- Oven Fried Chicken Tenders
chicken tenderloins
1 stick butter
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups flour + 1 cup flour
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
3 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
Preheat oven to 425°. Melt the butter in a 9“ x 13“baking dish.
In a large dish, place the 1 1/2 cups flour for the first dredge.
Place the buttermilk in another large bowl for the second dredge.
Stir together, in a third dish the one cup flour, breadcrumbs, paprika, sage, black pepper, seasoned salt, and Italian seasoning to use as the third dredge.
Start by dredging each chicken tenderloin in the 1 1/2 cups flour, then in the buttermilk, and then in the flour/breadcrumb mixture. Place in the baking dish with the melted butter. Continue dredging the tenderloins until your 9 x 13 dish is full. Do not crowd the chicken tenders in the dish.
Bake 25 minutes, flipping the tenderloins about halfway through the baking time.
Serve plain or with dipping sauces.

Thank you Tom and Melissa for another great recipe so simple but oh so good I don’t know but you know the little white tendon that’s in chicken tender or even chicken breast to make tender if you take the end of the white part between a fork tine and grab a hold with a paper towel and pull the whole thing will pull out in one piece and no trying to cut them out God bless you and your family and keep those fantastic recipes coming
This is why kids keep coming back home because of meals like this 😂
Whatever gets them home is fine by us! Geez we miss them!
I appreciate your organization & details when presenting all your reciepes!!
Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate you watching our channel!
Tom I love your grammar! Unlike vast numbers of TH-camrs, you know when to use well and good. You are a dream. A Christian man who cooks. Got a single twin brother with those same qualities who would like to meet some nice women in Tennessee ?
😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for watching. Tom has really appreciated your comment. Although he’s always wished for a brother, he’s never had one.
I love that he cools it off for you too. 😅
I am not very gifted with being able to fry chicken and so I never even try. But this is a wonderful alternative! Thank you guys and God Bless! ☺️
This is a lot easier than frying, we agree! We hope you enjoy it love do.
So glad to have a breaded chicken recipe that's not fried but baked. Will definitely try this soon. 😊
We hope you enjoy it like we do. It’s very nice to have a baked option, we agree!
I use 1 dredging of Flour, salt & Smoked Paprika. Letting the butter melt in my 9"x13" Pan... in my preheated oven @ 375°F. Bake x 39 minutes, turn over bake 15 min. If not pink= OK, to eat; if not, turn 1x more, bake 25 min again. Cool on rack over 3 layers of paper towel.
Salt as desired.
Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. It’s so nice to have you watching our channel. Hope you’re having a great day.
I like putting the flour and seasoning in a sealed container or baggie to mix the dry ingredients
I do the same. 😁👍
That works, too. Thanks so much for watching.
Can't wait to try this one out. BTW - a great way to dredge is to use the clear, glass pie plates. They are cheap at Walmart (most times less than $3) and they don't have corners. They are good pans for a lot of things. Another good tip is if you want to save that third dredge for another time, put it in an empty and clean spice bottle. Love your videos. I'm sharing them all the time. I also appreciate the recipes in the description box so I don't have to sit through cooks hawking their cookbooks. You guys are the best!
You should not save a dredge when used for something like this. It has the milk and the raw chicken in it. It will make you very sick if you use it again at a later date.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing with us. And we really appreciate that you’ve shared our channel and videos. That helps us grow our channel. And we are so glad the recipe in the description box is helpful. Hope you’re having a great week.
You can’t save the leftover dredge once raw chicken has been in it!
@@MurtB6878 You are absolutely correct. I hadn't even considered that. I guess if it's a dredge you use often enough, you could mix up a full bottle of it and just pour it out and use it as needed (and discard the used portion, as you've pointed out). Thanks.
Put in freezer because of the chicken .@@comesitatmytable9044
Love your videos but I never have anybody cook chicken that tastes good. But I will try to cook it for my family.
We hope you enjoy these strips! Thanks so much for watching our channel.
❤hi Tom my family likes chicken tenders. I will make these in a few days. Your recipes are so easy to follow. How about some recipes for Diabetes. 🙏
MELISSA AND TOM❤ ITS STILL A GREAT JOY TO BE ONE OF YOUR VIEWERS AND EVERYTHING LOOKS YUMMY AGAIN TONIGHT! I AM CERTAINTLY GOING TO TRY THIS DELICIOUS FRIED CHICKEN! THIS WEEK END!😊❤🙏GOD BLESS YOU BOTH❤🙏🙏
We really appreciate your kind comment. It is so nice having you watching our channel. We hope you’re having a great week and that your upcoming weekend is fabulous, as well!
I love this recipe we make bird dogs. We take our chicken tenders and put them on a bed of lettuce in a hotdog bun. These would be perfect for bird dogs and a little pickle wings.
This is going to be dinner tomorrow night with some Macaroni and Cheese. Thanks for the great idea.
Oh yum, I bet fixing the chicken this way will be so juicy and tender! ❤❤
We love chicken tenders and use the same recipe
YUM! 😊
Great chicken dinner. It's always great watching you may God bless you both as I pray for only good things for you. Love ya both. Thank you
Thank you so much for that nice reply. We do appreciate that you are watching our channel. Have a wonderful day.
HEY TOM YOU GOT TEE SHIRTS!!!! THIS RECIPE IS A KEEPER TOO THANKS
Yes! A friend of ours made them for us.
We hope you enjoy the chicken soon. It’s a great meal we believe.
This is awesome, I like an easy fried chicken
Hey Tom I just found this recipe video by you. I'm definitely going to cook this for my 8yo son. He really loves chicken tenders. Thanks very much Tom and Melissa. You both are very great wonderful amazing people ❤️. 🤘😎🥃👍💯
Would love these dipped in Frank’s hot sauce mixed with honey. I think I’ll fix them Sunday. I always buy chicken breast and cut my own strips. I’ll be making your key lime pie this weekend too. Can’t wait to try it. These are almost as good as my breaded tenderloin sandwiches. That’s an Indiana thing. Can’t get them in Nicholasville. Have a blessed evening. 🙏🏻
I’m not sure I’d agree these are a healthier choice, but I don’t cook like southerners do, ie, I don’t deep fry. I generally brown things then finish in the oven. I use very little oil and usually it’s canola oil, but not always. I’m sure they are delicious. I’ll certainly try them. Thank you.
I made the lasagna roll-ups today. They are in the oven. They smell heavenly. Thanks for the recipe! Oh, man they were delicious! Thanks again!
Glad you like them! And thank you so much for letting us know they were a hit. Hope you’re having a wonderful day.
😋😋😋awesome as usual 😃😃🦋
I’m making the same breaded. chicken dish today.
Finally a breaded chicken recipe that will work. Thank you!
I really enjoy chicken tenders! Thank you for the recipe
Thanks for watching! We appreciate that you’ve joined us at the table. Have a wonderful weekend.
My favorite meal!! And I’m on board Tom!! Go ahead, don’t let me interrupt! 👍😁. I’m signing off to pay attention, & hush now. Love y’all! Hey Melissa! Eat some for me! Oh wait! You don’t have to! I’m making some myself after bit! Duh! 🤦🏽♀️. Deb from Centerville, Indiana. ( yes! I’m back!). Lol. God bless!
Looks good, I will be making these!!
Another great recipe for my collection. Thanks Tom and Melissa.❤
Tom, what did your family call each meal growing up? In the hills of Mississippi, we said breakfast, dinner, and supper. I've stayed true to my raising and still say breakfast, dinner, and supper. Just wondering what you and your readers called the three meals.
Here in Baton Rouge we called our meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!!
@@ednaearp9051in our household, it's breakfast, lunch and dinner. I grew up in Southern California.
Love your recipes! Keep on posting . Love the way you take it slow and explain everything. Thank you !
Sounds great
We enjoy them! Thank you so much for watching our channel.
Just stumbled across ya'lls channel... so glad that I did... making both of these for dinner tonight... thank you... 🇺🇲❤️🙏
Tha k you guys Looks great.
Looks amazing. Chicken is my favorite food and I’m always looking for different ways to cook it. Will give these a try. Thanks. Really do enjoy your videos.
For all those who complain about using a wet measuring cup vs dry, there really isn’t a lot of difference. No difference actually. They both hold 16 tablespoons. The issue comes in accuracy. Dry ingredients need to be leveled with a knife or other straight flat tool and that’s not really possible in a wet measuring cup. 🤣 I’m kind of nerdy so I like to look that stuff up and thought I’d share. 😂 I’ve cooked and baked for a lot of years and have always done the “wrong” thing by scooping flour rather than spooning it into the cup, and I’ve used wet measuring cups for dry ingredients and vice verse. Guess what. It never made a discernible difference. Haha! So all the folks who watch TH-cam and suddenly think they’re chefs can rest easy. It will all be okay! Haha!
You are my favorite cook on Internet .my kids would have loved you as there teacher.
I saw this video come up when you posted it & tried waiting until right before I can get groceries...I almost made it! My son is 22 but could still live on chicken tenders! I don't deep fry & am always looking for new easy recipes like this to try! I know what I need to add to my grocery list now, thank you!
This looks awesome. I usually fry my chicken tenders...not anymore. Thank you!
Another great dinner for me to make have a blessed day 🙏
wanted to let you know I made your Russian Chicken and it was a huge hit. We live with my sister and developmentally disabled nephew. i help take care of him I do most of the cookingand am always on the lookout for new recipes. My nephew is very limited in what he eats. A lot of times it is all about the texture. ell let me tell you, he just scarfed that chicken right up. Gave him leftovers the following night. My sister has a problem now eating red meat, so happy we got this recipe as now I have something to add to my nephew's menu rotation. Thank you so much for sharing this. Sorry about my typing, can only type with one hand.
You did a great job typing. No worries. How nice that you live together with your family and that you assist each other. We are so glad your nephew likes the Russian chicken and we hope he enjoys these chicken tenders, too. Thank you for sharing your story with us. We hope you have a wonderful day.
Yum! Putting my grocery list together now...thank you!!
When it comes to chicken.. a TH-cam invite just won’t work for me… so, I will be there soon.. I promise to knock first!! lol
Thanks for sharing your recipe!
Me too!
As long as you knock first! 😊. Thanks so much for watching and we hope your upcoming weekend is great and filled with chicken tenders!
Hello from Louisville! I’m making these this afternoon with mashed potatoes and peas!
I had dental work done this week and I made these tonight and they were perfect, very tender not crunchy love them.
Can’t
Wait to make this for sure!
We hope you enjoy it. Thank you very much for watching our channel.
Cannot wait to try this recipe!! Looks GREAT!!
Bet those would make great sandwiches too
I use some of the same ingredients when making ck tenders. But I let the chicken set in the buttermilk for 5 mins before moving on. Also I add 1 tablespoon of parmigiana (the one with the green lid) into the last dredge per tender.
Cant wait to try! Another great recipe. Thanks for sharing. God bless!
We certainly hope you enjoy them. We do appreciate that you were watching our channel. Thank you so much for joining us at the table! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks for this recipe, I have some chicken tenders in my freezer that I was planning to can, but I think I will try this recipe instead for tomorrow night’s dinner!
Delicious looking dish ❤
Wow. This is definitely a keeper for Herb and I. Delicious
Great video! 😊
Looks delicious!!! I really like these baked, but hubby prefers fried! Ugh! Still may try this again! It’s been years - maybe I can pull it off! Ha!
Love your channel!
Yummy
We appreciate the both of you and fixing a main dish that doesn’t require frying but cooking in the Oven and yes another Great meal I’m having ❤❤❤❤
Looks delicious 😊
great reci9es
I love 🐔 chicken.❤ Thanks for this recipe. May God be your all everyone, ❤✝️🕊🙏❤️
That looks delicious. Will surely be trying this. The only thing I would do differently is to remove the tendons from those tenderloins. Good tip on how to do that on TH-cam. Imagine that!
This recipe looks delicious ! Would the chicken brown better if the chicken was flooded over in the butter before baking it ?? I’m just asking because I’ve baked chicken before but I’ve never baked breaded chicken before!! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
Just made these today..the best chicken I’ve ever had. I usually dip in ranch dressing but these actually taste better without a dip. I will be making these again. Awesome. Thanks again
Thank you so much for sharing these delicious recipes .
Yum! I'm on a heart healthy diet now. I love baked chicken. Have a blessed evening.
Will try this tonight! Thanks, husband just came home and asked why our giant bag of chicken tenders were sitting out and I told him I was seeing how many I needed! He said just enough for us. I'm counting on leftovers also. Looks delicious and love all the seasonings.
We hope you enjoyed them. Thank you very much for watching our channel. Have a great weekend!
Your chicken tenders look delish. Funny story: you must have an LG stove with the musical timer. When yours went off I jumped up and wondered what I set the timer for. Then I realized it was your timer. 😂
Love that story! And yes we have an LG stove.
I love that this is baked and not fried. It looks so delicious. I so can't wait to make them! Thank you!😊
I made these tonight for dinner and they were delicious!!! Thank you and Melissa for all the awesome recipes!!!
Hello Tom & Melissa- this looks like a great recipe . It is nice to put it in the oven to prepare. I buy the big package of the chicken breast . Then cut it up & get it ready for the freezer. I dice some like for chicken stir fry with veggies. We butterfly the thicker pieces to make strips/ tenders. Then I freeze it in portions for the two of us. It makes it so easy to thaw & cook when we want it. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Enjoy the rest of your week & the upcoming weekend. 👏👏👏💕🌻
Thank you so much. We appreciate that you are watching our channel. We hope you get to enjoy this recipe sometime soon.
Looks Good!! Thank you for a less mess recipe
Hello Tom and Melissa your chicken tenders looked so delicious thankyou so much for sharing my favorite vegetables are peas and carrots I am sorry I am running behind on videos Could you say a prayer for me I have been sick and the hospital I would really appreciate it God bless you both 🙂🥰👨🍳👩🍳
Suzanne.. I’m praying for you.. I hope you’ll be better very soon ♥️🙏♥️… Janet from Milwaukee, WI
Hello Suzanne. I'm so sorry that I'm so late finding your prayer request but I'm praying for you right this minute! I certainly hope you are feeling better.
@@comesitatmytable9044 thankyou so much for praying for me God bless you 🙏🏻
Thanks Milissa and Tom , I sure appreciate your show! I made Russian Chicken tonight and it sure was tasty! Can’t wait to try oven fried chicken next!
Sounds great. I wrote this down. I like the way you cut the butter in tablespoons and spread it all over the baking pan evenly instead of doing what I do, which is placing the whole stick into the pan to melt it.
By the way, I did try three more of your recipes, the Sue's spaghetti sauce, the Maw Maw macaroni salad, and Corn Dip using the recommended Fritos Scoops. All three are excellent. I would not hesitate to make them again if the occasion calls for it.
I've been wanting a way to cook chicken that's different from how I usually do it & this is perfect. I know we'll love it.😊
This looks wonderful! Also, most of the mess can be cleaned while the chicken is baking.
So eassy & delicious looking. Thank you so very much.
This looks yummmmmmmy!!! This is a must try:) I was chuckling when Tom said, “I don’t forget” I was watching yesterday when he was making the yams dish and he forgot to add the pecans to the topping:) what is it they say never say, never like I never forget:) lol tfs and God bless:)
He knows he does so we just make a joke about it. You’ve got to laugh at yourself or you’ll never make it!
I can't wait to try this. I will do a smaller amount. Because it's just me. I would put them in my hot air fryer. I have another recipe I do. Were I dredge my chicken tenders in a mayo and mustard mixture. Then dredge them in well seasond panko bread crumbs. Cook them in the hot air fryer at 400 degrees for 2 minutes a side. They come really good as well. I really like the batter you use. Thanks for all you do. Love your videos ❤.
Thank you so much for the nice words. We appreciate that you are watching our channel. Hope you enjoy this recipe!
Thanks Tom and Melissa - a new way to cook chicken tenders! Look forward to trying this method.
The doc says no fried food...this will be a winner. Thanks
Hi Tom & Melissa! Love the show!❤ A tip, spray your pan with pam and the parchment paper will stay where you want it to!! ❤

These tenders look good, I’m going to try them as soon as I buy some buttermilk! I am fairly new to you channel and I have made many of your recipes. I like them because they are everyday sensible recipes. You do a great job of being clear about how to make them and your wife does a great job with the camera and also she makes sure that your instructions are exactly right…so cute. Thank you for such a good cooking channel, I’m watching!🩷
