  • There are two ways to place a phone call using your UVO eServices System: using the touch screen, and by voice command. A different video explains the touch screen method. This video explores the options for placing a phone call using voice commands.
    HOST OC:
In this video, we’ll demonstrate the “Call” and “Dial” voice commands for placing a phone call on your UVO eServices System.
    HOST OC:
The call command is the easiest, and works for any number you have stored in your contacts list. Here’s how it works…
    HOST VO:
Press the Talk key on your steering wheel…
    HOST VO:
Wait for the response and beep, then make the Call.
    SFX: “Please say a command”…beep
    HOST OC:
    Call Lisa Smith
SFX: This contact has multiple phone numbers. Which number would like to call?
    Host VO:
    Mobile phone.
SFX: Calling Lisa Smith on mobile phone.
    LISA VO: Hello.
    HOST OC:
Hey Lisa, it’s me again. Hey can you hold on for a second?
    LISA VO: Okay.
    HOST OC:
If you need to take a break in the conversation, like I just did, you can put it on Mute. When muted, the person on the other end won’t be able to hear you.
    HOST OC:
When calling by name, speak your commands clearly and precisely to help your system recognize them. Make sure you use the person’s name exactly as it appears in your contact list. If it’s listed as William Smith, say both names in that order, not “Bill Smith” and not “Smith, William.”
    HOST OC:
Now let’s look at how to dial by number…
    HOST OC:
Lisa, can I call you right back?
    LISA: Sure.
    HOST OC:
Great, thanks. Okay, to place a call using the “Dial” command, press the Talk key again:
Wait for the response and the beep, and then make the call.
    SFX: “Please say a command”…beep
    HOST OC:
    Dial “555-795-9999”
    SFX: (System Responds)
    Host VO:
    Dial.
    SFX: Dialing.
    Host VO:
The system also gives you options to correct or delete.
    LISA VO: Hello.
    HOST OC:
Hey Lisa, it’s me again. Give me one more second, okay?
    HOST OC:
Other voice commands for placing calls include “Redial” and “Call History.” Prompts from your system will guide you through using these commands.
… Hi Lisa, sorry about that. I’ll talk to you later, okay?
    LISA VO: ok
    HOST OC:
UVO eServices -- convenient voice commands, and complete integration with all smartphone functions.
