Actually, an electrician in the comments explained that the idea does make some sense, because the capacitor could increase the power factor, but I think in reality it does basically nothing, maybe it could save you a few cents a month max
@@Industry-insider in the usa i dont know of any electric that is paid by VA. since the device only improves power factor (VA) it will not affect the wattage which is how the us bills its electric.
@@jasonbay13 I think a low power factor does actually causes higher watts for the same load, plus there could also be a microscopic gain from smaller power spikes from poorly designed circuits and improperly handled inductive loads being reduced by the capacitor, but it would still never pay for itself, and you’d probably need a bigger capacitor for it to even be measurable
The way to see if the power saver is doing anything should have been to plug the strip with both the saver and the fan into the outlet of the Kill-a-Watt. You might have been able to see the Volt-amp-reactive (VAR) number decrease and the power factor move closer to 1.0 when the saver is plugged into the strip with the fan already running. Here in the US power factor, the phase angle between voltage and current, is baked into residential bills assuming an average value. Improving power factor would be kind to your electric company, but it won’t lower your residential bill. The black box in the power saver might be a capacitor; it seemed to show gradually increasing resistance when the meter was on it. Of course the capacitor, if it is one, is way too small to meaningfully correct the phase angle between the voltage and current waveforms. Capacitor banks actually do work when they are applied at industrial scale. The business I worked for was majority fluorescent lighting and HVAC blower motors and presented to very inductive load to the power company. It was a non-profit organization, so the power company talked their retiree association into making a capacitor bank donation. The capacitors would equal and cancel out the inductive load so that voltage and current waveforms on the incoming power line would be in phase. Being in phase reduces energy lost in the power line. The capacitor bank was about the size of two refrigerators.
The power saver works by using a capacitor to change the phase between the voltage and current. This is real but it depends on whiter you have inductive loads or not. Most homes won’t see much of a savings. And you can not measure the change with your power consumption meter. I would recommend you study the effects of capacitance and inductance on AC power.
Came to say this. In large facilities, they are penalized by the utility for low power factor. They have large capacitors to correct power factor. From a technical standpoint, this product could help correct power factor from inductive loads. However, the big issue is that residential customers don’t get penalized for low power factor…. @@cheris5265judging by the audio in the room it’s not the garage, he might be moving to a different house, especially since he went outside and it wasn’t his normal backyard
I read the comments before I commented. I read one comment that was very close on the first power saving box. The way you tested it would never test what it actually is supposed to do. What it is supposed to do is make the power consumption meter that measures the power supplied to the house show less consumption. The box does this by smoothing the sign wave Alternating Current (AC) to nearly a true sign wave. All power company input cables accept "noise" (inherent electrical surges in the nearby environment) onto the input line. When this noise modulated voltage is measured by your meter it still measures the positive "noise" spikes as power usage. The power saving box smooths these spike out and the regular voltage from the power company is not affected, but the meter is. All your devices still use the same power, it is just that the meter is reading only what is actually used and not the noise spikes. The way to test this device is to stabilize the power usage and take a monthly usage report. Then plug in the power saver, and take a new report at the same time lapse and same stabilized power usage. If there is a change it could reasonably be assumed that the difference is generated by the power saver. I purchased one of these boxes just to see what is inside and it is a commercial power filter using a large capacitor and a couple of coils (and a few resistors) to form a "Pi" filter. It is called a Pi filter because on a schematic it looks similar to the Greek character π. In a household system it does make the meter move slower and will save enough in one month to pay for its self but not much more. Over a year about $200.00. If you are on a tight budget you probably do not have enough "extra change" laying around to by it. If you do you would probably not notice because of all the other things that affect you power consumption. It is basically a faith product. If you believe in it and use, it it will work for you, just not enough to matter.
As you pointed out with the resistive electrical characteristics of a space heater, the resistance increases as it heats up so less current flows. The idea behind the little box is probably to reduce reactive power, which is stored in electric and magnetic fields by capacitance and inductance. A house with all its wiring and appliances is one big electrical circuit. The solid metal box inside is probably a capacitor. Reactive power may not be much of an issue in 2024. Pretty cool that your necklace uses duranium, since that's also used in building 23rd century starships.

Lmao you reminded me of that guy that made a video of driving his Tesla in a car wash and acting as if he was getting electrocuted 😂😂😂😂😂
That's hilarious😅😅😅😅😅
You've got a fan in me, keep 'em coming!
Plug that thing in it blocks the other plug. If you can't use the plug you can't use energy, thus lowering the energy consumption. 🤣
When you was bangin that hammer around i was like aye aye aye vibing to the beat of hammer lol
I miss the garage... these blank walls are evil.
For the necklace, they can make those claims as long as they state that they have not been evaluated by the FDA, and that the product is not intended to treat, diagnose or cure any disease.
an even worse, for some of these items "negative ions" means slightly radioactive.
“Let’s put on our necklace.” The dead pan KILLS me.
Where’s mom’s spaghetti 😊
I know where ur m o m is
How they get away with stuff like that is because they word their advertisements in a way that it’s not guaranteed to work. “This product COULD…” “This product MAY…” “Has shown to”. They never use the words will, guaranteed, proven, ext…
Your production value has gone through the roof. Watching this felt just like the first time I saw Jurassic Park. Keep up the good work man. Love your content.
I remember Tyler having an eviction notice a few videos back I think that might explain the background 😅
We demand a garage door with donor lists half-assedly taped up!
And spaghetti 🍝
With a side of noodles
I think you should put up a frame on that blank wall behind you containing all our names that bought the T-Shirts! It makes sense and it will look good! pay homage to the ones that were there from the start! For the Record my name is Big-D
Tyler wore probably radioactive dust infused bracelet and necklace 💀💀💀
He's gotta go back to the garage door. The back ground makes it look like I'm watching an AI generated tylertube video
Need sun glasses to so bright it hurts your eyes lol
FYI, O.L. on meters mean OPEN LINE not OVERLOAD.🔧
It actually means out of limit. Which on a continuity or resistance setting means infinite resistance which is in fact an open line. But on a voltage or current setting it just means the reading is higher than whatever setting you’re on.
Anything that "gives off negative ions" is most likely radioactive. I'd check that necklace
Did Tyler somehow managed to bring the table from the garage, into his house?
He's in the garage.... it's just a new backdrop
@@cheris5265 How would you know?
@@cheris5265judging by the audio in the room it’s not the garage, he might be moving to a different house, especially since he went outside and it wasn’t his normal backyard
@@cheris5265it’s not the garage look at when he takes apart the first product you can tell it’s an actual room or something
Yeah it's not the garage. Some different camera views you can tell. Different floor too
I read the comments before I commented.
Brimg the garage back 😊
He probably burned down his garage 😂
As you pointed out with the resistive electrical characteristics of a space heater, the resistance increases as it heats up so less current flows. The idea behind the little box is probably to reduce reactive power, which is stored in electric and magnetic fields by capacitance and inductance. A house with all its wiring and appliances is one big electrical circuit. The solid metal box inside is probably a capacitor. Reactive power may not be much of an issue in 2024. Pretty cool that your necklace uses duranium, since that's also used in building 23rd century starships.
Big Clive took the exact same one apart 3 years ago.

yeah in a industrial electric grid and if the box is 3 huge capacitors plugged in star pattern by a pro, not a box u plug on your house
The way it reacted to the multimeter suggests that is indeed a capacitor.
I loved the og garage door more, it was more like home made
Darn…I am going to miss the stuck spaghetti on the wall!
You cut that necklace open and my tv went off. Thanks for releasing that stuff. GAH
Bring back the garage
YES
I fucks with the nice back drop lol and the fact you showed absolutely no reaction to slamming your finger with a drill bit scares the absolute crap out of me. What kind of serial killer are you🤣
For those to work "you gotta BELIEVE" 😂😂
Please go back to the garage. I like that so much more.😢 it added so much character to your videos
Pdsdebt here just so u guys know if your in debt and are having trouble come get more in debt wit us well pay ya off 😂
First garage door gone?
and then last 2 items are most likely radioactive so plz get rid of them.
I suppose those power savers would work at some level since you can't plug as many things in since you're wasting an outlet for each of them.
Glad i found your channel. Was getting tired of call scammer revenge videos. This is a wonderful Segway.
Tyler, where are you? The echo is brutal.
He's in the garage as usual. He added a backdrop.
The garage has always had echoes
@@cheris5265 nope your wrong, tyler is to lazy to add a back drop and at @8:05 you can see a open door that goes to a hallway
@@Unthawed_Piei like to think he’s just turned around and is still in the garage
I'd personally be very cautious when wearing and storing the magical (potentially radioactive) wristbands/other balance/focus crap, some of the ones you buy may contain thorium dioxide.
Ja luultavasti kuolet nopeammin pois täältä😂
It's just not the same! Bring back the garage! 😂
I feel like Tyler and ProjectFarm would make an amazing collaboration together 😂
"There's a sucker born every minute."
P.T. Barnum
I love how Tyler interpreted the word "balance"!
The Shed had a pickle infestation
My dad bought all of us those dumb balance bracelets😂 I remember he cut them open and it was just silver paper.
Better sound in the garage. Sound sucks in the white room.
That's crazy, the last video I watched was "Carbonating Things That Should NEVER Be Carbonated With Soda Stream!" From 3 years ago
Crazy how we can just start watching a video and the creator the same comfort and feel that they've always had
Wait, what happened to the garage, why are we in the void all of a sudden?
Hey Tyler, you should test that gas saver thing in the daytime. I'm thinking just the cold night air gave you better mileage.
The necklace probably gets around legal rules by not being defined as a medical device. For example, all the supplements you see at Walgreens in the vitamin aisle are classified as food, which is why they all have the disclaimer “Not tested by the FDA, not intended to treat any disease.”
1,2: Box that does nothing except looking like it does something
3: grill igniter
4: Shoddy enchanted necklace of radioac... balancing.
5: Shoddy enchanted wristband of frequency
nahh the garage gone
I like the garage better than the green screen
I came down here just for the garage door.
Tyler, I'm telling you to get rid of that necklace, "negative ion" technology is a way sellers can sell radioactive items, and it could be radioactive, I recommend you get rid of it immediately, check out some TH-cam videos on negative ion products to help you be more informed in this stuff, thank you.
Back to the garage!!!😢
