Ash's performance in every video is nothing short of impressive. He doesn't look like he has much of a physique, but hey - looks can be deceiving. His physical conditioning is levels above a lot of young, active athletes who are in their prime. Kudos!
One of the reasons why I think ash is such a great athlete and is able to learn things so quickly is because of how bold he is. he isn't afraid to try something new and has enough trust in his own body to know that he can prevent himself from being seriously injured. This allows him to fully maximize is capabilities with the knowledge and experience that he has.
At first I was getting disillusioned and thought maybe gymnasts weren't as strong as I thought. Then you show the clip from when you were in Olympic form and I was reassured. Must have been some crazy training back then.
For Ash, the press-up box jump doesn't get harder after some point. The first time he counted himself out he already pressed himself almost up into standing upright, so unless the boxes are so high he's too short to reach them he can't lose here.
I'd very honestly love a video about how your body has changed over the years due to the amount of exercise you were doing at the time. I'm very interested in the amount of hours trained and if there is a plateu or cap in physique build. I've read a few interesting essays on it, I'd love to see some video essays about it. P.S. Ash is beast. Just needed to state the obvious. >_>
I would guess he trained between 5-7 hours a day. In terms of plateau I can only speculate as I am not a gymnast and not to mention professional in any means. A teacher of mine put it this way: building muscle is an adaptation to compensate for muscle fatigue due to the stimulus/demands imposed to the body while strength training. His point was we are building muscle by strength training, when the muscle can’t hold up to the demands anymore and is fatigued. I can only take a guess here as well and I think there is a somewhat of a plateau to it, as once they reached top tier static elements like the victorian cross, they will probably improve their intermuscular coordination, so they’ll be able to hold it as still as possible, gain maybe a little bit of muscle, but not much anymore, as they are moving in a pretty tight spectrum of peak performance, where you need to have an insane weight-to-strength ratio (relative strength), but building too much muscle might get you out of the frame of performing these exercises the best you can. You mentioned essays in your comment. Is there any essay on the internet you might want or can recommend to me?
The heighted part of the competition (box jumps, push ups, etc.) is weighted in favour of tall people regardless if you don't calculate the height as a proportion of size so that isn't really about body building... though I know this is just for laughs anyway but the missed math saddened me :p.
I know you guys like to joke about the others being sculpted adonises, but you are all a handsome bunch, every single one of you! So don't let the statements have any deeper impact than just some harmless fun
Nile- you are getting back there! Don’t you dare feel down on yourself because of what you could do in the before but haven’t yet in the now. You are strong and getting stronger. We can all see it.
Hey Luke- I am wondering if you have ever heard of the Barbell Medicine program? It’s purely strength training and super cool from a scientific point of view. The guys who started it are drs. I know not every program is for everyone but it helped me after I had a stroke from covid. Love to know if youve heard of it.
You will probably not pick this up or see my comment HOWEVER. As a retired baton twirler. I was British champion 11 times in 6 different categories. I competed at europeans and was a part of the England world team for three years.. Haven’t competed in 11 years after breaking my back in 6 places. But 100% would love to see a vlog of “retired champions” in whatever sport that would be so cool :) Putting myself forward for baton twirling 👏🏻✌🏻
Awesome Vid. Your a Hero in my eyes giving everything a try. Your Absolutely Amazing. I like that You said give it a year and You would go back and do this vid again and You will smash. I have no doubt that in a years time You will beat them. Wilsonater forever ❤️
Gymnastic as a sport is so cool (wish I would be able to do just a little bit of it) but because it is a fitness battle I think bodybuilders are probably gonna win this time 🤔
There is no surprise for the result of the first exercise: For those those has longer limb(such as Luke does)it would be much easier to reach the hight.
Dude, I'm 170KG *BEEEFY BOI* and yet I still want to try some of this gymnastics stuff lol. You make it look fun in all these videos, but I know it's much harder than what it seems.
@@trendymaths2467 Do you live under a rock? Anyone can hit that mark or much higher. Although I don't recommend it...you know what, let's just say it was due to Covid.
@@bobbydigital86 oh sorry, didn’t mean to be offensive or anything but it’s just that as 50kg it’s difficult to imagine someone more than thrice my weight. I’ve never encountered someone personally with that weight so I assumed it was well… unreachable.
Both bodybuilders had slightly more lower back on box on last challenge 🤔. But yeah difference between training daily and just coaching with light training 🤷♀️
You guys should really really do one of those water warrior courses!! (dont know the english term for it, i hope you know what i mean. Like in whipe out and stuff?)
Here I am, just reminding you all how normal humans perform 🙋🏻♀️
Has Nile ever been able to beat Ash at anything?
Ah yes you are my motivation as a normal human Joanna you are amazing 👏
You are being modest, you did way better than most would!
Haha you're a pretty athletic human (childhood gymnastics, university sports team, works out regularly). A lot of us don't as much as we should
And that you did. We love you, Joanna! Hugs from Mexico. :)
ash is truly the most well rounded and incredible athlete ive ever seen, like wtf
Not just most well rounded, most round too 😂
I am 31 years old and started gymnastics this month because of your videos. Thanks for being so inspiring! I'm loving this sport!
Good luck with training!
Good luck! I'm 21 and I started gymnastics yesterday ❤
Good luck
great! im 22 and plan to start gymnastics by end of year i thought it was too late because of my age
Ash's performance in every video is nothing short of impressive. He doesn't look like he has much of a physique, but hey - looks can be deceiving. His physical conditioning is levels above a lot of young, active athletes who are in their prime. Kudos!
He looks powerful not necessarily as cut but definitely powerful

Luke literally floats in the air jumping higher and higher!
Ash’s reaction to everything is everything lol 😂
I'm here for Ash's attention 😍
Ash's army here!
is there literally anything ash cant do man is a beasst!! loving the videos
I'm 32 I'm disabled after a stroke I watch all of your channels every day it always makes me smile thank you keep it coming
Because of your videos, I am thinking about getting back into gymnastics in my 20s
Even me in my 40 s....!!!
I am always impressed by how Luke jumps and he seems to have amazing balance/stability.
At first I was getting disillusioned and thought maybe gymnasts weren't as strong as I thought. Then you show the clip from when you were in Olympic form and I was reassured. Must have been some crazy training back then.

Age always provides a cap regardless.

And the sit up test is weighted in favour of lighter people.
My favorite part of watching this video is seeing how different each body type is, but how strong each of these handsome devils are! GET IT, GUYS!
I know you guys like to joke about the others being sculpted adonises, but you are all a handsome bunch, every single one of you! So don't let the statements have any deeper impact than just some harmless fun
It's just banter.
Nile- you are getting back there! Don’t you dare feel down on yourself because of what you could do in the before but haven’t yet in the now. You are strong and getting stronger. We can all see it.
This is so good! How cool is it to keep pushing yourself like this?! It’s very motivating, thank you ! ♥️
When he said OH MY GOD i instantly continued with Chandler Bing and then he said it as well lol I like Janice way to much😂
Nile don't beat yourself up that you can't dip Ash anymore! We love you! ❤
No one said good job Ash on the box jump because Ash always does well in everything else haha
Hybrid…..I’ll take that as a nickname 🤪

"Oh My God! Chandler Bing!" You’re so hilarious 😂

Your videos make me forget about my depression and want to go back to gymnastics, tnx u 3 are amazing.
Ash: “stay up. Don’t you dare come down”
My brain: that’s what she said
I'm a 41 year old married woman but I love you boys, you make me laugh with your videos 😍 x
48 here and I feel the same. Feel like a proud mama, yet giggling like a school girl at their antics.
Im so obsessed with your videossssss
Same hereeeeee
Love you all! This was epic and so much fun. Just glad I didn't have to do any of it.
Omg I used to watch you years ago and now I finally found you again
"2 retired gymnasts vs 2 active bodybuilders"
Fair. Lol.
Would LOVE to watch Luke give volleyball a go with that jump
There is a definite height advantage to the body builders but this was a very fun episode to watch anyway.
I love these videos. I'm 40 and started doing some gymnastics at home again. I love this sport so much!
I underestimated Ash the first time I saw him in a video. I will never make that mistake again… 😳 🙌
Had a dream I was doing backflips the other night. Like wtf you guys are seriously so entertaining to watch
Yessss bodybuilders all the way👏👏👏 gymnasts are powerful in different way, well done, enjoyable🎯
Never underestimate yourself Ash. Your a little pocket rocket, powerhouse.
Aw love the pep talk: 08:02
Not to worry Nile and Ash, there are lots of other skills you have that the two bricks can’t do! But a definite good time was had by all!
Awesome Vid. Your a Hero in my eyes giving everything a try. Your Absolutely Amazing. I like that You said give it a year and You would go back and do this vid again and You will smash. I have no doubt that in a years time You will beat them. Wilsonater forever ❤️
Luke's box jumps are glorious. I'm decent at them but once miscalculated after about my 80th in a circuit and ripped up my shin 😆
Gymnastic as a sport is so cool (wish I would be able to do just a little bit of it) but because it is a fitness battle I think bodybuilders are probably gonna win this time 🤔
There is no surprise for the result of the first exercise:

Shout out to Ellis's edits - they are legit the best
I mean Ash is usually a safe bet for winning any challenge lol 🥇
I was hoping a pull-up test would be a part of it! Next Time!
Dude, I'm 170KG *BEEEFY BOI* and yet I still want to try some of this gymnastics stuff lol. You make it look fun in all these videos, but I know it's much harder than what it seems.
170kg?! How the hell is that possible?!

Ellis- this video was the best yet!!!
Voll tolle Übungen, klasse.
I prefer Nile clean shaven but that’s just me 🙋🏼♀️
Your videos always makes me laugh ..very entertaining 😂😂
Me laughing as I did a 6" box jump, caught my toe and fell 😂
The ginger beard!!!!!🤣❤️
5:00 is so funny to me, i dont know what it is but the jumping and what he said was just so funny
That competition was not fair since Nile and Ash are a lot shorter than the bodybuilders.
This is the ultimate maneuver.
Extra energy hahahahaha
Tops off all ✌️
Well done ash!
These are good tests. Thanks for doing this.
Nile makes me feel tan. Thanks, buddy
The first challenge, I was like ''dude the bodybuilders are taller though'' 😂
I said the body builders would win but the gymnasts gave them a run for their money. I really liked this video
Old vid I know but "dipping ash" just didn't sound right hahahahaha lmao x
So want to see a gymnasts vs circus performers/ trapeze artists/ silks video
If you had had a flexibility round I think it might have evened the score!
you guys are insane in the best way possible 😂
I’m dying at that song that plays anytime they show a slowmo of ash 😂
any idea what is it called brother?
I watch just to perv 🤗🤷♀️
Same. Why lie 🤷🏼♀️
That beard makes you look retired 🤣 (I love you 😆)
You’re an absolute beast. Always loved your content since day one!
well done ash
More like this videos please.
I really miss Neil and Nile vlogs! :(
As if you were at goodbodys in Retford, mental!
"It's not about size, it's what u can do with it"
4:42 best part of the vid is that edit lol
Ash and Wilson forsure
Give it a go Joanna
Ah the boys back in their prime with that flashback haha.
the second he uploaded a video, i clicked it
Love you Nile...and everyone else, I guess. Lol😁
Ash is a star!
Me: Looks up when The Arnold is happening. It’s next Sunday when I’ll be out of town. 🥺🥺🥺
Both bodybuilders had slightly more lower back on box on last challenge 🤔. But yeah difference between training daily and just coaching with light training 🤷♀️
love you!
5:49 lmao could literally effect his sponsors with that kind of information lol look at his reaction
THE OLD INTRO!!!
You guys should really really do one of those water warrior courses!!
(dont know the english term for it, i hope you know what i mean. Like in whipe out and stuff?)
Just watching those dips hurts my elbows man
