I and the many JAZZ fans will come to the DELTA CENTER one day and it will be beautiful! I've been a jazz fan since 1978! GOOOOOOO JAZZ!

Don't tear it down. There are enough other events in this city to support both the Delta Center and a new arena.

Why would you want to waste that wealth and history with a wrecking ball?

Add an attached hotel. It will be booked

Why not a bi-arena setup in Salt Lake county? Maybe both the NBA team and NHL team alternatively play at both. Get the rodeo back. Be aggressive

While you're at it put 300 west underground between the Delta Center and Salt Palace so that you can build a killer plaza on top. It is so dumb that it hasn't happened yet.

Exactly! They just spent over $100 million renovating it, it's essentially a brand new arena. Why not build a Hocky specific arena at a different location? There's nothing that says a hocky arena must be a basketball arena too!

buckle up. This place will house hockey for a while until a dual use hockey-basketball arena can be built (or renovated).

I was told Delta screwed up big time when they lost the rights in 2007. The lady in charge of negotiations from delta tried to play hardball with Larry H Miller and that's why he went with Energy Solutions -- even though the number the Jazz got from ESA was less than what the gal from Delta was authorized to offer.

Please explain this to me. Why, despite the arena changing names, were people so stuck on Delta Center? I would get it if it had a unique name or original name, like Salt Palace, Boston Garden, The Forum, etc. But the building was named after Delta Airlines who purchased the naming rights. What is the loyalty to Delta Airlines? All these people who say, "It should have always been the Delta Center." No it shouldn't have. Delta's contract ended and a new corporate sponsor purchased the naming rights. Here in Portland, people still call the Moda Center the Rose Garden. Okay, that makes sense. But when living in Utah, when people would refer to the Energy Solutions Arena as the Delta Center, I initially thought they were just uniformed and weren't aware the naming rights changed. I would correct them inform them of the name change. They would then say, "Well, I will always view it as the Delta Center." I can't ever seem to get an answer for that. That's so strange to me.

SLC is one of Deltas Western Hubs and an essential part of our economy. It’s been around since the beginning of the airport days and plays a role in our community. The same way those other arenas do.

@@frissie6016 Grammar is not always so cut and dried. Although we may spend time in the garden, people in Boston don't go to The TD Bank Garden nor do New Yorkers go to The Madison Square Garden. Do people in Chicago go to The Wrigley Field? In KC, isn't it simply Arrowhead Stadium even though people go to the stadium? Simply stated, it may vary depending on venue name and location. And what people say may vary from official name and what is used in print.
