unique sung just as well as some of the originals if not better but she was very underrated since she came in the later seasons and was overshadowed by marley in season 4
I got the feeling that once Unique was part of the main cast that the writers sort of thought "Oh... Well what do we actually want to do with this character now?" There were a few good stories and arcs, but they did tend to be short and not explored in particular depth.

The winner was supposed to get a nine episode arc and the runner up to get a two episode one, so, while they kept that for Lindsay/Harmony, all the other three got their amount of episodes extended (Like, Damian/Rory for what remained of season three, Samuel/Joe all the way to "All Or Nothing" and Alex/Unique, well, a way longer amount)

He also does like to dress in more ‘feminine’ clothing, which may be confusing. His pronouns are still he/him though. However, Unique is has a different gender identity than Alex. Unique is a transgender woman (male to female). When we’re first introduced to her, she hasn’t transitioned yet. As the series went on though, Unique did end up coming out as a transgender woman. If you have issues with anything I said, do a quick google search. It’s not that hard.
the botched that up by having beast transition randomly. could have been a much stronger storyline, but we couldn't have the actually trans character transition, we have to give that storyline to beast the person we specifically had several time state they wanted to be seen and treated like a women. they didn't ever give a backstory to it they just had sue find the hormone pills.

I don't know if it's 100 percent true, but it's said that the reason the disco theme from the pilot got cut because the network thought disco was to tranny (which, as you may know, is a transphobic slur). Now, the network couldn't do anything about Alex's casting due to his contract with glee and the glee project, so they couldn't prohibit anything Alex was doing on the show, and glee did its first (and luckily only) disco episode with a huge trans story. Boy, what a show.
