I think it was Steven Strait, Holden actor, who said that Holden at the beginning was trying to avoid responsibility for the wrong reasons. And at the end he was avoiding responsibility for the right reasons.
@BenjCano2020 I mean... I guess you could find some link there. I meant the symptom was actually listed on the diagnosis screen when Clarissa ran herself through the autodoc.
I love these extra scenes. Especially the bobby vs amos one and the holden one. bobby showed truly how much of a badass she is by how easily she handled this unbeatable badass up to this point that is Amos but shows that no matter what, amos is never afraid to get his hands dirty and cheat. The holden one i love in particular cuz basically the entire show would've been drastically different if a drunk holden didn't just say, shmeh, why not take a job with basically no responsibility. Like, earth might've been destroyed by Eros if holden hadnt only started the chain of events but also wasn't there to get Miller off eros intially when they were irradiated.
Hi, it's the "Well, Ty Franck and Wes Chatham actually did an episode" guy again! 😀 They did, and there's interesting background info there, like that these stories were never intended to fit into the episodes. I guess the different tone and pace wouldn't have matched the frenzy that was season 6, a bit like the NOSTROMO egg chamber scene from "Alien" in the finale, that was cut because it impeded the pacing of that whole sequence. Anyway, the "Ty And That Guy" episode is worth watching, it's going by the title Expanse One Ship Primer & Lewin Webb
Oh that’s such a good point. I’m moaning about them not being in the main episodes but you’re right. The main episodes were too fast paced and action-y for these.
The reason that these extra scenes weren't in the regular episodes is that Amazon had asked for bonus scenes that can only be accessed from their site. Also there wouldn't have been enough time int he episodes to fit them in. It Amazon had been given them more episodes then they could have made more scenes like these.
And Dominique Tipper actually learned "Happy Birthday" in Belter Creole. The reason that Camina kept the pieces with Naomi is because Naomi is traveling all over the galaxy, while she had her family with her.
"Ankawala" tells us that Naomi had always been Drummer's _ankawala_ (anchor person). Drummer's deleting the files did not "delete" Naomi from her heart. That was a determination at that moment to try to put Naomi behind her, after she'd essentially given up another family out of her love for Naomi, a love she knew would not be returned. When Naomi met her again...only to ask a tremendous favor for Holden (to make peace with a hated enemy)...that was just another dagger through her heart. In "Night Watch," we got the first indication that Peaches had a serious problem, visible on the Roci-view screen that followed her. Notice Peaches has been the only other person besides Alex who spoke directly to the Roci, and the Roci beeped back at her. In "Remember the Cant," the Belter who crushed the captain's new cat was the same Belter who spaced Prax's friend and those other Inners. This was after Holden had been dishonorably discharged for the sake of Belters, and had a rare ability (among Earthers) to get along with Belters. I've given a lot of thought to how these clips could have been included in the episode; I think each would have taken nearly as much time to transition smoothly to them as the clips were in length...that would have been an additional seven to ten minutes per clip, which is significant air time.
Yeh fair point. Plus the pacing would have been off. But they give us such vital information just to be put as bonus episodes. I wouldn’t have complained if there were 5 more bonus episodes about the other characters though😂😂😂
What also struck me was that I never considered that Drummer was actually in love with Naomi. I though they were just friends, but then when you find out Drummer has a communal marriage with men and women, and how strongly she fights to save Naomi in season 5, it really wasn't until that that short episode where I was like "Oh, of course she's in love with her!" That's why she's avoiding Naomi in that episode where Naomi asks her to meet with Avasarala. Drummer recognizes that Naomi is her one weakness.
Same. It didn’t click in my head till this . Which is why this bonus scene gives us a lot of character info that might have worked in the main episodes.
Shyam: "Why is she sleeping like a vampire?" Hahahaha I said the same thing the first time I saw that scene. I was just waiting for the coffin to appear. I liked these little featurettes. They were like a bonus scene for the episodes, but at the same time kind of a more intimate behind the scenes feel to them, with a lot of the characters feeling more - I don't know, vulnerable? - than they would normally be shown.Of course, it helped that I'd also never say no to more Expanse content!
Great reaction fellas, as always. These are details that are picked up in the books, much of which they couldn't cram into the show. They do give an insight into the meticulous detail the writers go into with the story. It's a shame it has to come to an end. ....for now at least... EDIT: if you haven't had enough yet, I highly recommend having a look at the breakdown of the space battles of the Expanse on a channel called Spacedock. Sounds awfully nerdy, but it brings the level of detail and attention to physics that's explained so well in the books. Well worth checking out.
I'm glad you guys caught these little vignette stories. I think that partly it is a ploy by Amazon to get more people using their platform, or to get people who already are to use it more, but also I don't think those scenes would actually fit in the season without breaking the pacing and, in some cases, the mood. They give a little more about the characters but are inconsequential to the plot. The writers did a good job at making them self-contained and yet also fitting in with the episode they accompany.
I love these. And for those of us who watched live, it was a previous few more minutes each week with a show we knew was ending. I seriously dig young Holden with the familiar faces around Ceres. And Bobby v Amos was a matchup we all wanted. My personal theory is that Naomi and Drummer hooked up in season 2 after their night of handball and dancing and Drummer fell hard but Naomi went with Holden. There's little clues throughout the series.
@@RamblersInc rewatching that episode at the end of season 6 is wild. Avasarala asking the Belter why he was trafficking stealth coatings was the big clue they put in there, but so many others.
BTW, If you'd like some more of Avasarala's voice, I recommend Arcane. An animated series, brilliantly written where the visuals are incredible. She voices one of the characters. Check out the reviews for the show. They created something special with season 1.
Peaches was definitely abused, there’s more than one type of abuse. Just because Jules Pierre Mao didn’t raise a hand to her (which btw, he still might have, we just didn’t see it), does not mean he never verbally, psychologically, or mentally abused her. Hell, we even saw him put her down at the same time as he praised Julie. So her feeling hatred for him, totally understandable, and I don’t know that Jules was even capable of loving someone completely, he seems too narcissistic 🤷🏻♀️
I think it was Steven Strait, Holden actor, who said that Holden at the beginning was trying to avoid responsibility for the wrong reasons. And at the end he was avoiding responsibility for the right reasons.
Good point.
Poetic
Holden had come a long way since his cushy job and shirking off responsibility on board the Canterbury.
19:46 the captain of the ship that rescued prax from ganymede, who spaced all those earthers and martians
Thaaaaats the one 👍. Wow so many cameos in such a short clip
14:48 everyone aside from the Roci crew thinks she died when the prison she was in collapsed after the asteroid strike
Oh yeh good point
Camina was always in love with Naomi. ❤
I think you can see it in the very first couple scenes they had together way back in season 2
First sight.
Clarissa's desire for salt is actually listed as one of the symptoms of her failing implant.
It also echoes what Ashford said to Naomi back in season 3. "Guilt is like salt. You put a little on, and it hides all the bitterness."
@BenjCano2020 I mean... I guess you could find some link there. I meant the symptom was actually listed on the diagnosis screen when Clarissa ran herself through the autodoc.

Wes Chatham is credited with writing that one. It was very fun.
Man that dude is talented
It definitely all goes to hell if Holden just carried on drinking 😂
I love that instead of a sex scene, we got a fight scene. Either could've progressed their relationship the same direction.
Good point 😂

So good guys! So sorry it had to end, but it was an incredible ride. Great job gents.
That flew by
glad u guys watched!!!!!!
I’m glad we did too. Almost wouldn’t have if everyone didn’t tell us they existed 🙃

So great that you reacted to these bonus clips!
Almost like a behind the scenes look at the crew

True. It's more info on their personalities rather than the story itself. And with a 6 episode season they probably couldn't fit it in either.
That theory makes sense. Crazy how it's not totally obvious till we see these small clips
There were more little hints throughout the seasons, but very subtle though.
Season 1, episode 1: Naomi: someday you need to tell me the story about how you got this job.
Had to tell us right at the end 😂
@@RamblersInc rewatching that episode at the end of season 6 is wild. Avasarala asking the Belter why he was trafficking stealth coatings was the big clue they put in there, but so many others.

We've got that on the list. Haven't watched an animated series in a while and this one had really good reviews.
Oh, great! I thought you weren't going to watch these shorts. 😊
We had to. It’s more Expanse 🙌
Yes. I have had a few withdrawal symptoms after the last episode, so I read books 7-9.

Well said. There are levels to abuse and hers was psychological (at least that we're shown).
The word you guys were looking for was, "vignettes."
Thaaannnk you. That's the one.
You two could squeeze out 1 more reaction by watching the blooper reels .. 🤔
I love a good blooper. Sadly I’ve already watched them three times 🤣. It’s a shame we didn’t get bloopers for all seasons.
Where does one find this episode?
Amazon has an X-Ray feature where you get to see cast, crew, behind the scenes etc. This is in the season 6 X-ray as 5 short clips.
@RamblersInc thanks so much! I looked it up, and learned that they can't be viewed on a television, so I guess I'm pirating my kid desktop computer.
😂
