- The Smith Entertainment Group and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman discussed the Arizona Coyotes' sale and move to Utah beginning with the 2024-25 NHL season.

Watching Meruelo and Ryan Smith is like night and day.
Meruelo presser was horrible
Embarrassing and Bettman had to correct him and took over the press conference.
As a Coyote Fan I will admit Meruelo should not be in front of a camera often….zero charisma or self awareness…I will say this negative about Ryan Smith….my guys hairline is as bad as Bettmans and Meruelo’s….yikes

Gary flew from hyatt regency phoenix to delta center. Then prep for a conference. Yes he has a team with him but its alot in a day
as an introvert i can feel for him. he came off passionate about the team but came in with a huge mess that was difficult to fix. didn't help that you guys didn't support him getting an arena.
Hopefully Ryan Smith hired Someone different to design the jerseys. Then he did with the Utah Jazz Because he completely botched those jerseys
Sad,nothing against salt lake city ,but I blame officials in Arizona for not caring about working something out to keep coyotes in Arizona.
why would you care about a team like that or their billionaire owner? Let him pay for his own arena

Also Utah HC or Utah Hockey Club, and i hope Ryan Smith hired Different Jersey designers. Then what he did with the utah jazz, because he completely botched that.

Ryan Smith should have a talk to Elmore Sports Group owner Donna Tuttle about selling the Utah Grizzlies name rights to him and his wife Ashley Smith once the team finishes the 2023 - 2024 season and folds from the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League)
How about the Utah Rockies, Utah Grizzlies or Utah Golden Eagles

Arizona Coyotes have been a complete dumpster fire for 20+ years ... the Utah franchise sold out in 3 days.
Nothing like the politicians glomming on...
Keep in mind, SLC is NOT Park City... For all the people who've only flown in for ski vacations, SLC is far different. I lived in SLC.... Place needs alot of work. The homeless situation is awful, the scent off the lake, major smog.... Inside the doors could be killer, but SLC, not so much...; And I LOVE Utah.. It's one of my favorite states, but it's probably the 10th spot at best I'd chose to live in the state. They do have great roads though as they were all built for the 2002 Olympics...
They got an arena and an owner w/ a vision. That's what matters at this point.
Phoenix and Tucson homeless/crime problems are really bad too. Probably worse than SLC.

Hockey and basketball seasons overlap almost exactly. Gonna be tough for people in this small market to choose. Will need their own arena too.
Moist hockey fans I know can't stand the nba. While not as popular as basketball hockey has diehard loyal fans that will fill that arena
@@DR.DisInfect agreed, but with the NBA beng the only game in town I understood SLC was mad for the sport. I guess they have MLS but that season overlaps as well.
@mosinc7388 hockey and basketball in same arena can work look no further then 2 biggest markets in each respective sport, the Raptors and Leafs share an arena 🏟 also the Nhl Rangers and the Knicks just got to get the sight lines perfected and the money will come pouring in 🏀 ➕️ 🏒 = 💸

They are considered the front runners along with Nashville to get the next two expansion franchises.
