  • As easy as it is to make a call using Kia’s UVO eServices hands-free system, it’s just as easy to receive a call.
In this video, we’ll show you how to do both.
When a call comes in, you’ll hear the ringtone through the speakers and the UVO eServices system will switch to phone mode.
    HOST OC:
To receive a phone call using your UVO eServices System, you must use either the touch screen or the keys on your steering wheel; you can’t receive a call via voice command.
    HOST VO:
Keep in mind that your UVO eServices System will only recognize calls for mobile phones or hands free devices that have been paired to the system, that are with you in the vehicle, and that are turned on.
    HOST VO:
When a call comes in, a window appears on your system’s touch screen, and any audio you’re listening to on the system is temporarily muted. The Incoming Call window displays the caller’s name, if it appears in your contacts, as well as the caller’s number, unless the number is private or restricted.
    HOST VO:
There are a few ways to accept the call. You can press the Accept button on the touch screen…
    HOST VO:
… or you can press the Receive Call key
    … on your steering wheel….
SFX: (Call comes in … ringtone.)
    HOST OC:
    Right on cue.
Since this is my friend [[Lisa]] again, I’m going to take this…
    HOST OC:
    Hi Lisa.
    LISA VO: Howdy, howdy.
    HOST OC:
Can I call you back in a few minutes?
    LISA VO: OK
    HOST VO:
There are also three ways to reject the call. You can press the Reject button on the touch screen…
    HOST VO:
You can press End Call… on your steering wheel, like I just did with Lisa…
    HOST OC:
Or you can reject the call on your mobile phone.
    HOST VO:
If you receive a call that you don’t want your passengers to hear, you can opt to take it privately on your phone by pressing the Private button on the touch screen …just keep in mind the safety tips I covered earlier.
    HOST VO:
Another way to take the call privately is to press the Receive Call key on your steering wheel for over a second.
    HOST VO:
At any time, you can switch the call back to hands-free using the hands-free button on your touch screen …
    HOST OC:
What happens if you’re on a call and a second call comes in?
    HOST VO:
Well, if your phone supports call waiting, you can take the second call using the controls we just discussed which automatically puts the first call on hold.
    HOST VO:
You can alternate between the two calls as needed by pressing the Switch button on the touch screen…
    HOST OC:

    Thanks for watching.
