Had anyone ever played AFTERBURNER in an arcade back in the early 80's? IIRC the machine was able to rotate about 45° in every direction. That was a blast!

Awesome setup! I’ve always wanted one since trying out Sega’s r360 back in the day. Now that was a spectacular experience - taking you vertical in a split second. Many folks lost their lunch on that thing! Would love to see one modded for modern flight sims. .

You cant call Ace Combat a sim.... Its an unrealistic Arcade game. You get yiur rockets restocked in air, can carry 30 and rockets just automatically go for flares although they are fox 3's or fox 1's. You get an RWR tone for a fox 2 on you, no realistic sensor emulation, nor any other system. No High fidelity cockpit or realistic flight models.
This is absolutely awesome, im so jelous, im currently playing through the ps2 Ace Combat games, i cannot believe how good those games are. Cant wait to play 7.

Some years ago while in DC, I took a ride in an F-16 flight simulator at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. It had full roll (360º) and a limited pitch capability (-30/+30º maybe). Huge box, but takes the thrill to the next level. Don't get me wrong, this guy's setup is awesome, but I just think the mobility range is very limited for the price tag someone else mentioned (25K USD?).
I heard about a few auctions where surplus aircraft were going for practically nothing. It just costs so much in fuel to have them in the air and that's what was stopping prospective buyers, not the cost of the craft outright but rather the fuel to actually use it.
Leeeegit. Having a family that is totally ok with such an extensive hobby is pretty amazing too. Too many people would be quick to stigmatize this kind of dedication to "just a game".

I notice it leans in the directions of turning which would only make sense after the pilot has stopped experiencing G forces. It should technically lean opposite of the direction of turn into G has equalized. Just something that I noticed 😂 dope concept fr and I've thought about this for a while now

I notice it leans in the directions of turning which would only make sense after the pilot has stopped experiencing G forces. It should technically lean opposite of the direction of turn into G has equalized. Just something that I noticed 😂 dope concept fr and I've thought about this for a while now
