was that mate! Shame that pay wasn't a foot wide rather than an inch. My tip for you, don't bake biscuits for mates with the plain flour on the work bench...
Don't look too hard at all the mess. There will be things laying around that will get me in trouble 🤣. The flour however, is just used as a carbon replacement when smelting. Happy with the end result though, great to have such little ore create a pretty little button like that

After looking at that nice little specimen that you pulled out your pocket, you should try running a GM1000 or equivalent over the walls. Might be able to high grade that mine a little more. And I realize you are already packing a 💩-ton of gear out but what’s one more? 😂
You're absolutely right Levi. I've found the GM1000 to be a bit too noisy for my hard rock stuff. Using the first of you TH-cam money I actually bought a Falcon MD20 detector. Much more sensitive to tiny gold and able to distinguish the pyrite easier. Also much smaller and easier to cart around! Unfortunately though. I recieved a faulty unit, so I've had to send it back to Wally's in the USA for repair. I did find 2 nice little species here on the lease before it started playing up on me though. Can't wait to get it back and use it in future vids!
@@TheGoldmansChannel I sold my GM1000 for that exact reason and bought a Gold Bug 2. Such a huge difference. Even in super noisy ground, the smallest hard noise indicates small nugget/birdshot is easy to pick out. The pyrite/magnetite is just a wang sound. BTW your processing setup is amazing. Can’t wait to see the shaker table installed.
The GB2 is an absolute classic hey. I have a few buddies that use them and it blows my mind how well they work for an older machine. Minelab could learn a few things from them! Thanks man, hopefully I'll get into it soon. Need to put some tarps up to be able to work on the shaker table under cover. Been relentlessly drizzling rain here lately and I haven't built my shed yet 😆
Loved the video. Does the reef tail off, or would it potential reopen up again further in? The guess the old timers would have pushed it to its limit if more was there
Thank you Jeff! I think your correct in saying they pushed it to its limits. We were very lucky to still find a few good pockets in the ceiling. There is a shaft further up the hill, perhaps 20m from this section we were working. I've tested that shaft thoroughly with no good results. So I'm assuming the best part was where we were, and that's the richest part done and dusted. I sampled in the floor where I could also, but the reef pinched away to nothing just as it did in the end face. Who knows what it looks like a few meters deeper though! Might open out to be a foot wide and just as rich. Or may just pinch away to nothing. It's sad to finish a little reef like that, but we got some really nice gold out of it over the years 😁

Thats correct Halfa, I've found that to be the easiest way to do the math. I've seen a million and one different ways to the do it though. Everyone seems to have their preferred different and overcomplicated method 😆. Not sure what those mine bugs are, I've already just called them mine bugs. They don't bite or sting, just get in your eyes, ears and mouth 🤣
