Thanks for sharing you meet up and your thoughts afterward. For someone who has been traveling for 20 years but to tell other organizations stories, it's cool to see you tell personal stories and get others excited about travel through your experiences. I have just recently started to share my own experiences on TH-cam in my own way to hopefully do the same thing. It's slow and hard discovering my own voice and my own audience but watching your guys stuff is encouraging me to keep going. It's just fun and cathartic to put them together. I left Izmir in 1990 to Ankara for my undergrad education then to U.S. Since then haven't been back. (occasional summer breaks excluded, and after having my first child in 2000, had work my tail off to pay the bills)Where you guys sat down and had some beer on that grassy patch didn't even exist when I was living in Izmir. In anyways I, from the bottom of my heart, wish and hope that both of you would not loose the optimism and beautiful approach that you have towards life in the days that are coming fast. The paucity of compassion in this ugly world requires people like yourselves show more and more love and optimism and infect others with such.

I grew up in Turkey and Izmir is my hometown. I migrated to United States in my early twenties on my own and have been living here almost a decade now. I haven't been able to visit Turkey since then. It was such a nice feeling to walk on those streets of Alsancak with you guys speaking in english. It felt like 'the new home' to me. I love the states and I want to live for the rest of my life in U.S and love speaking english, to be honest it touches my heart more than Turkish does. But the fact that being grew up in special town of Izmir has also a big place in my heart. I used to drink beer with friends and eat 'midye' on those shores. I don't drink alcohol and I went vegan since then so eating mussels is not my cup of tea anymore (although I can since they aren't sentient) Anyhoo. The truth of the matter is I am no longer a teenage girl on those streets but deep in my heart I am longing for those sunny days in the West coast of Turkey from time to time. That's something I could not replace yet and maybe never will. But that's ok :) Thank you for sharing those moments with me. I appreciate it wholeheartedly!

You guys should visit Eskişehir in the near future. It's not a big city but you'll be surprised what a beatutiful and a nice city it is. It's generaly known as a student town. It's near Ankara, about 3 hours bus journey from Ankara and about 6 hours bus journey from Istanbul and is much more beautiful than Ankara
If you want to experience culture then come to India. Your mind will be blown. Suggested places - Jaipur, Udaipur, Delhi and Kolkata for history. Agra for Tajmahal, Sikkim, Ladakh for mountains, Shillong, Ooty for hill stations, Kerala for houseboat experience, Andaman or Lakshwadeep for island and blue sea, Goa for the beaches, Mumbai, Bangalore for city life... there are a lot more. You just have to experience this once..
Yeah, it's pretty amazing the good rep Turks and Turkey have among travelers - thought in the end you said "incredible INhospitable" - but went back and made sure - it was AND hospitable, nothing else would'a made sense.....:-)

Majority of muslims living in this country think Turkey is an Islamic State, yet it is still a secular republic. In Izmir it is a lot different, I have never experienced any negative thing related to religion or drinking in Izmir. Hardly anyone minds other people's business here.

I am keeping a close watch on your videos uploading. I had a wild idea about visiting turkey but after watching your videos i am very much encouraged and set to visit istanbul and now izmir too. Its great you guys r promoting tourism for various parts of the world. I can totally understand when you get great response after all that hard work. Cideo shooting and then editing uploading is not simple as it seems like. I wish you guys all the best for your great efforts. Visit India you can catch up its diversity.

+Philippe Kubler Hey!! We will move from Turkey to Georgia and the Azerbaijan. From there we fly to Estonia on September 1st and then I think we will head to Finland, Latvia, and Lithuania. You guys should visit Eskişehir in the near future. It's not a big city but you'll be surprised what a beatutiful and a nice city it is. It's generaly known as a student town. It's near Ankara, about 3 hours bus journey from Ankara and about 6 hours bus journey from Istanbul and is much more beautiful than Ankara
In April month I will visit Istanbul please advise me which is the best
If you want to experience culture then come to India. Your mind will be blown. Suggested places - Jaipur, Udaipur, Delhi and Kolkata for history. Agra for Tajmahal, Sikkim, Ladakh for mountains, Shillong, Ooty for hill stations, Kerala for houseboat experience, Andaman or Lakshwadeep for island and blue sea, Goa for the beaches, Mumbai, Bangalore for city life... there are a lot more. You just have to experience this once..

Majority of muslims living in this country think Turkey is an Islamic State, yet it is still a secular republic. In Izmir it is a lot different, I have never experienced any negative thing related to religion or drinking in Izmir. Hardly anyone minds other people's business here.
