Less square footage? I can’t wait to see how you make it all fit! I know you’ll have us all drooling over this build in no time. Thanks for alll you do! 😎
I remember Y'all being stuck in 4'-6' of mud with an inch of snow on top, reckon that won't happen in this rig ! I'm looking forward to see just how you do it!
My first 4x4 was a unimog ambulance as well back in 1986.A 404.1 was my model.Biggest issue I think you will find is the hub breather system.Look into it to prolong the diffs life.Look forward to your build and have fun.
Gotta say that this was a surprise. I thought you would be going the other direction. It’s going to be a whole lot more cramped than the shuttle bus! Will be interesting to see where you take it that you need something that off-road capable.
Oh I see what is going on here - The old bus got stuck in a mud puddle just the once so you noped the heck out of that with the biggest thing you can import! /s Congrats on the new direction and looking forward to the build
Congratulations on the Mog… you’re going to love it! They are amazing machines. If you have any questions, let me know!! Looking forward to watching your build progress!
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you two! Can't wait to watch the build process - you two were a huge help during my build (I'm now, finally, full-time on the road) and I'm sure I'll find things to change once I see your new build. All the best!
I’m so excited for you! I am a 66 year old woman, and you two are living my dream. The Unimog is my dream rig. It’s going to be such a pleasure for me to follow your build process. Thank you!
So excited to see the build process. Are you planning on more adventurous destinations now? Any trips you have in mind? I'm about a month away from purchasing a 4x4 ambulance and finally building out my new home as well. About 12' interior so I'll be taking some tips from you guys. Congrats again!
That’s really exciting, congrats! We have SO many locations in mind. We’ve been out in the southwest every winter without 4x4 for 8 years in a row now. Our list is a mile long! 🤣
Congratulations! Great purchase! My question to you two is: Why didn't you have the Box build made with an above the cab extension like you see on all consumer Truck Campers? This is where you would place "The Bedroom". I wish you all the best on your build and can't wait to see the final results!!!
You have to tilt the front part of the Unimog / drivers cabin forward to be able to work on the engine like valve adjustment. This means the space above the cabin is blocked. Plus the Mil Mog has a gun hatch which is great when you wanna stand up whilst the driver goes on and take pictures of say an elephant eye to eye… civil Mogs have a square hatch which can be converted to open sideways so you can stand on the gear lever area and watch out as well.
That thing is crazy cool! When Drew mentioned it being cool it took me a second to realize he was talking about the temperature. So excited to see what layout you've come up with. Any plans on Alaska or South America? 🎉 -Troy & Aimee
Will it be possible to have a crawl through between the cab and compartment or is there too much flex for that? I watched "Trueblue travellers" make a DIY one but they didn't have much flex.
can yall please go over costs, like shipping and cost of the box itsself all around full prica paid and all, looking to purchase a unimog myself and doing research this would help greatly! THANKS
Did u do any spring upgrades ? i have a ex Australian army one and i dunno if they upgraded the springs to make them more heavy duty, but its nasty on the back.
I will follow the adventure, however, this is definitely a niche vehicle. I know it will be a conversation piece, but have to wonder how often you will use it's abilities. I have seen other with specialty vehicles hunt for places to challenge it, but that is not practical other than to produce TH-cam videos, which I suppose is a monitory reason to do so...
I'd guess not too good MPG wise, ballpark 6-10 if your really optimistic. Highway mileage would need to be measured in gallons per mile for sure. Range can be adjusted with more fuel tanks.
We have some new Unimog merch items up in our shop: www.bonfire.com/store/our-way-to-roam/ Thanks for watching this week's video! 💙
The pinnacle of off-road capabilities!!!!
I know you guys won't be disappointed. I can't wait to see the new layout and how all that comes about.

Best Of Luck Guys for your New Journey
Thank you!!
What a vehical.you will be able to explore anywhere in the world.

We certainly have a better chance in this vehicle haha 🙃 we’ll also have a lot more recovery equipment on board!
Looking forward to watching the progress. Stay safe you guys and have a good week

You no the channel the outfit. They build and life in an Unimog. Also a lot of offroad adventures.
I think it will be very interesting to watch this build, specially the balancing strategy to ensure the truck do not roll over 😬

Thanks for watching and following along! 🧡 Unimogs are the best!
I look forward to following along on your new and exciting journey.

Nice

Would you mind sharing the cost of the custom subframe and camper box construction?
We paid $30,000. They credited us a bit for the consignment of our ambulance box on this as well.
Will you use the entrance as the shower box to save space?
Soooo many questions.... Are ya gonna do lives this build?
Will it be possible to have a crawl through between the cab and compartment or is there too much flex for that?
I watched "Trueblue travellers" make a DIY one but they didn't have much flex.
Are you going to have access to the cab from the camper?
Yes!

Well I guess Drew won't have to drive around mud puddles try not to get stuck in this vehicle
We can drive through the whole pond now! 😂
😂
Miles per gallon? Range?
Physics says not to good.

👍😃😍❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
It is smaller then your others.
The question is…where are the little boys going to ride in the cab?
There’s a space in between the passenger seat and the shifters. We’ll be building their beds into that spot eventually!
It's Lego, not Legos, Duh..... No plural....
